Bring back capital punishment with help from MAID.
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It happens occasionally, but the justice system could be written in law in a way to make that an extremely unlikely event. The point is by not doing this you are allowing someone like the mass murderer of six people, grandparents, parents, and the two young girls, to escape the punishment due. Now here he is applying for parole every few years and putting the relatives through a long period of stress, grief and a requirement to fight against his parole. You also never mentioned that having no capital punishment means there may be far more murders taking place than if there was that deterrent. Are you saying it is better to let a lot of murders of innocent people to happen to avoid the remote possibility a person being incorrectly executed? How is that reasonable? Six people were murdered in the example. One of the main purposes of capital punishment is to save lives. That is mentioned in the article on Genesis 9:6 I posted, yet you say it is a misinterpretation. Nonsense. It is absolutely correct. Capital punishment is a major deterrent. It could save many lives of innocent people. In what way did I misuse scripture? Genesis 9:6 is very clear. Capital punishment for murder. How would you know what a real Christian is when you reject the Bible. -

NO it is not sick. Your response is sick as well. Nobody is saying that any innocent person should receive the death penalty. The system has safeguards such as the justice system, defence lawyers, evidence, and a jury that requires a unanimous verdict. Then it has an appeal system and the defence lawyers can appeal any decision if they have sufficient grounds for an appeal. The reason why capital punishment is necessary and why it is required in Genesis 9:6 KJV is explained here: " To serve as a deterrent to murder The purpose of capital punishment in Genesis 9:6 KJV is to serve as a deterrent to murder and to ensure the continuity of life and the continuation of humanity's role in God's plan for creation. The commandment mandates that the death penalty be imposed on anyone who sheds the blood of another person, as it is a direct affront to God's image in humanity. This commandment is part of a broader context that includes Noah's responsibility to be fruitful and multiply, which would be threatened by murder. The death penalty is also a means to protect the sanctity of life and to uphold the law of God. GotQuestions.org+5 -

That is sick. He murdered the two grandparents, murdered the parents, then took the two young girls, held them for six days and raped them. Then murdered them. And you think he should live. Wow.... pure insanity. Evil -

Just on the news now. This guy murdered the girls two grandparents, the two parents, kidnapped two young girls, aged thirteen and eleven, while they were camping in Well's Grey Park and held them for a week, tortured them, and raped them and then he murdered both of them. He murdered six people in all. Now again after 25 years, even though he was turned down on a previous application for parole, he is applying again next. Meanwhile, the family collected over 100,000 signatures opposing his parole last time, and now they must spend the next year preparing again to oppose his parole application. This is unjust and puts the families through hell battling the parole of this murderer. The simple solution to all this could have been capital punishment for his horrendous crimes of murdering these six people. Watch this short video to get more details about this. Battle begins to have Wells Gray Park killer denied parole | Watch Watch the video of the Wells Grey Park mass murderer and tell me you think he should be allowed to live and receive parole. -

That is foolishness. Why would you suggest that? MAID is supposed to be painless. -

I never suggested anything like that. I don't think offenders should be tortured. I said capital punishment with MAID, which apparently is supposed to be very humane, at least according to its advocates. Would you agree? -

Nonsense. None believers like you have their own ideology that serves the powers of darkness. Nothing I say makes people more committed to darkness than they already are. What you are saying is just an excuse to try to silence people like me. People that live in darkness and under Satan's world system, don't suddenly become that way because of comments I make. I don't have that power. They already are that way. -

I was talking about higher level dealers, that sell in larger quantities, not some street dealer that sells a tiny amount. Repeat street dealer offenders should be dealt with more severely. The present system is a failure. There is no deterrent. Illegal drugs are killing thousands of people in B.C. alone. Why is it so easy for people to get drugs? Well, the answer is partly the NDP government is even supplying drugs for them. Ever thought of that? Go talk to the victims relatives. -

Do you know anything about Singapore? I don't think so. Singapore is not part of China. China does execute people, likely for anything. I wouldn't agree with that. Maybe they are doing the right thing with drug dealers though. I heard China doesn't have tent cities on its streets and doesn't have homeless people. They don't have people shooting up drugs openly on the streets. They don't have people begging for money everywhere like Canada now. Canada could learn something from China on drug crime prevention. -

