Canada bought about 1.5 billion dollars worth of oil from Saudi Arabia in 2023. This sounds like a lot of oil. Canada should be supporting our own oil industry in Alberta which would bring in billions of dollars additional royalties and taxes and create thousands more jobs. It is bizarre that we have to import our oil from other countries instead of supporting our own oil industry. It would seem especially important now with Trump's tariffs to be supporting our own industries. Once shunned, Saudi crown prince is Trump’s guest of honour. Canada is warming up, too

Yes, there have been lots of regimes and rulers down through history that did not respect basic human rights. That is a characteristic of a corrupt and fallen world. Only Jesus saves through his written word, the King James Bible. -
OTTAWA — An advocate for murdered and missing Indigenous women said Monday the release of a man who killed two women in Manitoba is another outrage from a justice system that victimizes Indigenous women and girls. Melissa Robinson said she was shocked and angry when she first heard last week that Shawn Lamb had been granted statutory release. Lamb pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the 2012 deaths of two Indigenous women — Carolyn Sinclair and Lorna Blacksmith — and was sentenced to 20 years the following year. Lamb received statutory release earlier this month after serving two-thirds of his sentence. Calls for justice system reform follow release of man who killed two Indigenous women Just another example of the disaster of the Liberal justice system.

Yes, you might be a closet Catholic. I think ExFlyer is a closet Catholic, same as herbie. There has to be some religious reason why they hate Bible-believing Christians so much. -

No, evolution has never been proven. No science class in high school has ever proven evolution or that man is the cause of climate change. You are making things up now. -

No, I already explained science is a man-made pursuit of knowledge of our universe, which is fine. The Bible is about the supernatural or spiritual matters and was given to us by God. It is nonsense to argue. One either believes in God and his word or believes science is some kind of god and has all the answers. When it comes to the origins of the universe and life, science does not have the answers and cannot because it all happened long ago. Nobody observed evolution and it is admitted to be just a theory. -

No, I didn't "run away" from it. I think we realized it was hopeless. We weren't getting anywhere. You had your own ideas and if I recall, you weren't listening to anything. Do you believe what the Bible says, that God would preserve his word? Psalm 12:6, 7 KJV? -

Nothing hypocritical about what I said. I just pointed out that the theory of evolution was only a theory. It contradicts the Bible and many scientists even reject the theory. It is just not a reasonable explanation. The theory has caused more people to doubt the Bible. The Bible has many accounts of supernatural events. Both evolution and the Bible can't be correct. I believe the Bible because it was inspired by God. But also, it makes more sense than a theory than can't be proven and doesn't explain how a such a complex universe came to be, except to claim it was all an accident. -

No, nothing is missed. The KJV is based on the Received Text which is an accurate copy of the original manuscripts. That means that the inspiration is carried through the Received Text in the KJV in English. It is not missing anything and is inerrant and inspired. Not because the translators were inspired but because God promised in his word to preserve it and he did preserve it for 1,900 years. It is called providential preservation. Sorry, I will have to look back and see what happened. -

Actually most of the Bible is meant to be taken literally. Some of it is history too. Today we live in a world where many Christians have been deceived about a lot of things. The modern Bible versions is an example. They are corrupt and are made from a few corrupt manuscripts. I have had a major interest in the Bible version issue. God promises in various verses in the Bible that he would preserve his words. Not just the concepts or ideas, but the actual words. That being the case, where is it? Since the only Bible that is based on the Received Text or Textus Receptus is the King James Bible of 1611 or Authorized Version, then that is God's preserved word. After 1,800 years, the new versions started coming out about 145 years ago. They are not based on the Received Text and differ with the King James Bible in thousands of places. They must be rejected as corrupt and not God's real word. Many people have been deceived or know nothing about the versions or where they came from and therefore use them. I will stick to God's preserved words in the King James Bible. -

