  1. Oh yeah, those standard two parent heterosexual households are the absolute last word on moral superiority. YES, THEY SURE AS HELL ARE!!! when compared to a one parent home or a homo home with 1 or more queers at the helm. Give your head a shake buddy. Be part of the solution, not the problem.
  2. After reading this whole thread, a couple things come to mind. This issue isn't a stand alone issue. Everyone is talking like there's a whole demographic of young teens all alone out there just waiting to be led to sex like lambs to the slaughter. Surely the problem can be lessened by standard two parent heterosexual households that will teach by example and remain in constant touch with their children and prevent undesirables from tainting their kids. If not, then the age of consent is irrelevent. Our society is on an unavoidable downward spiral into a murky slop where anything goes and no one cares.
  3. I took my wife out last night to see Borat expecting to laugh myself silly. I kept waiting and waiting for the pace to pick up and the funnies to start. I left the theatre with my side muscles intact. That movie sucked. Wasn't funny in any stretch of the imagination except a few little ditties. 1. Borats neighbor is an asshole. 2. New way to pronounce anus, sort of ahhhnoose. 3. The bear scaring the kids away from the ice cream truck. 4. The B&B scene when they thought the Jews were going to kill them. 5. Returning with a bag of shit to the dinner table Not worth debating though. Generally a waste of money.
  4. From everything I've heard first hand to what I've read, Russia is a cesspool of Mafia types and organised gangs of criminals. In order to do anything productive, one must bribe people. I have friends that work in the patch over there and for instance if you need a new power transformer, you just pay someone to steal one for you. And then if you don't watch your stuff, they'll steal it back. The local population drinks Vodka like it's going out of style. Alcoholism is rampant. I'm told they sell vodka in containers similar to pop cans with disposable pop tops. The average life span of men is something like 47 because of alcohol. I understand Putin is former KGB so it's understandable he may want the old ways given that his country seems to be in a downward spiral. He's got a long way to go yet before he's even 10% the bastard Stalin was.
  5. ...besides, anyone can quit smoking. It takes a real man to face lung cancer.
  6. Yep, and it continues. My own wife complains about this issue but has herself answered a call in our lawyers office even after I told her to shut it off while it was ringing. After the fact, she doesn't know why she had to answer it, but she did. Strange...
  7. ...ok. And? We're listening.
  8. So do online Political forums. Why don't you go outside and protest something? Way to stay on topic young fella...
  9. AC? You've been watching Star Trek haven't you?
  10. Really? It's already illegal for me to smoke in my own home, because all I smoke is pot. Bubber, I'm disappointed in you for saying that.
  11. Yeah, you could argue that. Also, there's the cholesteral buildup and muscle atrophy associated with inactivity. All I saw was that these video games were like drugs to my kids and they literally wouldn't move unless I made them, ever. That's all they wanted to do. But, to each their own as parents I guess. I don't think they do any good for anything myself. That's just the physical side. I also think they numb the childs mind to violence. Who knows what baggage tags along with that later on down the road?
  12. Ok, a social insurance card then. WHOOPS!
  13. No, no, no. Video games are to the detriment of society, rotting young (and old) minds. They promote inactivity. Here's a newsflash: Instead of playing NHL, why not go outside and play hockey? Duhhhh... Another form of electronic babysitter, that's all. Or a pied piper.... Of course, we all have bad habits. This isn't as bad as others.
  14. Yeah, and what about the Metis people, who don't get the treaty rights awarded the 'natives'? My opinion of this matter and always will be is that all Canadians should be treated equally. Give the indians a social security card, divy up the reserves between them and let them be Canadians. This First Nations stuff doesn't do it for me at all. There's no room for tribes in a modern society. Show them the same respect as everyone else. Enough free ride. We've said 'sorry' long enough...
  15. I think there's a whole load of personal responsibility needs to be administered here. Most people I know that smoke simply walk out to the garage or outside and don't even smoke inside their homes. Those people that do smoke in their houses would continue to do so regardless of laws. Argueing this point is moot because it's largely unenforceable anyway. I cannot see a government staying in power long when they start to legislate what people can and cannot do in their own homes. Hell, even I agree that queers can do whatever they want, in their own home. This is no different. People shouldn't smoke where their small children are affected. Agreed.
  16. I pay double minimum wage for an entry level job, low physical level, mainly indoors. I wish I could find people to work. That's reality nowadays.
  17. Nope. I mean the people were very nice, but the government couldn't be bothered to put some English signs on the highway for us tourists.
  18. Throw the crooks in jail until they learn English and can communicate. Quebec ticks me off. I travelled through there a couple of years ago on my bike. The people were very nice and switched to English immediately to help me. We ran into an elderly man in Quebec City who couldn't speak English at all, but with enough grunting and fingering the map, we got our directions ok. A motel owner struggled through enough English to take our money. Very nice people. However....through the rest of Canada on HWY 1, all signs were doubled in English and French, even marquis construction signs were duplicated all across the country, that is, until we hit Quebec. The self centered government has French only signs across the province, on the Transcanada highway, the one all the English speaking tourists use. Town names and kilometers are the same in any language of course, but instructions on detours and all construction signs sent me for several loops. What arrogance.
  19. Well, what are the choices for the Repubs next time around? Jeb Bush- not likely as he's a Bush and the public needs to settle a bit. I don't even know if he's got the Prez's job in mind. John McCain- ex POW. Lost to GWB in the last leadership race. He might be too close to the current admin to be really liked. Condi Rice- not. She's never ran a campaign. She'd be a good show down against the Clinton woman though. Who else?
  20. That "did not shit pants in crisis" is this guys' big selling point shows how low the leadership bar is set these days. Umm, maybe you could see it that way I suppose. However, that is a good quality in a leader. Also, I believe Rudy was a fairly unpopular guy in New York in the years leading to 911 because he made a hard choice to clean up that city. I remember instances of the cops being fairly tough on the citizens. My point is that he's a good administrator and not scared to make tough decisions. That's a great quality in a leader. He reminds me of Ralph in an abstract way. I do not think Rudy would be a strict 'party line' kind of guy.
  21. Yes to all that. But... everybody loves Rudy because of his excellent handling of the situation during 911 when the President was nowhere to be seen. That's got to count.
  22. No. The butt slapping would get out of hand and take presidence over the football. And the tear in the back of the centers pants? Enough said. It was funny the first time around, until you got ahold of it.
  23. Blah, blah blah. That's what you'd like to think. However, it has been voiced correctly that we are solid Conservative for the forseeable future. (Unless Don Getty was to run again) The only party that could gain credible ground doesn't exist yet, but would hold provincial values above federal and especially Quebec values. There is a portion of the public in Alberta who merely need a competent leader who isn't a Hitler type like some of the separatists that will vote in that direction.
  24. Ok, TF, that's just plain wrong.... I heard Rock Hudson is doing well. He'll be up on all fours soon....badum dum BTW (I fondle My Member) probably isn't going to cut it in this thread... hehe
  25. CNN -- Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has taken the first step in a 2008 presidential bid, filing papers to create an exploratory committee, Republican sources tell CNN.
