Edmonton Western-made terror attack
blackbird replied to Altai's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He came from Somalia, a place known to be infested with terrorists and radicals. The question is how did he slip through the IRB screening process? Why does the law allow someone that had indications of extremism two years ago to walk free, especially from that part of the world. The police apparently said there was not enough evidence to do anything. Wow! What kind of country is this? Would anyone see now why Trump put a ban on immigrants from those countries? -

Edmonton Western-made terror attack

Politicians said this is not a time for hate. Did Canadians cause this jihadist to attack somehow by hate??? Politicians comments baffle me. They would be better off keeping quiet unless they have something meaningful to say. -
Many would argue those wars to stop the advancing spread of communisim in southeast Asia. At the time, there was a cold war with the USSR was greatly feared as spreading Communism. It was occurring in se Asia. In hindsight, it was a useless war. The communist hordes in southeast Asia should have been let go and turn the countries over to Vietnam, Combodia, and Laos.. They could go no further because they are stopped by the ocean. It would have saved a lot of lifes. But fear of the spread of Communism was greater than we understand today.

There is tons of evidence. Just do a search for Obama opposing Trump. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/02/27/trump-says-obama-is-helping-to-organize-protests-against-his-presidency/?utm_term=.cace151d7a40

Edmonton latest Canadian city to taste Muslim terrorism
blackbird replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He would have to be an idiot to not at least say it was a terrorist attack. That's nothing new. But do you think he'll every say it was an Islamic terrorist attack or a jihadist attack? Never. -
Obama has been actively opposing Trump. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=obama+and+anti+trump+protests&qpvt=Obama+and+anti+Trump+protests&FORM=VDRE

There was someone on TV who pointed out certain leaders of the left are following the principles of a radical who wrote a manual on it. His name is Saul Alinsky. The direction is a new world order. The objective is to create chaos everywhere with the goal of taking over in order to bring their new world order. Quote Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals is the last book published in 1971 by activist and writer Saul D. Alinsky shortly before his death. His goal for the Rules for Radicals was to create a guide for future community organizers to use in uniting low-income communities, or "Have-Nots", in order for them to gain social, political, legal, and economic power.[1] Within it, Alinsky compiled the lessons he had learned throughout his experiences of community organizing from 1939–1971 and targeted these lessons at the current, new generation of radicals.[2] Divided into ten chapters, Rules for Radicals provides 10 lessons on how a community organizer can accomplish the goal of successfully uniting people into an active organization with the power to effect change on a variety of issues. Though targeted at community organization, these chapters also touch on other issues that range from ethics, education, communication, and symbol construction to nonviolence and political philosophy.[3] Though published for the new generation of counterculture-era organizers in 1971, Alinsky's principles have been successfully applied by numerous government, labor, community, and congregation-based organizations, and the main themes of his organizational methods that were elucidated upon in Rules for Radicals have been recurring elements in political campaigns in recent years. The left opposing Trump does not believe in freedom of speech. Every time some group of protestors want to come out and demonstrate against open borders, illegal immigrants or immigration policies, groups of radical leftists and antifa types show up to riot and cause havoc. Obama was in Canada after the election and Hillary was here recently drumming up support for the left and her new book. There is a connection between all of these things. Don't pretend there isn't.

I heard that Obama has formed a kind of shadow cabinet not far from the white house and is part of the organization to oppose Trump. Globalists and world socialists have a powerful network and will never accept the outcome of the election.

I don't think what anyone said would make any difference to you. You have your blinders on. Why don't you read some history books about the world? The world always has had different nations and empires taking control of different areas by force. It is nothing unique to western countries. You had the Islamic empire. Also Genghis Ghan (not spelled correctly) who conquered all of Asia, and was moving into Europe. You had the Naziis that had all of Europe for only a few years. The Russians had the USSR which fell apart. You seem to think it is unique to the U.S. and the west to use force in the world. It's been happening for thousands of years everywhere. That's just how the world has been.

humbug!

Yes. I never paid much attention in school and had to finish school later and since then try to increase knowledge by reading in the past number of years. My memory is not as good as when I was young. But still interested in learning more about the world.

I will have to read that info on Wikipedia, but it is long so can't do it tonight.

Yes, some pretty bad things went on. I think the Black Plague in the 15th or 16th century wiped out possibly a quarter of the population of Europe too.
-
Yes. Then the Reformation in the 1500s started to take a bite out of Holy Roman Empire in northern Europe with Martin Luther, King Henry VIII, John Knox in Scotland, and John Calvin in Switzerland and area.

You are absolutely correct. You seem to be quite up on a lot of the history around Islam. The Roman Empire ceased to exist before Islam started around the 7th century. But there was the Holy Roman Empire which existed after the Roman Empire. Then I think, if my guess is correct, around 1000 A.D. the Holy Roman Empire split creating the Byzantine eastern part which went their own way. I'm not sure how long the Holy Roman Empire lasted but I think it was around well into a few centuries ago in part of Europe. Do you know if the Jizya tax is collected anywhere today?

I've been reading a history book about the Silk Road - A History of the World, that ran through the middle east to Asia from Europe down through the ages. That refers to the trade that went on between the Roman Empire and Asia, Persia, India, China, and the middle east. If you look back a thousand years or more ago, I don't think there was so much trouble with Islam and jihadists in the middle east. They did a lot of trading with the Roman Empire and parts of the Roman Empire sold slaves to them. There didn't appear to be the tension between the west and parts of the middle east that there is today. The parties did try to conquer each other at times such as in the Crusades and during the spread of Islam into Spain and France, and struggles in other areas, but I don't think there was an ongoing general hostility between the parties. I could be wrong about that and am just speculating as there was so much in the history of that part of the world. I will have to re-read the book but it is very long. But it seems there were even areas that Islam took over and allowed the Jews or christians to practice their own religion as long as they followed the laws or rules. But I guess not every place was like that.

The secret oath of the Jesuits found on the internet is to be whatever will further their ultimate objectives. If being a Muslim ostensibly is what it takes, then certainly be a Muslim ostensibly. He supports "pro choice" (pro abortion) dogma and has banned anyone from being a candidate in his party if they are not "pro choice". Whatever will get him elected within a certain constituency is what he supports. If open borders and welcoming the world to walk in will please his constituency, then support open borders. If opposing "white privilege" and "colonialism" is useful to appeal to his constituency, then oppose that as well. If divide and conquer will ensure support from a certain constituency, then divide and conquer.

Canada has a 12% chance of being destroyed
blackbird replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm praying for peace. With North Korea threatening the U.S. with nuclear weapons and working on building an ICBM there is lots to consider. But now Iran has been making some statements lately and that raises concerns. Actually Iran might be a bigger threat in the long run because it is a far larger and more developed country than N. Korea. Iran already has nuclear reactors and can probably produce the ingredients for hydrogen bombs. I understand the deal signed with Iran does not include the right of the UN to go anywhere unannounced to inspect the country for violations of the non-nuclear agreement. That was signed by Obama's administration I believe. Very bad deal if they can't be monitored. -

I certainly would not gloat or wish such a thing on anyone. Good grief!

Yes, sorry if I'm being mean.
