  1. Those who want to take from the wealthy and powerful to fund their "social welfare" always seem to forget that taxes on the wealthy and powerful are too damn high already. If you want to fund your social welfare at all, you need the tax money of the wealthy and powerful, but if you strangle the golden goose, then you'll run out of "social welfare" real quick.
  2. The last attempt at a World Socialist Revolution had a far greater chance of success, and they didn't stand a chance either. The One World Government Kumbaya types need more than good luck without the military force to back it up, they'll need a mind control device to pull that off, speaking of The Borg. Ah, but wait, The Borg did have the military to back it up, back to the drawing board I guess.
  3. Human wide revolution against the corporations, sounds like the World Socialist Revolution to me, just with a brand name that has less baggage.
  4. The Ultimate Zombie Confederation of people who don't have the same interests, what could possibly go wrong? All the problems of Canadian Confederation, but on steroids.
  5. What does educational rankings have to do with approval ratings? Trump latest approval ratings are better than Trudeau, Macron, Merkel and May's, and the educational rankings do not change that.
  6. GSTQ, Thanks for the solid UKUSSA.
  7. Yeah America has got us covered, they've got a failed state zombie confederation on their northern border to prop up after all.
  8. I'm all for national security, but red scare scapegoating has little to do with it.
  9. Both exports and imports can be a positive thing, it's not one or the other.
  10. Backfires pretty much every time, it's one of the WORST ways to attempt to advance a society. All progressive democracies are hurting themselves with sin taxes.
  11. A sin tax is far from the best way to achieve that goal, sin taxes are counter-productive.
  12. Pathological lying is a protected first amendment right, not treason, it's in the job description of politician, it's politics in a nutshell. Get used to it, noob.
  13. Like I said, it's all in the game, that's politics, baked into the cake.
  14. It's all in the game bro, that's politics, get used to it. Baked into the cake, more realism, less idealism.
  15. Something that actually matters, not a nothing burger complaint like; Hypocrisy in politics? Beyond the pale! /shrugs Slow your roll on the idealism, and start incorporating more realism into your analysis, protip.
  16. I'd say 2. Every politician is a hypocrite, crying hypocrite in politics is weak sauce, hypocrisy is baked into the cake, grade on a curve.
  17. I like being challenged just fine, but you are providing no challenge, I wish you would step your game up, but I know that's just wishful thinking. You seem quite incapable of providing an actual challenge, though I hope you prove me wrong, I don't expect you to.
  18. Prohibition of Chinese relations and/or exports, that's what some are suggesting in this thread, derp. It's not enough that the people suggesting this don't like the Chinese, they want to force all other Canadians to be subjected to sin taxes to virtue signal against China, if those people do things that the nanny staters don't approve of, nanny state prohibitionists trying to "save people from themselves", yet again.
  19. Canada buys more Chinese stuff than the Chinese buy Canadian stuff, therefore, Canadian consumers would be losing out on more products they want to buy than Chinese consumers would be losing out on products they want to buy, if the countries no longer engaged in trade.
  20. Scandinavia is successful because of free market capitalism, not their nanny social programs. What do you think pays for those social programs? I'll give you a hint, it ain't socialism.
  21. If you want China to do less shit that pisses off Canadians? Try bribing them for good behavior, enough of the Virtue Signaling Sin Taxes which will only backfire. VSST For The Fail. Not that the nanny state prohibitionists know any other way of doing business, which is why it's their first thought, every time.
  22. Our books cut right through the signal to noise ratio anyway, Flight To Quality FTW, America Knows. Keep calm and carry on in face of fallacious prattle, that's the way to roll. The best way to punish China is not by punishing Canadians for buying Chinese, or punishing the Chinese for buying Canadian, and/or by suspending relations with China. You'd figure that would be obvious, but Eskimo Communists of course remain oblivious, and they over-estimate how much China needs Canada while underestimating how much Canada needs China.
  23. No need to rumble here indeed, we can win an argument quite easily without resorting to that, if the harmless Eskimo Communists want to ignore reality because it conflicts with their ideals, it's no skin off our back. Brock and Tecumseh can lead a snowflake horse to water but they can't make them drink, but the flight to quality continues unabated no matter how stubborn they are. It's true, it's damn true. But suspending relations with China?
  24. Yeah hardly a false premise, obvious Trump Hater who is triggered by supporters chanting things is obvious, he tells us in practically every post he makes, how that is one of his biggest beefs with Trump. Don't snow Jimwd, we see right through that nonsense.
