  1. The less people we let the less people their will be searching for jobs. Then instead of the employers having all the power in salary negotiation with many employers paying min wage to people. Less people mean that wages will grow and get higher. Look at Ft. McMurray Alberta. They have much less people to fill jobs and they pay $14/hr at least to work at Mcdonalds instead of min wage as in the rest of the country. This proves that less people will equal higher wages for everyone across the board. Letting people with no skills into Canada makes no sense at all. That practice should be stopped immediately. We don't need people coming to Canada to leech off of our health care and social services systems.
  2. Well they already can read our emails as it is now. If someone has nothing to hide then I don't understand what the fear is. Plus if someone is sending sensitive emails they should be using an email that uses an encrypted security key. Bottom line is that we need new anti terror legislation that will protect Canada. We cannot simply wait for them to attack Canada then try to arrest whoever isn't dead. We need to stop these actions before they happen. I don't understand what you mean by the pablum comment. Anyways have a good one.
  3. We have an unemployment rate that includes thousands of people so I think we have enough people in Canada to fill those jobs. We don't really need to let these people in. I don't see a lot of skilled people being let in but instead a lot of family type of people including many elderly people. Those types of people aren't paying taxes at all or aren't paying enough taxes to pay for the services they are using.
  4. Yeah, that's was my point to people who are against this bill. No need to be afraid of the government. You'll still be able to hold your protests instead of going to work. No problems. Everyone just needs to relax and trust the government when they tell us that we need some form of protection from the people who would like to do harm to Canada. It's a matter of national security. We need to be proactive in these trying times. Instead of reactionary. This new bill gives the government the powers to help keep us safe.
  5. The government is working hard to sexualize children that are 6 years of age. Young children don't need to thinking about sex, having sex, sex acts, homosexuality, gender identity?, being encouraged to have homosexual relationships, etc. Children that young need to be concerned with being children not about having sex etc. It's absurd and perverted. The guy who helped write this stuff is a convicted pedophile. Is that the type of person we want guiding our children? It seems more like grooming than education. Also, to socialist. Home schooled children needn't be socially awkward at all. We have a lot of home schooling groups that run classes together depending on a parents different university degree and skill set strengths. Also home schooling groups plan, in addition to classes together, field trips, physical education and some even have sports teams that compete with each other. So it's not quite the solitary child being taught alone which is often portrayed by people who are against home schooling.
  6. Jacee, the PM runs the country more or less. I don't see what the problem is with this. Harper won't be in charge forever but the way you carry on you act as if he's declared himself PM for life or something. Almost all of your posts on most subjects come across with some alarmist tone. Like we're in some kind of do or die scenario...that just isn't the case at all. Certainly no need for the hysterics.... Like it or not we have people in this country who would like to do hard to Canada. That cannot be allowed to continue. Those people must be brought to light and be made to explain themselves and their actions. If they don't do a good enough job explaining then I hope they get long prison sentences to think about their actions. No one will be saying you can't protest or have free association or anything like that. The sky isn't falling and the sun will rise tomorrow.
  7. I have both documents in front of me. When I get time, ill be providing page numbers and direct quotes. More and more people are choosing to leave the public system. Home schooling is quite easy to do I encourage more people to look into it. Private schools are also an option and are constantly highly ranked. It will be interesting to see what sort of backlash will occur. Wynne is doing this early in her reign because shes hoping public will forget by the next election.
  8. I dont disagree that an update is necessary. Its the age they want to start things that is a problem. Id like to know what 6 year olds are heing sexualized and who is doing the sexualizing. It's like this. My child that I brought into this world. My child that I'm rasing and paying for. So ill decide when it would be best to teach them life lessons. Not some overpaid constantly whining teacher or government agent or politician. Why is it crucial for a 6 or 9 year old to know about oral and anal sex? Or homosexuality? This new sex ed stinks of political correctness agenda. Parents have every right to pull thier children from class or even school entirely and home school them.
  9. Im not convinced that children need to be sexualized at age 6. We dont need 9 year olds being taught how to do anal and oral sex Or being taught about homosexuality. Its the job of the parents to decide when and to teach thier children about sex. it seems as though the Liberals dont think we're smart enough to raise our own children. To me it seems like the government wants to brainwash our children into normalizing homosexuality and deviant sexual behaviour. It was co writen by Levin a convicted pedophile, is this Wynnes legacy?
  10. This is already happening. Every email you write and receive using hotmail, yahoo, gmail plus many more are saved and stored in case they need them at a later date. So what you fear most is already occuring. the only people who have something to fear are those who have something to hide.