The Devil would love your understanding of the Bible. Jesus did not mean the state should turn a blind eye to murderers. Jesus was talking about individual forgiveness of those that offend you, not letting criminals off for their crimes. You don't have much of a clue what the Bible means. -
How Confederation (Canada) is shafting western Canada
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You're dreaming. Canadians do not see themselves as Americans at all. We are totally sovereign. Even if some province or provinces separated from the Confederation called Canada, they would remain independent and be Constitutional Monarchies with the King as head of state. We do not have any desire to be part of the American Republic. That is not an option. America is a melting pot system. Canadians do not believe in that system and want nothing to do with it. Canadians lean more to the belief in the rights of individuals, not rule by a dictatorial leader implemented with masked men arresting whoever without warrant or justification. -

You still fighting the revolutionary war from 250 years ago? The U.S. already became independent and formed the republic long ago. So why carry on here like a little child screaming for another country to join you? You do your thing; we do our thing. Respect other's choice made hundreds of years ago. -

So you think the taxpayers should spend millions of dollars to rehabilitate murderers, including mass murderers? You believer murderers deserve to be rehabilitated? How insane is that? Murderers deserve the death penalty. No ifs ands or buts... Public safety comes first. But you want to force the public to pay for rehab of murderers and millions of dollars for incarceration, counselling, and attempts to rehab killers. How sick is that thinking? Pretty tragic way of thinking I would say. -

No it's not and the fact that you think it is bespeaks a problem with discretion and common sense. Common sense???? Where is the common sense in what you say if you think it is fine to let dangerous offenders, murderers continue to live? They are being released on parole and some go out to commit serious crimes again. Some kill people. So how is that reasonable? You know full well the system is not going to change to protect society. The safety of society comes first. Why do you ignore that? -

You answered so fast I doubt you even really read what I posted above. The fact is capital punishment is the only way to eliminate serious dangerous killers from society and keep the public safe. Look at the history of attacks and murders from people let out on parole or bail. The public has a right to feel safe. They don't now. -

Yes, I know the justice system is far from perfect. But if you boil down what you just said, it means we should have no justice system because you don't trust the authorities or government at all. That makes no sense at all. We must have a justice system and it must be as good as possible. That is why we have juries that have to be unanimous in their decisions on guilt of the accused. There is also the appeal process where a person found guilty can appeal his sentence if his lawyer believes there are reasonable grounds. You seem to be hung up on capital punishment for murderers. Yet you are ok with the repeated killing of innocent people and just letting murderers get relatively light sentences and parole. Often they are released on bail and go out and attack other innocent people. People have been stabbed to death by offenders on bail. There have been mass killings by people on parole such as the one on the Cree Nation a few years ago. You seem ok with allowing that kind of system to continue. You seem to be very unbalanced on the criminal's rights side. You can't just continue to let thousands of people die from drugs while giving drug dealers light sentences. Then you worry about a few of these killers being given capital punishment that might save countless lives. That is a huge problem. You are overly obsessed with the authorities charging the wrong person. But that is why we have a justice system where every charge must be proven in court and be unanimous by a jury. That is the only way we have a hope of reducing the number of killings of innocent people who don't deserve to die. Murderers deserve capital punishment. That is the bottom line. -

Ask the liberals who are in control of a failed justice system that is lenient on murderers and drug dealers. Ask the relatives of all the drug addicts who lost their lives whether they think the justice system is working. -

Nothing to do with conservatives other than some of them would support capital punishment for murderers. Elected members who do not support that are not acting for the public's safety. Government already brought in MAID which is killing tens of thousands of people per year. If you are law abiding, government won't bother you. Capital punishment would only be for those who have been fairly tried and convicted of murder and drug dealing over a certain quantity. If you don't do those crimes, government would not have the power to kill you. You are imagining things. Only the justice system would have that power. -

Nonsense. Nobody needs to prove anything. Just pass a law and start eliminating all the drug dealers and murderers. Problem solved. -
We can see how Confederation (Canada as one country) is a losing proposition for western provinces. Alberta's energy industry gets hammered. No more pipeline laws. Tanker ban on the BC north coast. Now the agriculture industry on the prairies is being destroyed because Ottawa put 100% tariffs on EVs from China to protect the auto industry down in Ontario. Yet western Canada has been paying billions of dollars to Quebec in equalization payments. So what is the benefit of western Canada being in Confederation? It all seems to be a losing deal for the west. All take by central Canada and no give.

Do you understand that applies to the criminals who break the law and commit murder? You sound like you have it backwards. The state has the right to execute murderers. When the state carries out capital punishment for murder, that is not murder. That is justice. "6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Genesis 9:6 KJV Everyone is subject to the authorities. Those who break the law and murder other people are subject to the law and justice system and that could include capital punishment. When the state executes a criminal as punishment for murder, that is not murder. "1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. {ordained: or, ordered} 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. " Romans 13:1-6 KJV -
We know that is your mantra; it is a religion to you.

