  1. The policies need to be focused on the majority, aka central canada and bc. We can't have policies that just benefit tiny provinces with no people like saskatchewan and alberta.
  2. You must have not listened to Harper's long list of broken promises. https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2008/02/05/broken_promises_piling_up_for_harper.html
  3. Not me, country ain't worth dying for, has you seen what Kathleen Wynne does with our taxes, they have all the money, let them do the fighting and dying. I'm not dying for a country who has robbed me blind of my tax dollars to line lobbyist pockets. Let Wynee and her lobbyist do all the dying, they are getting all the money.
  4. The fact that the teachers influenced those Greek philosophers doesn't matter? The fact Kemetic philosophy is the foundation of Western civilization that touches billions of people doesn't matter? Then the argument for Plato mattering seems even more absurd. We already are excluding the most influential people based on race, we are excluding Confucius, Ahmed Baba, Ibn Rushd, Siddhartha Gautama, Amenhotep, Imohotep, Ptah-hotep and Secttnoophus, we are excluding them in a politically correct manner because they are not white. This is why students at SOAS are complaining, they are tired of PC culture that excludes the MOST influential philosophers who are the foundation for Greek society and educated Greece's most erudite citizens and taught them and trained them in the philosophical system which would be used throughout all of Europe and the Americas, Australia and the rest of world. You are essentially arguing it is best to ignore top philosophers based on race.
  5. Harper was a terrible lead, glad he was gone, he was good when he had a minority government and cut our taxes by 1% on spending and made a tfsa, other than that though, terrible leadder he destroyed the economy despite all time high oil prices. Once he got a majority, he became useless and worthless, glad he is gone.
  6. People who trade commodities add value to the market by stabilizing prices and by providing greater liquidity to the commodities market. If you ever seen what a market with only producers looks like it is highly restricted, all those people making money off their pensions and 401ks can kiss that money good bye, you are speculators because you will not go drill for an oil well. Who is stopping the producers from going straight to the consumers? NO ONE. The middle man provides a valuable service in connecting the two, for a price of course. Lol, the market would just create structures to circumvent this by making vehicles who hold stocks like an etf but permit investors to dispose of the asset in an outside zone tax free. Wall Street runs America, Wall Street gets, what Wall Street wants, GREED IS GOOD! It doesn't matter who you vote for, we control both sides. We have our left hand in the democrats back pocket and our right hands in the republicans front pocket.
  7. Did Hawkins learn physics from his gym teacher for 13 years? Did Hawkins gym teacher study physics for 40 years? There is no parallel between Hawkins gym teacher and the professors in the university temple of waset teaching Greeks and training Greek philosophers for decades in what was probably the most rigorous education system. Ironically there is substantial evidence that socrates was not white. I'm sure some white people have white guilt, but if they were not rigging the education system with falsities they probably wouldn't feel so guilty. Not every achievement of a white person is due to another ethnicity. White people own monster truck driving. One thing I always did wonder, is why do white historians and white archaeologist generally just skip over northern Europe, central and Eastern Europe and the parts of central Asia where whites originate from and have been in for the majority of history, and go straight to southern European (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece) countries that historically were closer and populated by non-whites.
  8. And Socrates biggest influence was his African teacher in the Temple of Waset, where he studied medicine and philosophy for 15 years. The father of Western Philosophy thus is not Socrates but rather Ptah-Hotep, Imohotep and Amenhotep along with Secttnoophus the later of whom taught these Greeks. St. Clement of Alexandria, himself a Greek would write: β€œIf you were to write a book of 1000 pages, you could not put down names of all Greeks who went to Nile Valley in ancient Egypt to study ..." Plato's Republic is based off of Kemetic Mystery System of Mi'yat (which is why he is accused often by scholars like Cantor of plagiarizing) although I think he was inspired by it, it is a hellenzied form of an African system. It would be like saying Chinese invented fighter planes, because in China, Chinese people make fighter planes. Yes but those technologies come from the West largely.
  9. Not all philosophers, naturally the first philosopher would have nothing before, but most, probably. I agree Plato ideas influence Western society. But his ideas were borrowed from Africans who taught him the ideas he translated into Greek. So African ideas and philosophers are the foundation of Western society. This doesn't in my view, mean Plato has no place, but these things need to be put into context. Your analogy is not even correct because African philosophy was already a useful tool within Africa, Asia and Europe by the time Plato, Thales, Socrates, Aristotle and so on started showing up to get educated in Africa. Plato did not turn African philosophy into a useful tool, it was already being used by millions of people for thousands of years before Plato ever showed up. He translated it into Greek, returned to Greece. Romans copied the Greeks, renaissance and enlightenment europe looked to the classical Greeks and Romans for some inspiration. However another great question emerges. If the top European philosophers scholars, who also contribute much to western philosophy, all emerge from African philosophy, African schools, and African society, why aren't we studying the teachers and priest like Sechnuphis who taught them the philosophies that made them great and are the foundation of Western civilization, art, law, language, music, culture and development.
