Mark Carney will make crime and chaos worse.
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What hypocritical is liberals claiming they live and let live, but in fact they are the ones imposing all this liberal progressive stuff on society with the laws they bring in. And then claiming they are just living and let living. If I'm not mistaken, the liberal government even cut off funding for summer students who belonged to Christian schools that opposed abortion. Not sure if they dropped that idea and started funding them again or not. Liberals don't live and let live at all. They impose their DEI ideology on the Canadian Forces, and hiring practices in public services. Nonsense. You commented on this the crime and chaos subject here and I explained what I believe in connection with it. Like it or lump it. -

Standing up for what the Bible teaches and opposing evil is what Christians are supposed to do. "live and let live" is pure liberal, progressive, woke ideology. Turning a blind eye to all the evil is exactly what Satan wants you to do. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. That is what being a good liberal means. Didn't you know that? -

Never said anything about killing criminals although capital punishment would be useful for murderers. That is you changing the subject. You said you oppose punishment for criminals. That is nonsense. The Bible doesn't teach not to punish criminals. Read Romans 13:4 KJV The ESV is a corrupt Bible by the way. The KJV is the only real Bible. -

Who knows exactly what that means? You seem to be making that claim to downplay or negate the belief that Carney and the Liberals will make crime worse. So in that sense what you are saying comes across as you opposing doing something about the bad bail laws or other useless liberal crime laws. Ask a brewery owner in Prince George about that. I believe his brewery was set on fire by an arsonist and that area of town has become very bad. Police seem unable to do anything to help him much. He is thinking of shutting his business down now. Of course the city is very unhappy about all that. You asked what you said that shows you come across that way and that's it. The thing is the liberal gang are anti God and supporters of evil. That may be by pure ignorance but the end result is still the same. Their ideology is anti-God and anti-Bible. I will give you a couple examples of how this is true: 1. The believe abortion on demand is fine, when in fact it is murder of preborn babies. 2. They support LGBTQ ideology under the claim of DEI. Nobody says they should persecute or discriminate against LGBTQ people or anything like that. But the liberal party seems to be in an crusade to normalize trans gender ideology, etc. Check the Liberal party website. " 2016 Federal legislation introduced to protect trans* rights and prevent discrimination based on gender identity. Justin Trudeau becomes the first Canadian Prime Minister to march in a Pride Parade. Justin Trudeau and MPs raised the Pride Flag on Parliament Hill for the first time." etc. etc. A proud record of fighting for 2SLGBTQI+ rights | Liberal Party of Canada What exactly are these rights they are talking about? To be clear, I don't support discrimination of anybody. But I have a problem with teaching kids some of these things in school such as trans is normal and any kid can change his gender if he or she wishes. 3. Just today they announced they recognize two states in Israel, that is, they recognize Palestine as a state. This is radically anti-Israel and is rewarding Hamas regardless of what Carney claims. 4. Medical assistance in dying (MAID) is assisted killing and is basically wrong and contrary to the Bible and our historic Judeo-Christian civilization/culture. 5. The way liberals handle crime and the justice system has many problems in it. -

That is a bizarre claim. May I suggest you start going for Biblical counselling? It might help you. Secondly, that is not what the Bible teaches at all. God punished the Israelites many times in the Old Testament for violating his commandments. In fact, God gave the death penalty for those who broke a lot of his commands. Read Deuteronomy and Leviticus. -