Unfortunately science is being falsely used to claim something that has not been proven. quote The Illusion of a Climate Crisis: Unveiling the Truth About “Fake” Climate Change Climate change is not “fake” in the sense that it’s a complete fabrication; the climate is changing, as it always has. However, the narrative portraying catastrophic, human-caused global warming leading to imminent societal collapse is demonstrably exaggerated and often based on flawed scientific models and politically motivated agendas. Understanding the Core Misconceptions The idea that climate change is “fake” stems from several key arguments that challenge the dominant narrative. These include doubts about the degree of human influence, the accuracy of climate models, and the effectiveness of proposed solutions. Moreover, critics point to natural climate variability, historical climate fluctuations, and the politicization of climate science as reasons to question the accepted dogma. The Role of Natural Climate Variability The Earth’s climate has always fluctuated. Ice ages, warm periods, and significant shifts in weather patterns have occurred throughout history, long before industrialization. The current warming trend is often attributed solely to human activity, ignoring the powerful influence of natural cycles such as solar variations, volcanic activity, and ocean currents like the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO). These natural forces contribute significantly to climate variability and should not be discounted when assessing the causes and effects of current changes. Solar Activity and Its Impact The sun’s energy output isn’t constant; it varies over time. Cycles of increased and decreased solar activity can influence Earth’s temperature. While solar variations are relatively small in the context of total energy received by Earth, they can still play a role in regional and global climate patterns. The Influence of Volcanic Eruptions Volcanic eruptions release large amounts of aerosols and gases into the atmosphere. While some gases, like carbon dioxide, contribute to warming, the aerosols can temporarily cool the planet by reflecting sunlight back into space. The Questionable Accuracy of Climate Models Climate models are complex computer simulations used to predict future climate scenarios. However, these models are not perfect and have several limitations. Oversimplification: Models often oversimplify complex natural processes, such as cloud formation and ocean circulation, leading to inaccuracies. Dependence on Assumptions: Models rely on numerous assumptions about future emissions, population growth, and technological advancements, which can significantly affect the outcomes. Historical Data Limitations: The accuracy of climate models depends on the availability and quality of historical data. In some regions, historical climate records are incomplete or unreliable. The Problem with Feedback Loops Climate models struggle to accurately represent feedback loops, which are processes that amplify or diminish the effects of climate change. For example, the melting of ice reduces Earth’s reflectivity (albedo), leading to further warming. Accurately modeling these feedback loops is crucial for reliable predictions, but current models often fall short. The Politicization of Climate Science Climate science has become increasingly politicized, with governments, organizations, and individuals promoting specific agendas. This can lead to bias in research funding, publication of studies, and dissemination of information. Critics argue that the pressure to conform to the dominant narrative can stifle dissenting voices and hinder objective scientific inquiry. The IPCC and Its Role The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a leading international body for assessing climate change. While the IPCC’s reports provide valuable information, they are often perceived as overly alarmist and biased towards emphasizing the role of human activity. The Exaggerated Threat and Ineffective Solutions Many proposed solutions to climate change, such as carbon taxes and renewable energy mandates, are economically costly and may not be effective in significantly reducing global emissions. Critics argue that these policies can harm economic growth, disproportionately affect low-income communities, and ultimately fail to achieve their intended goals. The Ineffectiveness of Renewable Energy While renewable energy sources like solar and wind are growing, they are intermittent and require substantial investment in infrastructure and energy storage. They also have environmental impacts, such as land use and resource depletion. unquote Why is climate change fake? - The Institute for Environmental Research and Education NOTE "Climate science has become increasingly politicized, with governments, organizations, and individuals promoting specific agendas." Yes, governments like the Liberals in Canada have used the fear factor to gain votes. They paint the picture that only they can save us from climate change. As noted in the previous post Canada only emits 1.47% of the world's CO2 while China emits almost 34%. So even if Canada were able to reduce it's emissions by one quarter, which is extremely unlikely, it would still be unable to reduce the total CO2 being emitted by the rest of world. So why are we sacrificing our economy and prosperity of Canadians for something so vague and unrealistic? It just doesn't make sense. Sure we should improve our forest fire fighting readiness and capability. That would make some sense. But this whole climate change agenda of the environmentalists is not going to help Canadians and is not going to stop climate change. Wake up!