  11. It would seem to me that Jacee, your position is that with this new proposed legislation that Canada will be transformed into a kind of V for Vendetta country. To me that is quite an alarmist stance and quite impossible. I dont think we gave to worry about G men everywhere just yet. The Charter and Constitution are still entact, so we have little to fear. I would urge everyone to not be so afraid moving forward. No need to fear our government, not even one run by Stephen Harper.
  12. The Jews have Israel which is exactly where it needed it to be. The land of Israel was promised to the Jews by God. Israel is the end game for the Jews and no patch on Earth means as much to them. The Jews will die to protect her just as they died to found her. That soil has been drenched in blood for centuries and I suspect always will be unless more drastic measures are taken by Israel to end the conflict once and for all.
  13. Should be You're welcome. Not Your Welcome. Just annoying how people do this often.
  14. In looks to me that he government is doing a disservice to the people who live on reserves. The people on reserves are lacking the services needed no matter how much money the government gives them. Maybe it would be better if the government simply paid the bands and bought all the reserves back from them and forced the Natives to join the civilized society, pay taxes, get proper jobs and live as we do. I think the current concept has bred the Natives to come to depend on the government for the handouts and this has made them largely dependent, which is sad and a form of control or slavery if you will. As it is life on the reserve is largely pretty bleak. Limited employment and education options and monthly cheques which is why I believe that so many natives get involved with drugs and alcohol. The abuse of these substances is what leads natives to get arrested and end up jail or prison. It is certainly preventable but the natives must take the first step and agree that their lives in the reserve system just isn't working out very well.
  15. All I see is a government concerned with the safety of Canadians. I think the Liberals would put in place a very similar proposal. Even the NDP knows that we cannot simply afford to do nothing at all. That is merely wishful thinking but not really all that effective. Mulcair has also said he wouldn't scrap the bill but instead change it a bit. Jacee, are you arguing the need for the bill at its core or are you just wanting it to be amended to remove the offending portions?
  16. I have been lurking this forum for quite a number of years and have finally decided to get involved. The main problem I see with this forum is the number of posters who seemingly ignore the topic at hand and instead decide to attack the poster directly. This goes against all rules of conduct for having a meaningful discussion. It wouldn't surprise me to one day find that Greg has pulled the plug on this site entirely because of it. Many more people used to post here but have all left. I think they have left because of all the constant bickering and personal attacks. It's ok to disagree but it shouldn't be ok to bash someone personally. Remember, if you wouldn't say it to someones face you probably shouldn't say it on here either. I don't think we need more forum rules or stronger moderation but instead a mutual understanding and respect that I think has been lacking for a while. Let's not worry about who is saying something but instead look at the content of what is actually said. Good ideas can come from all political stripes so let's listen to everyone and respect different opinions.
  17. It would appear that a great many people are supporting this current initiative by the government to help keep us safe from terror. A new law is needed and most people, it would seem don't mind giving the police expanded powers to keep us safe. I have been reading this topic with great interest and it would seem that a large portion of posters here seem to be of the belief that once this is passed into law that we will somehow be transformed into a literal police state where any distention will be squashed almost immediately. I haven't seen any evidence for this at all. Some of the protests of late have been getting out of control and it wouldn't be hard for terrorists to blend in with the legitimate protestors to carry out a terrorist attack. As long as a protest is peaceful and doesn't interrupt the economy I don't see it being a real problem. I don't think we'd see any heavy handed stuff from the police after the backlash of the G20.
  18. Long time Lurker, First time poster... I think that Pm Harper does indeed have a chance to retain his seat in the Commons as well as his job as PM. It seems to me that the more that Justin Trudeau opens his mouth publicly the less like a PM he sounds. It seems like his poll numbers take a dip every time he flups up something. Also it seems like the NDP and Liberals are still trying to make it seem like PM Harper has some hidden agenda and the public just isn't listening to that message anymore because they haven't seen any evidence that Mr. Harper is trying to do anything sneaky at all. In fact the poll numbers would show that quite a lot of Canadians are in favor of his actions. So it would certainly appear that the PM is on the rise from earlier and is retaining most of the type of numbers that elected him to a majority a few years ago. It my opinion that if an election were held today that the PM would indeed hold onto his seat and job but his governing power would be reduced to a minority instead of the coveted majority. I think many people are forgetting that the Conservatives are very good at running a campaign during election time and that could really be the gamechanger. Have a great time in the forums as I know I've always had a great time ready your replies and arguments.
