  1. Q: How do you anger a Conservative? A: Tell them a lie.Q: How do you anger a Liberal? A: Tell them the truth.

  2. Looks like they already are going to break their promise. They’ve decided to settle the question within Parliament (and a House of Commons where they enjoy a comfortable and obedient majority), rather than consult with Canadians, as they had promised.
  3. Looks like the Liberals have decided to settle the question (of which electoral system to use) within Parliament (and a House of Commons where they enjoy a comfortable and obedient majority), rather than put the question to a national referendum.

  4. Or we need to reduce our expectation that the government is there to provide us everything in life.
  5. So you don't favor a referendum, yet you want to solicit the views of everyone.....makes complete left wing sense.
  6. Ohhhh! You mean like how Wynne is putting up wind turbines in rural areas where people don't want them?
  7. Still waiting for someone to illustrate what "the best of everything" means as Kimmy pointed out.
  8. Maybe the rhetoric should stop so an adult conversation can happen. OGFT continually uses the term "beating" a child. Huxley used that term as well. Nobody is here is advocating the "beating" a child. They are talking about "spanking" and minor physical parenting. Obviously giving a child a little smack on the bum as reminder that they are doing something wrong, or picking up a screaming child to remove them from a store is not going to ruin them for life. "Beating" a child is obviously NOT what people are discussing here. OGFT why don't you argue honestly and people may begin to look at your posts as constructive rather than argumentative.
  9. What a hypocrite. Harper was being criticized by the left and their public union supporters before he even became PM. Does anyone remember the "hidden agenda" mantra that was repeated over and over and over and over.....
  10. I thought in Canada the idea of multiculturalism was that we were supposed to be inclusive and respect the different cultures and languages. Seems these Mandarin speaking individuals are not being very inclusive with their meetings. That's not the Canadian way. I guess it's only white English speaking Canadians that are supposed to be inclusive. Many on this board have given examples of the problems with multiculturalism and have predicted this exact scenario.
  11. No idea what the hell you're talking about, but if it makes your day then....
  12. Yes, all that stuff is in the article. Yes I did read it. Yes I did have intentions of discussing....maybe, in your outrage, you missed the several questions I had asked in relation to said article. Again you are assuming I am arguing one way or another. BTW, I notice you have not really attempted to answer any of the questions I had asked. I guess you were busy trying to "expose" me for something or other....I don't know what it is you're trying to accomplish here.
  13. First, can you post a link or give evidence that the past generation had "the best of everything". I'm sure you can point out "some" govt. services that were available then, that aren't available now. But for every one you point out, I'll show you a service that wasn't available then, that is available now. Just one for example.....the govt's. paid maternity leave for all of our kids was 6 months. Chretien era introduced the 12 months mat leave for the ungrateful bunch of today. Second, I have been griping about high taxes ever since I started paying them...40 years ago....1975 was my first job. Unfortunately I work in the real world (not the public service) so I won't retiring any time soon And third, YES, after paying taxes for 40 years and rarely using the healthcare system during that time, I believe I deserve to get my healthcare now without having to wait. But then, parents of this generation like to tie up our healthcare system by bringing their iphone-toting, spoiled little offspring to the emergency every time they get a sniffle or a sore tummy because it's too inconvenient to make an appointment with their doctor. BTW those golfing freedom 55er's you refer to are most likely retired public servants.
  14. Post created 5 days ago, not one comment from the left.....typical.
  15. Wow, for a compassionate, cheerful, communicating, inclusive, sunny ways left winger, you sure have made a lot of assumptions and put a lot of discouraging words in my mouth. But don't worry you're a left winger, you can't help it. Maybe you could point out where I said the things you are saying I said. Oh wait.....you won't be able to because.....well...I didn't say them.
  16. Does anyone else see the irony of a young left wing person that has been singing the praises of the new left wing govt. (a govt. that is well on it's way to creating a $40b deficit) and then griping about how past gov'ts./generations have saddled her generation with debt?
  17. So you don't think the two are related....OK
  18. How long can public sector growth outpace private sector growth before there are economic ramifications? At what point does the "cart get turned upside down". What would be the ultimate balance? News articles have been reporting Canadians are too far in personal debt. Are Canadians also living above their means collectively as well (ie. social programs)? Will the new Trudeau gov't., Provincial gov'ts. and municipalities allow the trend to continue or will they curtail growth in the public sector? http://business.financialpost.com/news/economy/public-sector-crowding-out-private-job-growth-hampering-employment-opportunities-in-canada
  19. Yep, nothin' like hearing young-people complaining about how hard done by they are, all the while texting about it on their $800 iphone, while wearing their $120 lululemon pants, their $180 Air Jordan running shoes and sipping on a latte they pay $4 for every time they pass a Timmies. Times are tough.

Did Mulcair feel the need to tell his supporters to stop threatening Harper?

I think that says a lot about who's making the threats.

That a far right party was compelled to condemn death threats against their left wing rivals, but a far left party would not condemn death threats against their right wing rivals does say a lot squid. Thanks for pointing that out.

These are WildRose people making the threats.... the WildRose realizes it... hence the plea for their people to simmer down.