Yes, because I don't know how that has helped. Street crime with repeat offenders is reported almost every day on the B.C. news. The disastrous bail system is well known to release repeat offenders constantly, some of them dangerous and we see on the news how people have been murdered by offenders released on bail. So your statistics don't solve that problem at all. That would be a huge problem because it would explain why you are biased against changing the lax bail laws because you would be sympathetic to criminals moreso than the average person. You might believe everyone with a criminal record behaves himself, which they don't in many cases. -
Liberals just introduced a new bill C9 allegedly to fight against hate crime, but like everything Liberals do, the problem lies between the lines and how it could be used. One problem is with these kind of bills, they give unlimited power to government to control society and individuals and there is very little or no protection for how it will be used. They make the claim that there is no risk to fundamental freedoms, but that could be open to interpretation and used in a way to to suppress individual freedoms of expression and freedom of speech. quote The Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF) is concerned that key aspects of the Carney government’s proposed hate crimes legislation would unduly infringe on freedom of expression. Among other changes to the Criminal Code, Bill C-9 would establish a standalone hate crime provision that would allow for up to life in prison for committing an act motivated by hatred, would create new intimidation and obstruction crimes related to buildings used for religious worship or primarily by identifiable groups, and would establish a new crime of wilfully promoting hatred by displaying certain symbols such as terrorist flags or Nazi swastikas in a public place. The CCF has identified the following concerns: Overbreadth of the hate-symbol provision (s. 319(2.2)): It could chill legitimate speech in cases where it is unclear whether a symbol is “principally associated with a terrorist group” or “resembles a symbol” outlawed under the provision; Extreme sentencing under the new hate crime offence (s. 320.1001): A person who commits mischief against property motivated by hatred could face up to seven years in prison, rather than the current two years; Removal of Attorney General oversight: The bill would allow police to charge a person with hate speech without receiving the Attorney General’s consent, which is an important safeguard for freedom of expression that has been part of Canada’s law for decades; and Lowering the threshold for “hatred”: The definition of “hatred” added as a new section 319(7) appears to lower the bar for hate speech set by the Supreme Court of Canada in cases like R v Keegstra and R v Whatcott, which could chill speech and public debate. CCF Executive Director Joanna Baron questioned the need for parts of the bill considering Canada already has “robust hate propaganda laws.” “Creating new offences for hate-motivated crimes and lowering safeguards like Attorney General oversight is unnecessary and invites excessive prosecutions,” she said. “The new hate symbol offence only targets displays done with the intent to promote hatred, but without Attorney General consent as a safeguard, there is a real risk that people using these symbols in art, journalism, or protest will be charged first and vindicated later,” Baron added. CCF Counsel Josh Dehaas said that while he’s pleased to see that the federal government has tailored its provisions on intimidation and obstruction of places of worship to capture criminal conduct rather than protected speech and protest, he is concerned that the new definition of “hatred” will chill legitimate expression. “I’m also very wary that banning hate symbols could be a slippery slope,” Dehaas said. “In free countries, we ought to criminalize violence, not speech, so this sets a worrying precedent.” unquote Liberal hate crimes bill raises free speech concerns - Canadian Constitution Foundation The Liberal party seems to have a penchant for wanting to control everyone's life to the nth degree or as much as they can get away with. This is not respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms. Who is to be the judge as to what is acceptable speech? What if someone who disagrees with you claims you are breaking this law simply because he doesn't agree or opposes your right to your opinion or comments? Then you could become the target of the state and be placed in the position of having to hire lawyers and defend yourself. Or you could even be imprisoned for years while your case finds its way through the legal system. This kind of thing puts a very heavy hand on freedom of expression or freedom of speech and will tend to suppress it. This leans more toward authoritarianism or a brand of totalitarianism. Multiculturalism has been disastrous for Canada

That is a completely false claim. There is no proof. Why do you think it is called a theory, the Theory of Evolution. Because it is just a theory of course. It was dreamed up by Charles Darwin in the 1800s and subsequently most of the world swallowed simply because they didn't have the faith to accept what the Holy Scripture says. It says God created the universe and all creatures and man in six days and rested the seventh day. It sounds much more scholarly to say science found the answer and it is evolution, which is nonsense. It was never proven. Nobody was around to observe evolution because it supposedly occurred over millions of years. Therefore it could never be repeated in a laboratory. It is not something that can be repeated. I would recommend you obtain the book Darwin's Universe:- From Nothing, By Nothing, For Nothing, Survival for nothing, by Yan T. Lee. Darwinists hope to bury God in an avalanche of a causeless universe and a godless evolution. (from back cover) The book explains clearly why this evolution is false. Atheism is a long, hard, cruel business. It claims we are all a pure accident of the cosmos. Therefore life has no meaning and no purpose. We live and die and that is the end of it. It is an existence without hope. You can buy it on Amazon. It is worth the money. -

Photo by HANDOUT /TORONTO POLICE If you’re a criminal, the past decade in Canada has been a low-risk, boffo-bucks time of plenty. Aided and abetted by the agreeable Supreme Court of Canada, killers, rapists, child molesters and other thugs – aka the cruel and inhumane club – have walked out of court. And too often, they end up walking right back in again. “We arrest them, then they get bail and we arrest them again,” one Toronto cop told The Toronto Sun. “So we’re arresting the same people over and over again instead of just leaving them in jail. Doesn’t matter if it’s guns or even murder.” This has come at a time with spiking violent crime, daytime smash-and-grabs and dope flooding into the country. The Toronto Police Association – representing more than 8,500 cops and civilian workers – issued a quartet of questions to Liberal Leader Mark Carney and Conservative Leader Pierre Polievre. The questionnaire asked the parties about gun violence policies, a demand for tougher sentences for the most heinous criminals and boosting police ranks. But bail was number one with a bullet: “What is your party’s plan to stop the revolving door of bail and implement a system that better protects the public and our members?” The Sun did a cursory search on some of the recent bail luminaries, and here’s who we found. None of the charges have been proven in any of these cases. unquote BAIL FAIL! Weak sentences against violent criminals