  10. Did Hawkins gym teacher teach him physics for 13 years? Plato was a thinker, but all people are thinkers, he had simply translated theories and views and philosophies from Kemetian into Greek and some people want to pretend that he invented this all because he is the FIRST EUROPEAN to do it. That is it. If Hawkins gym teacher taught Hawkins the big bang and most important theories that make him relevant but only Hawkins is being credited because of his race/nationality, then that is wrong.
  11. There was risk and work, but if you find a way other than the GAI to make sure someone gets money with no risk or work you tell me! What do you mean by "re-distribute wealth" and not "Creating any", I don't know anyone in the business world not creating anything. Even the people in commodities have to sell them. Yeah and if you do that tax guess what happens to the businesses that do create things and want to raise money? They leave your country and meet with investors in foreign countries with no taxes on speculative gains. And how the heck do you separate a speculative trade from a non-speculative trade?
  12. Too risky, what if a rock fell on my $500 shoes?
  13. Who says a religion requires belief in a god or "prescribed dogma"? That is not the definition of a religion. A religion is a system of beliefs, that is it. There are other religions beside athiesm which do not recognize a god. Our poitics is not free of religion, even athiest have beliefs, they have religion. Some people even worship money, sex, drugs, materialism, they make those their false gods, their religion. And you are fooling yourself if you think religions without organized temples do not contradict secular law, there are plenty of materialistic leaders who rob their nations blind and break all kinds of laws ie donald trump. Ironically you did not even bother to research the countries you named, Turkey is a secular state. Has been secular since the Ottoman empire days and it was probably one o the first european nation to embrace multicultural modern secularism.
  14. LOL, they've already whitewashed it by removing all the most important philosophers and philosophical institutions which laid the foundation for western civilization ie temple of waset and its teachers who taught all the ancient greek philosophers in Africa like plato, aristotle, socrates, euclid, pythagoreas, Hypocrates studies for 20 years; and the other Greeks who matriculated at Waset included Diodorus, Solon, Thales, Archimides, and Euripides. Indeed, the Greek, St. Clement of Alexandria, once said that if you were to write a book of 1,000 pages, you would not be able to put down the names of all the Greeks who went to Kemet to be educated and even those who did not surreptitiously claim they went because it was prestigious. β€œ Herodotus said it, Plato confirmed it and Aristotle never denied it”. Thales (624-547 B.C.) was the first (protos) Greek student to receive his training from Egyptian priests in the Nile Valley.III Proclus (Neoplationist, 420-485 A.D.) Reports that Thales introduced science, philosophy and mathematics/geometry to Greece. ergo the foundations of western philosophy is African, and by excluding those Africans philosophy is being white washed in these schools.
  15. I don't think a philosopher should be banned. I don't think it should be up to the prof because if the prof is biased he cane exclude the important philosophers from outside of Europe who shaped the world. I believe it is racially drive rather than cultural because the foundations of western civilization is not european but african and asian. Thus they will include some african philosophers only if they were white migrants into africa like augustine of hippo, while excluding the original african philosophers who taught plato for 13 years because they are not white. I agree on your last point, which is why the school must stop its racist policy of banning non-white philosophers.
  16. That would have been my expectation, but instead we had a massive fail because the professors trolled the students by putting in just dozens of white irrelevant philosophers just for being white.
  17. The irony of this is that Plato studied in Africa for 13 years under the Horite priest Sechnuphis but we will study Plato but not the Africans who educated him and laid the foundation for Western science and philosophy. This is the type of political correctness that is being complained about. Plato is being honored in this regard for his skin color, not his achievements. I don't think Descartes or Kant laid such foundations. You had secular states before these guys, and how secular were Western countries who had prayer in school anyways? I disagree, there are far more relevant scholars for these countries than scholars who have not contributed anything.
  18. What traditions? The philosophical traditions of whom, what legal traditions? Western society foundation lay in Asia and Africa not Europe.
  19. There is no such thing as no religion, a religion is a system of beliefs, even athiesm is therefore by definition a religion.
  20. I like casino capitaism, it made me have my big house in bridal path, 2 acres in the city, if not for casino capitalism, Id have to go drill an oil well like the rockerfellers or risk getting tetanus in a gold mine or black lung in a coal mine or something dangerous like that. Rather than complain about people getting wealthy, you should join the party.
