I'm listening to Tom Wright (former CFL commissioner) current UFC Canada Chair on Newstalk 1010. He's saying this program is more of a community outreach program and not meant to "teach fighting in school". Of course the great journalist at The Star didn't think to call him or anything.

Yeah sounds pretty horrible. Kids can never benefit from those things.

And one would consider he'll continue to get better. Other than this week against the Bears he'll have some pretty soft defenses to warm up on. He might see the Ravens or Steelers in the playoffs.

I can't but would you be opposed to Hockey or Football players being used in community programs? Professional Athletes are role models.

Maybe not "beyond compare" but it is a bit hypocritical if you ask me. We'd have to see which jobs the City are actually cutting. Are they redundant? We can trust the Star to objectively take a look at who's actually getting pink slips.

If you can have Football and Hockey players do that then yes I think it's OK for UFC fighters to do PSA or whatever is being asked of them.

Tebow So he had a slow first half. That's his MO in every game he's won this season. Did you see the throws he made in the second half? For every TD he was responsible for, Christian Ponder took the ball right down the field and met the challenge. In the second last drive Tebow threw an totally catchable TD Pass that was dropped. The drive ended with the tying FG. Then the Defense won the game with the late INT. BTW for people who like to mock Tebow's stats. 10 TDs 1 INT.

Another win! This time he had to make some clutch throws to keep pace. Denver didn't have Von Miller, their great defensive prospect in the lineup and until a late Christian Ponder INT, the Bronks Defense looked really bad. 3 of the last 4 games on Tebow's schedule are totally winnable. Dood is making the playoffs. Raiders got but raped in Miami today and they have Detroit and Green Bay on their schedule. Denver plays Chicago and their really bad back-up QB, New England and their really bad secondary. And to round out the season horrible Buffalo and KC.

You know it was just an example of a way I could kill grass like the Occupiers did. I would never pour bleach on grass just cuz. You really didn't need to go into that detail in how you would punish me if you ruled the world. But if you enjoyed thinking that up then all the power to you.

$30/Canadian is a great investment if it kept the many people who's employment is linked to the auto sector still employed. But it does boggle my mind what governments, even conservative ones spend money on.

So killing grass would get me arrested in your world? Glad I don't live in it. I don't have to pay this money to re-sod the park so I don't give a hoot. Just thought I'd bring that information forward. It is interesting that people call into question the actual cost of re-sodding the park. I would probably call it into question to, just about anything a public servants do is overpriced an not very efficient.