The correct interpretation of the Bible is to take it literally unless there is sound reason to not take it literally. In the account of creation in Genesis, it should be taken literally. God is not subject to science or the scientific method. God does things supernaturally. That is how he created the universe in six days. Google professor Philip Stott if you wish to hear the views of a scientist who beliefs in God. He is a mathematician and an expert on the creation/evolution debate. He said the laws of probability in mathematics shows there is not enough time in the universe for life to be created by pure chance coming together of molecules. On top of that, RNA and DNA are extremely complex and long chains of information that couldn't happen by chance. It all required a infinitely powerful designer Creator to create things. The bottom line is creation was a supernatural act. As for the apparent age of everything, it seems reasonable to believe God created everything with an apparent age. He didn't just create seeds for plants and trees. He created them as actual grown plants and trees. Same with animals and humans. He created them full grown. That explains why the earth has an appearance of being millions of years old. God simply created everything with an age. -

Eyeball hopes "science" opposes Christian beliefs, but that's because he doesn't understand the Bible or real science. The two are totally different. Science is about observing how things work in this world while the Bible is about spiritual matters. You can't mix the two or try to use science to debunk the Bible because they are totally different. -

A lot of truth in that statement. As a Protestant Christian, I disagree with the Catholic religion, but I still like individual Catholics. I have had Catholic friends in the past and we have sometimes been able to discuss the Bible rationally, although we usually can't seem to agree. Rome tells them how they must interpret the Bible and they have no choice. It is a top down controlling religion. Protestantism is the opposite. We believe in individual freedom of belief and choice. The Bible is the only rule of faith and practice, not the Pope, priest or anyone else. There are many different kinds of individuals too. Some are open-minded and others are close-minded. You never know how individuals will be. The bottom line is we live in a country where I think most people are tolerant of other people expressing different beliefs even though they don't agree. Many other countries in the world do not have that tolerance. I think it has to do with out history. I would just add that in spite of the reasonableness of many ordinary Catholics, the Vatican is opposed to Bible-believing Christians. They would rather embrace Muslims, Hindus, atheists, liberals, but not real Bible believers, because it opposes their system. You can't mix water and oil. -

You are the one who made the generalized accusation about communion and I simply pointed out the error. All churches, or those who call themselves churches, don't believe the same thing about communion. Now it appears you are trying to divert to your old crutch called science. Never admit you don't know what you're talking about. You are in way over your head. -

That is mainly the false church of Rome that believes that and possibly the Anglican Church in some way, but the Bible-believing evangelical churches do not believe that way. Don't paint all churches with the same brush because it is a false claim. There are many shades of belief in churches on some things but many share the same beliefs on certain fundamentals. -

Not sure what you mean by consuming creatures for medicinal reasons. Bible-believing Christians do not do that. As I already said many time, there are many false religions in the world. Believing in the Bible is not superstitious or weird. Jesus said "12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. " John 8:12 KJV Jesus proved he is the Son of God and proved what he said is the truth. You can call that what you want, but the truth is what counts. You have to believe in Jesus Christ and believe he is God and the Son of God who died for your sins to receive forgiveness, salvation or eternal life. Jesus proved who he is by many miracles. He even raised Lazarus from the dead. " 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. " John 11:39-44 King James Bible -

