  1. I wasn't talking globally, but I understand your point. There's a few things I'd rather not fund with our healthcare dollars either, but......
  2. I'd rather help pay for all of them, than deny rape victims, incest victims, women whose men have abandoned the family the availability and cost. But then, I'm Canadian.
  3. You think abortions are done for the "ease" of them?
  4. I really do think those women are rare. For "many" women - abortion is an angonizingly gut-wrenching decision. It is a very emotionally charged issue and the numbers, data and deduction do not reflect that there are real, actual people behind those numbers. For that reason, I believe it is a decision best left to the individual women and their doctors.
  5. OK. It seemed that's what you were proposing. My apologies for misunderstanding. While it's nice when the US takes the lead in helping underdeveloped nations, etc.....I understand your argument here. The US is certainly not obligated to fund anything in any other countries. Maybe stick to that line of argument, instead of the other. I do appreciate your "American perspective" on things and enjoy reading your posts.
  6. You are certainly having some serious issues with reading comprehension.
  7. You're rolling 2 different trains of thought into one. It doesn't say how many of those 125,000 are "multiple" abortions. You've concluded on your own that "many" of them are and that "many" women use abortion as a birth control method. So let's go with 125,000/day. 1. You realize these were not immaculate conceptions, right? That means there are 125,000 men involved here too. 2. 125,000 is just a number - I'm interested in the actual 125,000 women. What are their stories? Of the 2 abortions I arranged at the Clinic, 1 was for a young woman who had been date-raped and the other was for a single mother of 3 whose boyfriend buggered off to Quebec when he found out she was expecting, so he didn't have to pay child support. Both of these women were faced with heart-wrenching decisions, and I know they were not just decided on a whim - there were likely many tears and aftermath. I suspect there are more women in those kinds of situations, than there are women using abortions as a birth control method. 3. You can judge and label these women anything you want, but I would also have a few choice labels and judgments for the men involved. How does banning abortion help these women?
  8. I disagree with your assessment of what constitutes "many". I'm sure there are "some" women. You know who else believes "many" Women are degenerate sluts? The Taliban.
  9. 1500 teenagers. Likely poor and uneducated, it doesn't say the parameters. That's your "MANY WOMEN"? In my entire life I've never known any grown women that view abortion as a birth control method. In 2 years managing a doctors office, I arranged 2 abortions for our over 5000 patients. No. "Many" women do not view abortion as a birth control method.
  10. Quite a few companies use computers to weed out applications. They search your resume for certain words or phrases. If you haven't used them in your resume, it's rejected before anyone even sees it. For instance, if the job listing requires post-secondary education or a certain number of years of experience and your resume doesn't have the correct wording, it's rejected outright.
  11. No. Many women do not.
  12. If it were men, there would be a 100% sure birth control method, no government intervention or religious group intervention in the decisions they make with their own bodies and maternity clothes would be much more fashionable.
  13. How about mandatory sterilizations for the men?
  14. How true. The GGR has failed miserably twice and you are still pushing for it.
  15. It has been explained to you. With links. Over and over. If you ask one more time for an "explanation" then you are being willfully ignorant.
  16. You want to oppress some human beings in order to not oppress other human beings?
  17. It results in MORE abortions and LESS healthcare for women.
  18. Re-read the thread!!!! It's been explained and links posted.
  19. Betsy, I have never been in the position of having to make a choice regarding abortion. But I get the impression that you think there are vast line-ups of irresponsible women who are using abortion as a birth-control method. While that may be the case for some, (and I'm sure their doctors would discuss with them the ramifications of repeated abortions on their reproductive systems and recommend a form of birth-control.) I don't think you have considered the true results of what Trump has done. Abortion is not a choice for ME, personally. However, if I were in the posiiton described by Hillary (that you so gleefully ignored - TWICE) I would want that choice to be made by ME and my DOCTOR. Not the government. And I agree that all women should have that choice.
  20. Re-read the thread.
  21. Does this statement apply to Trump, too? Or just people you personally don't agree with?
  22. Your response came so fast, you clearly did not even read her comments that I cited for you. And you certainly did zero reflection on it.
  23. Trump doesn't even know what he thinks about it. He stumbled and bumbled around the question during the debate. Hillary at least has a clear understanding of ALL the ramifications. http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2016/10/19/hillary_clinton_s_debate_answer_on_abortion_is_why_we_need_more_women_in.html My mother (in the '60's) found out 2 weeks before her due date that the baby was nearly dead and would not survive. She was forced to carry a dead baby around until she went into labor and then had to physically birth a dead child. Do you even understand how devastating that is?
  24. That is not your decision to make. That is between a woman and her doctor.
  25. http://time.com/4644042/mexico-city-policy-abortion-womens-health/ It's a political football that's gone back and forth a few times and has been proven to be a failure both times it was invoked. Trump actually expanded on it and made it worse.
