    I'll say that it is plausible that it escaped from China's French built virus lab in Wuhan, although they didn't engineer it, they might have been storing it.

    I don't feel cooped up, my property is perfectly suited to this, I bought it so I could just hang out at home and enjoy myself I already engage in Social Distancing, not because of germs, because I am surrounded by Lefties.

    Depends what the desired effects are Perhaps the weapon is not designed for maximum lethality but rather simply economic warfare Might not be a terrorist weapon, might be somebody more subtle than that

    Pandemic from China was actually one of my top Black Swan scenarios so it was actually a case of making sure I wasn't succumbing to confirmation bias When the Chinese started flipping out tho, I was pretty sure then My wife is Canadian so the America Derangement Syndrome is all part of the deal.

    Depend where you are and what food you are looking for. Where I live here, it's almost all local meat & produce, I'm surrounded by farms here.

    Well I didn't say go crazy with it, I just said run all our levels to maximum, not because there will be a breakdown in the supply chain, just because you don't want to have to line up with the rest of the mooks when they eventually panic.

    See, months ago when the Chinamen started dropping dead in the streets I determined that this was going to be the proverbial Black Swan So in addition to wrapping up my market positions in an orderly fashion I also told my wife to start stocking up in an orderly fashion as well At the time she said I was just being an "American" and overreacting, but now she's had to eat crow on that.

    The steak selection is definitely picked over, you can get a steak, but not a choice one, that's why I stocked up with tenderloins.

    I'm more of an economic survivalist, Disaster Capitalist I am heavily armed, but I'm not expecting that sort of trouble.

    I have all the kit, but it's not nuclear fallout, there is no airborne threat.

    I have full British Army IPE with S10 Respirator, canisters and decontamination mitts, but I would only use that in extremis, like recovering contaminated human remains for instance I'm already shopping for the old people on my street right now, no protection other than hand washing, although that is surgical scrub level.

    Canada no longer has martial law on the books, the Emergency Measures Act is still subject to civilian law.

    A terrorist bioweapon is not going to be exotic like a virus, it's going to be something simple, easy and cheap to produce, which is also easy to deploy, like Enterotoxin B for example

    I have full tenderloins in the freezer, already cut into double thick steaks, but I'm not actually seeing any disruption to the supply chain, even with the panic buying, the grocery stores here are pretty much fully restocked already

    If China ever did achieve a Flight to Quality, that would actually be good for America, because then America would have to loosen things up in response, bring it on. America actually does better when there is competition, ever since the Soviets went away, America has turned to internecine fights

    It's not going to happen while the Communist Party is running things The source of all of America's wealth and power is the Flight to Quality China without the rule of law, is not a safe haven China only presents a threat to unseat America as the Global Hegemon if China has a revolution and adopts a true free market with the rule of law.

    The threat to Canada is that America is in the process of remaking itself into an Information Power, at which point Canada's natural resources are no longer required.