  21. Hard work has nothing to do with your earnings. Earnings is a combination of probably a dozen or more factors but here are the ones that come to mind: -training -education -reliability -face time -neopotism -toadyism - Sycophantism -Butt kissism -luck -parents wealth and connections -personality -outgoingness -Hard work is a factor too -ambition -willingness to give up friends, family, religion all for success. -smartness -cleverness -ability to manipulate -likability -connections I think we should focus on why CEO pay and compensation has exploded since the 1960s and 1950s. Yeah CEO use to make alot back then, but the gap was much smaller. 1. More wealth and money floating around, more money to be made = more opportunities to make obscene amounts of money = higher pay 2. Finding highly skilled CEOs is very difficult. How many people are willing to work the 80-100 hour work weeks, and be in meetings right through until 10 pm consistently and are actually capable of turning around a major corporate enterprise? 3. The drastic cut in corporate and personal taxes, where the top corporate and personal tax rates during this period topped out in the low 90% range to high 80% range and the general incentive was for a business to spend money through expense accounts to avoid paying taxes. Now tax rates have been cut and decimated downwards. As such, CEOs are just replacing what they use to expense as a business expense as personal pay. Ie. CEO use to have access to 20 different cars and a business owned retreat etc. Now they want the money to buy it personally because tax rates are low enough that with stock options it makes sense. When you had to pay close to 90% tax rates under the Kennedy government, for anything over $1 million, wasn't much point in taking a $10 million salary when 8.1 of that 9 million goes right to the government! 4. Industries have consolidated substantially since the 1960s and the 1980s. Back in the 1960s, there use to be alot more variety in ownership in most industries, now, most large industries have consolidated into 3-5 major players. Think of how stores never even use to have a name brand or nothing in the 30s and 40s and a CEO might control 10 stores and that would be a big company, compared to now where stores can have thousands of locations. More locations, more profit, profit works its way upwards 5. Boards of directors are often you scratch my back, I scratch yours. The board is controlled by the largest shareholders. During the 1980s financial companies (non-banks) started raising funds to take companies over in a hostile manner by buying up their shares. They would then get board seats and fire the CEOs in place and put themselves into the CEO positions. Then having their cronies fill the BOD and this was done in groups. So just like how you have Donald Trump and his team of billionaire buddies taking over government, they'd do the same to private companies, take over the boards, then raid the company of its assets through huge and inflated CEO pay. Bare in mind that the CEOs in place were frequently not much better in that they themselves were raiding the companies (like conrad black) with all kinds of silly schemes to rip off the company aka shareholders. This is why many board members serve on 10, 15, 20, 25 boards, it is their job to rubber stamp things. As for why the average worker has seen their wages decrease from 1980s and they earn so little, and I am speaking from a US perspective here as those are the economics I studied. Well the answer is quiet simply, there is no real demand or pressure to push wages up. The CEOs are simply raiding their businesses and consolidating industries but not creating anything of much value. The workers are not smart. They permit the government to bring in legions of foreign workers and illegal immigrants (including falsified visa applications claiming they can find no local which is always a lie) to work for cheap, expand the labor pool, push down the labor demand by flooding the place with more workers and permitting the erosion of workers rights, trade barriers, tariffs and the promotion of free trade. Imagine if we let in 100,000 CEOs a year, you'd probably see their wages fall too. 6. There is also another reason I forgot to mention. CEOs now have better access to information and the market than ever, they always have the threat of leaving the business and starting a competing firm. It is why they have golden parachutes. Plus, if you are an investor, if your stock price is doubling, are you going to complain if your CEO made $39 million a year? I am not. I want the best qualified CEO to make me as rich as possible.
  22. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2017/01/08/university-students-demand-philosophers-including-plato-kant/ The students are right to remove these irrelevant philosophers from the curriculum like Kant, Niche, Descartes, etc. because they had little to no influence over the societies where they lived and there are far more relevant philosophers who have influenced far more people in the world who ought to be studied. Some old politically correct snow flakes want special treatment for some white philosophers who achieved nothing just because they are white. This is not to say that white philosophers should never be studied, but they should have achievements or influenced people or thoughts that relate to the modern world like Marx, Engels, Smith, etc. There are far more Asian, African and Arab philosophers than whites who had substantially influenced the world and far more people too but the old professors want political correctness in education and for some irrelevant white philosophers to be taught in a school that studies African, Arabia, and Asia just because those philosophers are whites as part of white colonial political correctness culture and in an effort to re-write history and make what were truly irrelevant philosophers like Niche or Malthus pretend to be relevant as part of white skin privilege. Whereas real philosophers like Confuscious, Ahmed Baba, Ptah Hotep, and Budda would go on to influence over a billion people respectively, the professors in political correctness want to shove white skin privilege of irrelevant white philosophers down the throat of everyone. What is most bizarre is that Oxford Universityand University of Paris was started off of islamic literature and islamic and moorish libraries by white visiting professors to ISLAMIC MOORS universities but somehow they want to pretend that irrelevant philosophers are relevant just for being white. When without the Asian and African philosophers, half the countries in Europe would not even have schools.
  23. Just look at the lawsuits they've had with the school districts to remove the books, they create toxic environments from the perspective of the original community. Isn't it coincidental it is mainly white people defending to maintain a book with a large number of racial slurs but insisting it is somehow not racist?
