Or Jello. I was talking to people about this at work. You also need an objective scoring system, which UFC currently doesn't have. You kind of know who wins each round based on take downs, landed punches and kicks and dominance but no scoring system. But then again you have sports like Diving, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Gymnastics etc that are all judgement sports that don't use objective standards like time or points to decide the winner, so who knows. Rugby 7's is coming into the Olympics in 2016. That's a contact sport where there the participants have almost no protection. (Mouth guard and minor headgear to protect the ears are all I can think of)

Lots of sports have been taken out and added throughout the history of the modern Olympics. Wrestling is just a version of Marshall Arts, Karate is one of the sports applying to be added, that's an ancient sport as well. MMA would need to have a global governing body. It meets all the requirements of an Olympics sport if it can make set international rules. UFC is the closest to this but that's just an organization within the greater sport.

This is exactly what Catholics don't do. The Old Testament is the old agreement between God and his people and much of it can be ignored. The New Testament simplifies things to principals that are just as applicable today as they were in the first century. No mention of Gays, Abortion OR Contraception. Catholics make stuff up as they go along because they believe God works through the Pope. I'd argue the Catholic Church is exactly the type of institution Jesus warned against when he raged against the problems with Judaism.

People training for the 2016 Olympics can still train. But is wrestling that popular a sport? I'm not sure of the numbers but the OIC must have its reasons.

Seems like the INM movement has petered out in the coverage it's getting from the MSM. I wonder if it's because of the obvious foolishness related to Teresa Spence and her mismanagement of her reserve yet she become the number one person related to this movement.

Never have I minimized the suffering of those involved. Is this the number one issue relating to the selection of a new Pope? If this Canadian Cardinal is selected Pope, should he be held responsible for sins of those who came before him?

Those are horrible things and those people should be dealt with harshly. And it certainly does matter. But whenever Catholics are discussed, is it fair to always mention this scandal?

Canada wins medals in Wrestling every Olympics it seems, nevertheless unless a Canadian stands to win a medal I would never watch a wrestling match. I'd argue MMA is a far more popular sport and far more interesting. Maybe baseball will make a comeback. Rugby and Golf are being introduced in 2016, both I'm very interested in seeing in the Olympics.

I'm not Catholic. I don't want to get into a practice of defending their doctrine because as a protestant I, quite frankly, find it silly. I know there are many here that find all religion silly but whatever. I read this morning that there are 400,000, or so, Catholic priests on Earth. How many molested kids? A few dozen, hundred, thousand? either way it only represents a tiny fraction of priests. It's not a wide spread crisis. But as soon as the Pope is mentioned the immediate response is he defend pedophiles. Perhaps he should have handled it different but people want to taint everything Catholics do with this scandal. Public Service Union defends it's members no matter what too. I also read a Quebec Cardinal is 7/5 odds to become the next Pope. That'd be pretty cool. Two African Cardinals are 4/1.
