You are forgetting that CPC speaks from the vision of Conservatopia. Where half of the population lives in shacks, shanty's or earthen clay homes... Where a large number of people starve to death, unable to find a job to feed themselves let alone a family... Where a large percentage of the population don't even have access to clean, potable water. Where large corporation are allowed to rape the environment with not penalty and leave the human survivors with the toxic remainders and cost of cleanup.

Are you unable to read a dictionary? Segregate -> SEPARATE people by relgious lines. It's not racial segregation. It's religious segregation. We are allow Catholics to segregate themselves from the rest of the secular world. In the end, everyone who supports the Catholic system is fighting a futile fight. It is just a matter of time before it vanishes into oblivion. People are becoming less religious and more knowledgeable about how things actually work. Maybe not in the next 20 years but, they'll be gone in the next 100.

Every year, destroying a child's ability to try the fun optional hands on courses like woodworking, auto and computer engineering. They aren't. The teachers are the same, except they hire more unqualified tech teachers and their science teachers have to be Catholic, meaning that your child may not actually be taught proper science. The curriculum is the same, except they don't offer nearly as many optional interest based courses. The kids are the same, except they are Catholic and forced to wear a uniform. If you put a cow in a suit, it's still a cow.

Segregation does apply. Catholics segregate themselves away from the secular world. If you don't call it segregation, you are avoiding the definition of segregation. Structure and Discipline is a Myth. As well as test scores. They score higher because they don't offer nearly as many high quality tech programs. These programs attract hands on but, not academic learners. They also kick out trouble makers because they don't "fit the catholic principles" instead of educating them.

The precedent is sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depending on how co-operatieve the government of the day is feeling. That is not the area of anger in this situation. This is: Step 1: Ban opposition members from representing Canada at Kyoto, Step 2: Discredit opposition members for not being at the conference. Again, that is 1984 esque. And that is what people are pissed about. They have already rigged the system so that they have the best ability to raise money of all parties. Keeping the party subsidies that they benefit from. They have already rigged the system by ensuring that the majority of new seats will cause a windfall for their party. Giving the largest proportion of new seats to conservative friendly provinces. We keep losing our ability to have fair and equitable democracy as long as the CPC is in power, currently with 36% support.... -

Wow. I'm sorry but, they are a elected representatives of Canadians. Do you honestly think that the CPC are the only legitimate members of government in Canada? That's sick and twisted. -

Did you actually read the list? “Slut” 1991: Tory MP Bill Kempling, to Liberal MP Sheila Copps. Kempling claims that he said, “What a pain in the butt.” “Chubby little sucker” 1997: Reform MP Darrel Stinson calls Progressive Conservative Leader Jean Charest a “fat little, chubby, little sucker” in the Commons, while the Canada Pension Plan is being debated. “You are one bitch” 1997: Reform MP Ian McClelland, to Sheila Copps “F-----g bastard.” 1991: A visibly angry Prime Minister Brian Mulroney allegedly calls Winnipeg Liberal MP David Walker a “f-----g bastard” during an attack by Walker on the government’s child-poverty record. Opposition MPs and a Canadian Press photographer in the Commons say they clearly heard Mulroney utter the phrase but the comment didn’t turn up in Hansard, nor was it audible on the sound recording. -
Segregating people of different faiths only leads to intolerance and ignorance. They are indoctrinated into believing they are better and different than others when in reality they are pretty much the same. Segregation can be optional (never for the child, of course... the parent decides to segregate), doesn't make it any better.

seg·re·ga·tion/ˌsegriˈgāSHən/Noun: 1.The action or state of setting someone or something apart from other people or things or being set apart. Segregation of people based on religion only leads to intolerance and ignorance. Segregation is what it is. Separate is the word used to try and make it sound better.

Faith based segregation is a bad idea. Increasing that segregation is a bad idea. The Catholic Board should be called Segregated System as it is a more fitting name. Allowing faith in public schools based on the community that the school is located I have no problem with. Equal opportunity based on demand to have Islam, Muslim, Christianity, Judaism, Paganism even Atheism. If it is optional and gives all religions the same opportunity based on community composition/interest, and no one is forced to take it, no problem.

Yep. Education benefits many aspects of society. - Innovation - Job Creation - Healthier Society - Efficiency If we were extending Topaz's thinking, if seniors didn't have to pay for the education system, I shouldn't have to pay for their health care after 60. The look on their faces when they realize that THEY are the larger drain on taxes than education would be priceless.

A constitutional guarantee that is basically a human rights violation with government sponsored religion. The guarantee was put in place because of religious intolerance between protestants and catholics of the time. Catholics are being trained to be intolerant of all other people. Segregated. Quebec is a Catholic province. It doesn't even have religion in its public system.

He spoke the truth. Kent was trying to discredit opposition MPs for not being at Kyoto. The CPC dictatorship did not allow them to attend . This is 1984-esque double speak. -
Identity of rogue teachers to be made public

I don't get the reference. Explain -
Easier than you think. The consitution does not say that their system has to be fully publicly funded. They just have a right to run their own system. Being fully publicly funded was legislated later. It can be legistlated out, funding can be cut to that specific board, etc. Any politician going to touch it with a 100ft pole? nope. That opens the can of worms and loses elections. The only reasons I hear people use to send their kid to Catholic School are myths. "More Structure", "Better Teachers", "Higher Success" The reality is that Catholic schools score higher on standardized tests (on average) because they expel the bad kids out to public school...

I was expecting the explanation to follow. I took the time to look myself and found that I was indeed out of date. Ontario Works Employment Insurance I was not up to date with Ontario Works program.

I'd like to add that the Catholic Education system is too restrictive on student learning because students are forced to take 4 religion credits instead of interest courses where they can find out what career they might be interested in. The also hire unqualified technological education teachers to teach tech classes. Yes, a history major can be teaching technological design or even construction in Catholic school. This is because they have a hard time recruiting tech people. Catholic schools only give students 8 elective credits over their entire high school career, public school students get 12. If you consider students who are aiming to take tech based degrees like computer engineering, engineering, science, etc. the real number of electives dwindles to 2 in Catholic school. They just don't have the enrolment to hire full time tech teachers because students have to take 4 religion credits. So they let unqualified people with no experience but, want a job to teach it. Another statistic I want. Type of degrees sought from Catholic vs Public. The system needs to go. That being said. I am not afraid of religion in school. I personally see no reason why public schools can't offer religious instruction based on community demand. As long as the courses are optional, why not?

1. I have. Rural setting as I emphasized. School buses leave sometimes with 10 kids on them. Across the street, same. Waste of money example . 2. You end up with more super intendants, counsellors, consultants and special prinicipals. Instead of having one Spec Ed principle for the board, you have two... one in each board. etc. 3. Infrastructure - declining enrolment means that you can have two schools sitting half full, catholic and public. Instead of needing one machine shop (although catholic schools FAIL HARD in technological education) you need two. Instead of needing one autoshop, you need two. Instead of one school being heated and maintained... you see where I am going.

Students aren't dumb... we don't give them enough credit. Less experienced, maybe. They know how to work the system and they do. They know their desires, and act on them. I had a friend in High School that really wanted to bang older women. He loved the thought of it. I always thought it was gross and preferred someone closer in age. All I'm saying is that my friend knew what he wanted. He would have taken the opportunity if it arose.
