  1. Criticizing immigrants isn't racist.
  2. On what basis can one assume that Don Cherry doesn't know about Indians fighting for the British? That doesn't even make any sense.
  3. You don't know what racism is. Immigrant is not a race. You people don't even know basic english, because that might get in the way of seeing racism under every rock.
  4. He said everyone should wear a poppy, he did clarify, and you refuse to accept that clarification in favor of your lame mind reading skills.
  5. No it doesn't. Sometimes racists use that phrase, but that doesn't mean everyone who uses that phrase is a racist, or saying anything racist. The racial overtones are all in your head, he attacks everyone who doesn't wear a poppy, all the damn time, far more often than he attacks immigrants for it as well. Drop the racism angle, or keep making a fool of yourself, your choice.
  6. But it isn't. It's just about the poppy, it has nothing to do with race, so drop the race angle. Or discredit your entire argument so no one pays attention to the one good argument you have by burying it under an avalanche of dumb.
  7. And they didn't accept his explanation, despite it being perfectly adequate. You assuming they made the right decision makes no sense, there is nothing to indicate that is the case and plenty to indicate otherwise.
  8. Indeed. Focus on that part of the argument, not the race angle, that's the worst argument, just drop it.
  9. I said they fired him because a mob called him racist with no proof. The mob, Anheuser-Busch and Rogers all owe him an apology, for getting him fired because of oversensitive snowflakes freaking out over nothing, not the other way around.
  10. There is nothing to apologize for, it's they who should be apologizing to him, for calling firing him because some dummies called him a racist with no proof. Their crime is far worse than his by several orders of magnitude.
  11. Nothing wrong with the phrase "you people", that phrase was just used in a non-bigoted in this very thread by someone claiming to want Cherry fired for saying the same thing. Enough of the racist angle, Cherry was criticizing immigrants who don't wear poppies, just like criticizes non-immigrants for not wearing poppies.
  12. He calls out everyone for the same shit, regardless of race, so clearly it's not racist at all. This is about poppies, not about race, people trying to make it about race are terrible mind readers who apparently have never listened to Don Cherry and can't pick up on context. No one is claiming that Rogers can't fire him, they are free to be idiots. You argue against a stupid strawman to make yourself seem insightful by comparison, but you only fool yourself.
  13. Corporations cave to the Woke Cancel Culture all the time, Rogers is no different. Adpocalypse strikes again. You act like there isn't an obvious pattern here, Captain Obtuse to the rescue.
  14. Right which is why they gave him a pass, calling out Cherry historically makes them think he's on their side, as does throwing Cherry under the bus after the fact.
  15. Cherry was wrong. He thought apologizing would help, but the track record of cancel culture suggests it wouldn't. Conservatives are treated with a double standard, Liberals get a pass.
  16. Maclean is still employed because he didn't say it, and he threw Don Cherry under the bus, which of course satisfies the Woke Outrage Mob who wanted his scalp.
  17. No it doesn't. The mob would have doubled down smelling blood and they still would have fired him. The same thing that happens every time a conservative cucks to the Woke Cancel Culture.
  18. No. Wearing a poppy gives no one the moral high ground, Don Cherry is 100% wrong about that.
  19. This idiotic focus on apologizes as if they matter in the face of the outrage mob, so ridiculous.
  20. Those people's opinions are not to be taken seriously. I don't care if their feelings are hurt for no reason, that is a dumb reason to fire someone. People looking to offended and cancel people they don't like for saying something they disagree with are bad people, they should all burn in hell.
  21. No one is arguing they had no right to do it, we are arguing it was a stupid move, so you can knock it off already.
  22. Which is just yet another sign that you've been an extremist in favor of cancel culture for over 20 years. If you don't like Don Cherry, don't watch him, stop supporting him being cancelled just because you don't like him.
  23. Your opinion is not representative of Rogers viewership. You give them too much credit for making the correct business decision, instead of panicking in the face of an outrage mob.
  24. Assumed wrong, yet again. I'm an Avs fan.
  25. His job should not be contingent on an apology. He didn't do anything wrong, there is nothing to apologize for. People being upset for no reason is not something to apologize for.
