  1. You should read the article; it talks about the way in which ignorance fuels the negative view (some) Canadians hold against Sikhs, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc. Perhaps you could help by disseminating accurate information and encouraging understanding of different faiths and different ethnicities, rather than your current course of encouraging exclusion and hatred. Whaddya think, could you do that?
  2. Horrific.  Stories like this make me think the death penalty could be justified.

It's nice that we can all agree on something.

It is very sad for that poor boy......

....some questions in my head as to the neighbors?  Did they suspect anything at all?

If a guardian is already in the hot seat for possible abuse, maybe it's for the child's interest to forbid the guardian to move with the child.  That's how they beat the system I think - they kept moving.

  3. Qur'an sets out principles of democracy, but current leaders do not follow those principles.
  4. You and extremists ignore those Quranic verses forbidding murder which includes terrorism. Most Muslims - 99% - condemn terrorism and murder. But people like you refuse to acknowledge that fact, preferring instead to pretend that the less than 1% who practice terrorism are the norm. The unsubstantiated hyperbole people like you engage in makes it impossible to discuss this topic reasonably.
  5. To be fair, he doesn't quite smear all Muslims. He just has decided to take at face value what the extremists themselves claim.
  6. Still the same argument. Governments in Islamic countries 'use' Islam to maintain an authoritarian regime. Most of the worst human rights practices found in Islamic countries are also found in non-Islamic countries so blaming "Islam" here and "totalitarianism" there makes no sense.
  7. If Islam were the "reason" for Islamic terrorism, we'd have a lot more Muslims blowing themselves up and running cars into crowds. Don't be fooled by an extremist element that calls itself "Muslim" into thinking that's their reason for what they do. They are fighting for territory and against the West, and any reason would do - they simply decided to claim Islam, and found a few random verses in the Quran to 'support' their agenda.
  8. It's always different when it happens to oneself, isn't it? Western powers have killed 100s of thousands or possibly millions of Middle Eastern people over the years, but they kill a few thousands of us and we lose our sh*t. We could all do so much better - us and them - but will we ever?
  9. Why bother with a hearing at all, if the outcome is just going to be deportation? Anyway I agree that the people who walk across the border should not be allowed. They can return to wherever and make proper application.
  10. 1. Not exactly. For me, it is when they drift into singling out a particular group, making sweeping and often false statements about why that group in particular should not be allowed in that they look 'far right' to me. 2. Trump does the above and while he is quick to enthusiastically condemn a lot of people, he is awfully slow to condemn Nazis and WS, and those same Nazis and WS have made it clear he's their man, so yes I would consider him far-right.
  11. I know this is directed to MH but I will answer too: nope. I am against illegal immigration as well and I suspect most people would be.
  12. I listened to a Global Politico podcast this morning that made the argument that the Middle East loves Trump because in him they see their own "strong" leaders. They are familiar with the over-the-top stuff Trump puts out and views it as honest and trustworthy. A University student from Iran explained it quite well.
  13. So someone bragging (and lying?) about grabbing pussy is preferable to someone who accidentally hits a woman's boob? Bizarre.
  14. Crickets.
  15. I don't recall hearing about the Sikh accused of sexual harassment? Do you have a link. Manipulative maybe, but definitely not a eunuch. Unless you are also claiming Sophie's been straying and those kids are fake Trudeaus.
  16. Don't watch CNN. It's just that smart people see the same things and ask similar questions.
  17. Well maybe he had to hide the gold and the virgins before letting people in.
  18. In that case, the pics they circulated showing the interior of the Church was flooded were faked. Now the gripe is ... Why didn't they open the church as soon as the waters receded? Personal experience from two minor floods tells me that things take a while to dry out - so waiting a bit isn't particularly suspicious, imo. To me, this really does look like an attempt to discredit this Church for some reason. Anyway, its open and accepting evacuees now.
  19. I agree, his links are generally good. Its the one-sidedness of his interpretations that I take issue with. But c'est la vie, and no doubt fingers will get slapped at this excursion so no more from me about this. Awesome. No doubt you know dozens of posters with LB avatars.
  20. That would have more credibility for me than some of the "experts" that get used here for backup! But good to know that @Rue and yourself think its acceptable to disregard completely what Argus posts due to his vested interest. As far as RW posters go, you two are among my top five. @Rue. Sure, go ahead and ask those questions. Are there Jewish MPs that you believe were overlooked in JT's rush to appoint women and minorities. Also an interesting point - why did JT post White people to Ministries dealing with First Nations. Surely he could have chosen someone from a First Nation? Although I really do not recall how mant First Nations people were elected. I shall have to turn to trusty google I guess, or wait for enlightenment here.
  21. Since CC isn't real, he isn't likely to consider it related to this event. I didn't see much of his tour, but what I saw suggested he saw it as a way to improve his brand: do a better job with rebuilding than has ever been done before. If he does do a good job, especially in the short term, his base will doubtless consider it vindication of his love for Americans and his willingness to take care of them. Although I am perhaps a bit cynical - I wonder if he'll try a little 'nudge nudge wink wink' to have White Americans prioritized over others. Sad thought, hope you are wrong.
  22. My heart is breaking for Houston.  Hope Trump delivers on his promise for extraordinary help.

He already is!  But more importantly for you people, what's with Melania's shoes?

  23. Then its a ok to observe that you are an old-stock, White Canadian male, a cohort that has seen your social status and power eroded by progressive policies? So when you post against immigrants and women in powerful posts, we should assume that your facts and figures aren't to be trusted because you have a vested interest in ensuring that White males remain at the top of the societal heap?
  24. 1. Perhaps true, and an explanation I hadn't thought of. I was here a couple months before the gov changed and it's tempting to claim it was just the same, but two years on I can't say for sure and anyway, two months is hardly time to make an accurate assessment. 2. Agree that he's not a lot different in actions than what came before. I sure do wish the Conservatives had picked Chong instead of Scheer.