Probably because Christians behaved the very same way as any other dumbass heathen. This is where you obviously know nothing about history and are making false assumptions. You need to read some history. Foxe's Book of Martyrs is a good place to start and is available free to read online. quote In the fourteenth century, many of the Waldenses of Pragela and Dauphiny, emigrated to Calabria, and settling some waste lands, by the permission of the nobles of that country, they soon, by the most industrious cultivation, made several wild and barren spots appear with all the beauties of verdure and fertility. The Calabrian lords were highly pleased with their new subjects and tenants, as they were honest, quiet, and industrious; but the priests of the country exhibited several negative complaints against them; for not being able to accuse them of anythying bad which they did do, they founded accusations on what they did not do, and charged them, With not being Roman Catholics. With not making any of their boys priests. With not making any of their girls nuns. With not going to Mass. With not giving wax tapers to their priests as offerings. With not going on pilgrimages. With not bowing to images. The Calabrian lords, however, quieted the priests, by telling them that these people were extremely harmless; that they gave no offence to the Roman Catholics, and cheerfully paid the tithes to the priests, whose revenues were considerably increased by their coming into the country, and who, of consequence, ought to be the last persons to complain of them. Things went on tolerably well after this for a few years, during which the Waldenses formed themselves into two corporate towns, annexing several villages to the jurisdiction of them. At length they sent to Geneva for two clergymen; one to preach in each town, as they determined to make a public profession of their faith. Intelligence of this affair being carried to the pope, Pius the Fourth, he determined to exterminate them from Calabria. To this end he sent Cardinal Alexandrino, a man of very violent temper and a furious bigot, together with two monks, to Calabria, where they were to act as inquisitors. These authorized persons came to St. Xist, one of the towns built by the Waldenses, and having assembled the people, told them that they should receive no injury, if they would accept of preachers appointed by the pope; but if they would not, they should be deprived both of their properties and lives; and that their intentions might be known, Mass should be publicly said that afternoon, at which they were ordered to attend. The people of St. Xist, instead of attending Mass, fled into the woods, with their families, and thus disappointed the cardinal and his coadjutors. The cardinal then proceeded to La Garde, the other town belonging to the Waldenses, where, not to be served as he had been at St. Xist, he ordered the gates to be locked, and all avenues guarded. The same proposals were then made to the inhabitants of La Garde, as had previously been offered to those of St. Xist, but with this additional piece of artifice: the cardinal assured them that the inhabitants of St. Xist had immediately come into his proposals, and agreed that the pope should appoint them preachers. This falsehood succeeded; for the people of La Garde, thinking what the cardinal had told them to be the truth, said they would exactly follow the example of their brethren at St. Xist. The cardinal, having gained his point by deluding the people of one town, sent for troops of soldiers, with a view to murder those of the other. He, accordingly, despatched the soldiers into the woods, to hunt down the inhabitants of St. Xist like wild beasts, and gave them strict orders to spare neither age nor sex, but to kill all they came near. The troops entered the woods, and many fell a prey to their ferocity, before the Waldenses were properly apprised of their design. At length, however, they determined to sell their lives as dear as possible, when several conflicts happened, in which the half-armed Waldenses performed prodigies of valor, and many were slain on both sides. The greatest part of the troops being killed in the different rencontres, the rest were compelled to retreat, which so enraged the cardinal that he wrote to the viceroy of Naples for reinforcements. The viceroy immediately ordered a proclamation to be made thorughout all the Neapolitan territories, that all outlaws, deserters, and other proscribed persons should be surely pardoned for their respective offences, on condition of making a campaign against the inhabitants of St. Xist, and continuing under arms until those people were exterminated. Many persons of desperate fortunes came in upon this proclamation, and being formed into light companies, were sent to scour the woods, and put to death all they could meet with of the reformed religion. The viceroy himself likewise joined the cardinal, at the head of a body of regular forces; and, in conjunction, they did all they could to harass the poor people in the woods. Some they caught and hanged up upon trees, cut down boughs and burnt them, or ripped them open and left their bodies to be devoured by wild beasts, or birds of prey. Many they shot at a distance, but the greatest number they hunted down by way of sport. A few hid themselves in caves, but famine destroyed them in their retreat; and thus all these poor people perished, by various means, to glut the bigoted malice of their merciless persecutors. The inhabitants of St. Xist were no sooner exterminated, than those of La Garde engaged the attention of the cardinal and viceroy. unquote FOXE'S BOOK OF MARTYRS Get a book on the History of the Inquisition. What you didn't mention is the cost of changing to an EV. That would put millions of people into huge debt. What about the hundreds of millions of people who already own a perfectly good gas/diesel vehicle? If they were to sell them or trade them in and buy an EV, they would lose tens of thousands of dollars and owe 50 thousand dollars or more. How is that cheaper? The populations of the world cannot afford to do that. -