Don't you think crime should have punishment? Shouldn't serious crime have serious punishment? Who cares if it doesn't reduce some other crime. Giving serious punishment for serious crime is not going to increase crime. If anything it should reduce it. Don't you believe in justice? How is it fair to the victims and victim's families if you let criminals get away without due punishment? How is it fair to drag victim's families through parole hearings every couple years? If the crime has already been committed, then the only question is how much punishment should the offender receive. When you start taking into consideration the offender's upbringing, his skin colour, his race, his personal beliefs, his mental condition, the number of FNs already in prison, etc. etc., you have given up on any kind of fair justice system. All of those things are just a money-making racket for the lawyers and everyone working in the justice system. It also explains why many cases drag on for years and years as defence lawyers bring up every excuse under the sun why their client should get a reduced sentence or get off. It is a steady income for lawyers. Obviously if criminals know the punishment is very light for serious crime, that will have an effect on their thinking. Simple logic. -

I don't understand your soft on crime attitude. It is sickening. What is it that makes you oppose letting the Conservatives make serious changes to protect the citizens by keeping all these dangerous repeat offenders behind bars? Where did you come from? Criminal record? Do you have relatives who have criminals records? What is your reason? ExFlyer gives down arrows constantly; maybe a criminal record could explain it? -

The truth is the majority of violent repeat offenders are granted bail in B.C. regardless of the fact the prosecutors warn and plead with judges not to release them. -

" New statistics have reignited the debate around bail for violent repeat offenders in B.C., with the the provincial government calling for federal bail reform — and the opposition saying the province isn’t pushing hard enough under the current bail rules. Data released by the BC Prosecution Service Monday showed judges ordered pre-trial detention in less than half of cases where Crown prosecutors sought it. The data included bail hearings over a five-week period in November and December, along with a week each in February and March, and showed that in 667 cases where the Crown had sought to keep an accused person behind bars, B.C. judges agreed and denied bail in just 276 cases — about four times in 10." Data showing frequent bail for accused repeat violent offenders reignites B.C. crime debate | Globalnews.ca It appears the majority of pre-trial repeat violent offenders are being released on bail even though the prosecutors warn about releasing them and plead for them to be kept in custody. Ankle bracelets and GPS won't stop a violent offender who is determined to go after someone. They have no fear and don't care about the consequences. Innocent people such as former partners are the ones that are the victims. -

Under existing laws, many people are being attacked and some murdered by people released by judges on various conditions. The government has tinkered with the laws but nothing has been enough to stop the catch and release of dangerous offenders. There have been cases in B.C. recently where a young woman was murdered by someone who she knew who was released on bail with strict conditions. Many people have been protesting this but nobody in Ottawa seems to be listening. Judges seem to think these people will always obey the conditions but often they don't. "In British Columbia, statistics indicate that judges ordered pre-trial detention in less than half of cases where Crown prosecutors sought it, suggesting that many individuals on bail or parole may be at risk of being released while still being involved in criminal proceedings. However, specific numbers regarding individuals attacked by those on bail or parole are not provided in the available data. Global News -

Because that's not how God operates. He gave man free will but man mis-used it and rebelled against God. So God sent he Son to earth to die on a cross to pay for man's sins and redeem those who believe on him (believe the gospel). God is therefore calling out a people who will live forever in glory (paradise) with him. It is believed by many that Jesus Christ will return soon and will reign on earth for a thousand years and then create a new earth. Those who are born again will be with him forever. Libs for the most part do not believe the Bible and therefore are completely open to satanic deception. They are blinded by the prince of the power of the air. That is why they don't see the evil of what they are doing. And actually the people supporting them don't know or believe the Holy Bible. Many are members and followers of Roman Cathocism. Even Carney is. That is a another story. -

The Liberal party and the NDP are anti-God and anti-Bible and should not be supported. They support euthanasia, and it appears, even for people with mental issues, abortion on demand and the LGBTQ agenda and grooming kids in school to be trans if they wish as well as pre-marital sex. Libs also do not believe in punishment for crime and believe in releasing dangerous criminals as much as possible. They give criminals rights at the expense of public safety.
