Ya from what I have read it actually sounds like he was framed and the charges will be dropped. The only evidence is possesion of tory signs in his open truck. It sounds like that there wasn't even enough evidence to really charge the guy. And the media was allerted by Seebacks campaign which says something too! WWWTT

Report: Ex-MPs blame parties for Hill dysfunction
WWWTT replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I do not believe you are even thouroughly thinking this through. If there are no partys in parliament then essentially all MPs are independant. If you can not recognize this then I sincerely believe you are not the person that can ever find a solution Our political landscape would be very different without partys. Our judicial system as is already reflects a non partisan landscape, however Canadian courts cannot create laws or create budgets and direct spending. But they do give a good insight into the direction our parliament may take if it was to adopt a non partisan face. Report: Ex-MPs blame parties for Hill dysfunction
WWWTT replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ok now,the way our parliamentary system works the lower house would have to pass legislation to ban political parties or to make any changes to how they can behave etc, etc. It would then have to pass in the appointed upper house(where every member has some kind of affiliation to some party or other). So knowing this do you believe that any attempt of changing the partys role has any chance? Don't get me wrong molly I agree with you that partys have become poisonous to both houses of parliament and has held back the politicall evolution of our country. But the only solution is to vote for members that are independant This subject should have its own thread and when time permits I'll start one WWWTT -
Is Stephen Harper for Private HealthCare or Not?
WWWTT replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And the conservatives and liberals are not thieves? WWWTT -
Wow a die hard conservative, host of CTV's powerplay has recognized Laytons growing momentum. Is this bigger than what we see on the surface? Will we be suprised when the seats are tallied May 3rd? Or his goal in making this comment to further divide Harpers opposition? WWWTT

Are you implying that as a Canadian citizen you cannot file a civil lawsuit against any party, person, company, organization or government if you feel that your civil liberties have bein infringed upon or that you have suffered personaly or financialy? Thats news to me. Is there a law saying that you can not take legal action against the government? Is it a constitutionaly sound law? I am trying to look at your arguments from the perspective of a judge preceding over such any case and the fact that no such law that says you have to vote exists speaks volumes, such a law would be unconstitutional. What if you are not in the country or near your riding on election day? What if you do not like any of the candidates? What if you feel that not voting in an election is a form of expressing your opinion? Theres a lot of what ifs and in my opinion if election Canada really wanted to increase the percentage per capita visiting their local booth on election day it could be easily done with a financial compensation. WWWTT
-
Two bad examples to draw a cross reference to here. First of all you are financialy compensated for jury duty. Everyone who lives in Canada in some way recieves the benefits of public spending from tax dollars. But keep trying, maybe you can find something I haven't. Telling someone to vote for a candidate on the ballot can be interpreted as a form of dictatorship aswell and this would be frowned upon. WWWTT

Its always "someone else is the problem" Maybe the problem is you not doing anything to find an effective soloution. WWWTT -
Report: Ex-MPs blame parties for Hill dysfunction
WWWTT replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
At every election there has always bein a solution to political parties but does anyone here try? Its called voting independant! Every ballot that I remember seeing provincialy or federaly has had at least one there. Have you ever thought of puting your mark beside that name? Ultimately it is up to the independant candidate to be very vocal in their riding to effectively communicate And it is also the responsibility of the voter to seek out and listen to all candidates and weigh wich would be best at serving them at parliament. Is Stephen Harper for Private HealthCare or Not?
WWWTT replied to William Ashley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well it seems to me the solution to the problem is very simple. Universal healthcare is a brainchild of the NDP. So therefore you vote for the NDP and let the professionals of public healthcare resolve any problems that have accumilated. A good example would be taking your car to be fixed to an electrician or a plumber as opposed to a certified mechanics shop. WWWTT -
What about bill boards and signs in window stores displaying products. There's only so much a sign can tell you when you read it as you quickly drive by. Nobody is going to stop using them because the first person that does will be giving their opponent a clear advantage. Signs have become a long running staple synomonous with elections. I doubt it they will go away. WWWTT
-
Paint a sign on your face then and don't wash it off until May 3rd. Or better don`t wash it off until a couple of weeks after the election! Probably be an improvement too. WWWTT
-
Ya theres a word for that. You might have heard of it. Its called "advertising" WWWTT
-
Wild Bill, are you saying that in order you to vote Conservative you have to like Harper? But if you vot NDP or Liberal you could be doing so for less desirable reasons. What a load of bunck that is. Conservative voters are one of the most blinded bunch ever. Helena Guergis is proof bonofica of the type of people the party attracts. Good luck attracting any creative cross linear thinking minds! WWWTT

What happened to that so desired reform?
WWWTT replied to Benz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Absolutely brilliant! This is the best idea I have ever come across on any forum! This would finally bring legitamecey to the government and finaly bury any critisism that the senate has bein a magnate for. After all if you then critisize the senate you would then be critisizing normal Canadian citizens! WWWTT -
Hold your breath and I'll start counting. There is a 5 point spread seperating them and the margin of error is like 2 or three points. So to make a statement like that is real risky man WWWTT
-
Its real cute to see all the conservatives here finally find a topic that can bring some sunshine into your day. Big group hug everybody WWWTT
-
Ok now, there's a lot of good comments on this thread but I need to stress something here. Ultimately Harper was the one that appointed Guergis to cabinet and therefore is responsible for her actions,I am not as forgiving as some here.Harper took a big chance increasing the size of cabinet and this partially led to the problem of allowing Guergis in the door. Guergis is a magnet for the media and she is using it to destroy Harper, and ultimately she is the type of people the conservative party attracts. One big freakin happy family at each others throat Enjoy! WWWTT
-
Now hold on a second here,I agree about the core portfolios but Harper increased the cabinet to a record level. And Guergis has got to be the biggest thorn ever, thats got to count for something. There will always be a difference of opinion between people in the same party and mistakes will happen. These things are not predictable, but Guergis?Man did this guy not have a good talk with her and see something in her?He picked her for all the wrong reasons and its come back to haunt him.He screwed up. By far the best comment I have ever seen on the CBC
WWWTT replied to Handsome Rob's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I read what you have written here Rob and if there was an award for the most biased,uncreative,boring,synical,let-down all round disappointing"oh no not this again moment",you would have a better than 50/50 chance of being nominated. WWWTT -
I do not believe you have read many of my quotes here. I never claimed that the opposition gave her a cabinet seat in the conservative flock.Harper did and this proves that Harper lacks good judgement. He is more concerned in being surrounded by "yes men" first, qualifications second. As far as Guergis slamming the media,oh my God that would be like biting the hand that feeds you.Fat freakin chance that will ever happen WWWTT

Man your aguments are weak. I grow tired of the lame thin ice you are treading on. Time for bed for me. I've got to earn money tomorrow and there's no money in debateing with dumb and dumber. When I have time I'll check out some of the stuff your writing and have fun with you ok buddy. Fell free to have the last word and say whatever you like,I've got fish to fry. WWWTT