Then why were millions of the true Bible-believing Christians killed in the last 2,000 years by those following false religions or by the heathen? Why do you not believe the Bible that says to love thy neighbour as thyself? Don't you think that is the way the world should think? What about the commandments in the Bible to love God, love thy neighbour, do not steal, do not kill, etc.? Do you really believe all those commandments taught in the Bible are bad? Or do you believe Socialism/Communism or some other man-made ideology will bring peace to the world? If the Bible and Christianity is as bad as you claim, what do you have to offer in its place? -

Do you know why mankind often doesn't get along? Of course not. -
Circumcision is not unholy. It has often been done for health reasons. I am not sure why you would use that as an example. It doesn't fall into the category of body markings either. You seem to be reaching. I never said cosmetic procedures or ear piercing were wrong either. Not sure what kind of cosmetic procedure you're talking about. Again you are reaching. Clothing styles are a grey area. Depends. I gave you N.T. verses to show how women are to dress modestly. quote Modification – Since the Bible does not explicitly forbid tattoos, are there any limits? We know our body is not our own but God’s temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Bible highly views the body as God’s handiwork, which is not to be disfigured. Non-Israelites did not hold this view. Today, some have permanently modified their bodies to look more like animals or aliens than humans, who alone are created in his image. We must ask ourselves how much we can modify our bodies to suit our desires while not disfiguring the beauty of the human form as God made it. Motive for a Tattoo – Why get a tattoo? If it is in rebellion to parents, it is clearly not acceptable (Ephesians 6:1-3). And while artistic self-expression can be OK, our primary motive for anything we do should be to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31). This means seeking to honor and draw attention to him, not ourselves. Getting a tattoo for purposes of a witness may be acceptable, but remember, this is not the primary or most effective way to evangelize. It is in no way a substitute for verbally communicating the gospel. You are not fulfilling the Great Commission simply because you have a Bible verse tattoo. Modesty – Modesty means not being self-promoting. Are you seeking to direct people’s thoughts toward God or yourself? Tattoos often accentuate certain body areas and get our thoughts on that body part. It is hard to believe that anyone with a “tramp stamp” (a tattoo on the lower back) is seeking to direct people’s thoughts toward God. Thinking modestly will lead you to think about, and even limit, the size, number, and locations of tattoos. Marketability – Will employers want to hire you? Numerous companies don’t want your tattoo to be visible, and it can prevent you from being hired. Many employers will restrict your tattoos, requiring you to cover them up because they are not socially acceptable from a business standpoint. Message of the Tattoo – What is it about yourself that you want to communicate to the world? Tattoos are powerful messages, automatically conveying what you value. They are nearly permanent and will likely be with you for life. A growing experience with tattoos is officially called “tattoo regret.” As you mature, you may, like increasing numbers of people, regret your tattoos because you have outgrown their messages and changed your values. Money – Is this the wisest use of money? One website, Tattoo Info, says, “In America, you can expect a basic price of $80 to $100 an hour...very few shops will ever touch you for less than $40” (2004-2009). We are responsible to God for how we use our money. It’s also important to remember that the removal technologies being developed are even more expensive than the cost of getting a tattoo in the first place. Medical concerns – There are real health risks with tattoos. The Mayo Clinic warns, “Don’t take tattooing lightly”. They’ve resulted in severe allergic reactions, infections, unsightly scars, and blood-borne diseases like Hepatitis B and C. Tattooing deliberately opens the skin and exposes your blood to unknown bacteria. Tattoo parlors are not medical clinics, although they puncture the skin and expose blood. Please, think before you ink. Don’t make this decision hastily or rashly. Use these guiding questions to think through your decision. Discuss them with mature Christian adults you trust. Join in the discussion and let us know your thoughts in the Crosswalk.com Forum! What Does the Bible Say About Tattoos...Are They Sinful? | Crosswalk.com

You are hiding behind some phony claim that somehow a Hebrew, covenantal argument means something different than the plain command. It is clear in English. We don't need the Hebrew. Just because the word tattoo is not used in the New Testament doesn't mean it is acceptable to be tattooed. We are to be holy and holiness doesn't include marking the body up with tattoos. It's the same reason we shouldn't put rings in our noses or other heathen practices that savages in the jungle do. Our goal should be to say like Paul, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1).
