Fusion experiment reaches halfway point
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Health, Science and Technology
There is a lot of fusion research going on in Canada at McMaster, UofT (Institute for Aerospace Studies), Queens, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, UQUaM, General Fusion, USask (Plasma Physics Lab), and U Alberta -
The Memo Scandal (Three Paragraphs)

What a load of Republican bull being fed to the low intellect. An exact copy of the data contained on the servers was indeed turned over the the FBI as they requested. The physical servers themselves remained at the DNC. This is like turning over the visitor log to the White House in an investigation, no need to close down the White House and have the FBI move in. Only computer illiterate Republican voters (most of them) would not understand this. -
America under President Trump

Another 1000 point drop in the Dow, this is twice in a single week. Trump is sure good for the economy. -
Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?

Not closing Guantánamo was certainly one of his failings. He did start out by signing an executive order on his second day in office to close it within a year, but then began the long fight with many in the Pentagon, foreign governments, and other politicians. He did manage to reduce its population by over 90%, but it seems there is still a strong desire to create a loophole in the US Constitution by the lawbreakers. -

No, Trump was talking down to those who couldn't figure it out. -
Is the Conservative Party spineless and cowardly?
?Impact replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes, but what are those ideas? It seems that the derogatory labels are always put on when those ideas do not agree with those using the labels. Yes, appealing to a broad base by some might be considered spineless, but perhaps it is just reflective of society. -
Did you even spend a nanosecond reading it? Executive summary, main findings for starters.

Justin Trudeau the Worst PM Since Pierre Trudeau?

What would be said year ago when someone used the term Tubby? We would get outrage and posts flagged and deleted. Now however the self righteous continually try the same bullcrap. Yes Caroline Mulroney will be interesting, but she has yet to even participate in a general election as a backbench candidate at any level of government. Give her another 6-8 years before trumping her out as a leadership candidate. -
Yet, the Chief Actuary of Canada disagrees with you. It would be interesting to see your CV, and actuarial report on the CPP.

Carter Page has a long history of working with the Russians, long before he worked for Trump. The spying was on that Russian traitor, not Trump. If Trump is dumb enough to employ a Russian, then that is on him. Who said that the President, who was not even running, even accessed the Russian traitors conversations? -

America under President Trump
?Impact replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Trump claims credit for highs continually, so yes he is 100% responsible for this loss and all the more because it was his tax plan speech that caused it and that is proven by the fact that 500 of those points occurred during it. -
How about the benefits of neckties, vests, one-sleeved shirts, furry sandals, etc?

500 points down during Trump's tax plan speech this morning. I would say the cause is fairly obvious. -

The largest stock market single day drop in history - that is history, including the great depression. Thank you Donald Trump for your leadership. -
Obviously you didn't read what I wrote. Where did I ever say that a fairy tale is better than peer reviewed research? You are the confused one. First of all he has posted some totally unscientific claims that I previously pointed out. Second, his article is not taken seriously by the scientific community. He is talking way outside his field, and has failed to provide anything of substance so he is ignored - that is refutation. As I suggested before, if you are really interested you would be far better served by reading Jack Szostak. He is one of the preeminent researchers in this field and has plenty of scientific publications along with high level summaries for the general public; he even has a few youtube videos if you don't want to read.

I took it to mean halfway constructing the research facility, but I can see how that can be lost in the hype. -

Except of course nobody did spy on the candidate, that is a lie that the Donald keeps telling to his followers but there is not a single nanogram of truth to it. -
President Oprah Winfrey in January 2021?
?Impact replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Since the usual target seems to be the University of California (Berkley) I though I would look at their budget 18% is from government contracts & grants 11% is from state general funds The rest is from private funds, sales, student tuition, etc. -

So I can demand as much time as I want on PBS because they get public funding? I want to have a 6 hour daily show about salt, and PBS must provide me the platform according to your rules.
