  1. Good Morning Mr. Screwdriver, Mr. Hammer here... I see you're ready to do some fixin', repairin' and buildin' on this here board... Can't stay too long to help you... Got a busy day ahead elsewhere...
  2. Round of applause please Mr. Canada and I agree on something... btw - It's them, not we, actually, our banking system was fine, as for the the Auto Industry Bailout, well, kinda more of a stock purchase than bailout, we may even get that money back, plus they're still in Canada and not in Mexico, I can overlook that kind of bailout... Kinda makes one wonder where that record deficit was actually spent, doesn't it?
  3. I agree... It exists and it is taking over... If you are Conservative, Vote Liberal... It's this country's only hope of not becoming the 51st State (in practice if not in name)...
  4. No worries, Dryden isn't interested in becoming leader of the Liberals anymore for very simular reason to what you say... Bob Ray will never be the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada...
  5. Talk to him... http://www.justin.ca/
  6. I already told you... To get the real WHY you'd have to understand the reasoning of the Oil Producing Companies... Those mostly US parented companies saw the writing on the wall of what it would do to there profit margins and acted accordingly, short term pain (pulling out or slowing down production) vs long term sustained, and unquestioned, MEGA profitability... Do you actually think that US's (and other foreign oil interests) were interested in a National Energy Policy for the benefit of Canada? That's the antisesis of what Oil Companies wanted and they fought it tooth and nail... What's sad about is that Albertan's bought in on the side of the oil companies instead of the side of what's best for their Country... But hardly surprising... Trudeau was prepared to help Alberta (as well as other provinces affect by the NEP) weather the change over, but the PCs with the help of the NDP stopped Trudeau from taking the steps needed to fully implement the NEP... Then along came Moroney and his sell out of Canada to those same foreign intrests culminating in Free Trade and NAFTA which permanently killed any hope of an independant DOMESTIC Oil and Gas market which Mexico still has and gains the benefits from... It's basically as simple as that... Corporations winning against Countries is nothing new... They rely on turning the people against the interests of the country all over the world, it's VERY profitable you know... Gas prices in Mexico - Last Update (prices change 1x month) Feb_12_11 Magna per liter - MXN $8.92 Premium per liter - MXN $10.18 Diesel per liter - MXN $9.28 Magna - Gal. in USD / CDN USD - $2.81 CDN - $2.77 Premium - Gal. in USD / CDN USD - $3.20 CDN - $3.16 Diesel - Gal. in USD / CDN USD - $2.92 CDN - $2.88 Exchange Rate - USD 12.03 Exchange Rate - CDN 12.18 Liters per gallon 3.79
  7. I have to agree... I too would like to see a little, make that a lot, more fire coming from the Liberal side of the isle... I'm also equally card-less and it's because I'm waiting for the behind the scene "brainthrust" of the Liberal party to depart and be replaced with people that understand that things have changed since the '80s when these people came in with the Chretien-Martin era... They suck quite frankly and are a big part of the reason the "Leadership conventions" (Dion and Ignatieff) became such a farce... As well as HORRIBLE campaign strategies that left Canadians cold... Ignatieff is way too Obama like and pragmatic to be a successful politician... Politics is a blood sport and the current crop of Liberals including their Leader haven't yet learned how to fight in that kind of arena...
  8. And if it wasn't for "Canada" you'd have a much smaller and divided country - Louisiana Purchase - so what's your point?
  9. And this matters to you why? I should care what you think about a Canadian identity issue why? BTW I don't give a damn what you think about anything... I've seen your Facebook page and you and I have NOTHING in common, just be glad you're not in Canada, or are you, since you'd be breaking some laws up here with that Facebook page... You are nothing like what you say you are...
  10. That's 2 Obama makes 3... No wait, then there's the matter of SUBSIDIDIES to Corporations that ALL your Presidents since WWII supported... Hmmm, and to think that the United States thinks of itself as a "Free Enterprise" based nation... A FREE Marketplace if you will... It is to LAUGH... Just sayin'
  11. 1. (that wasn't even me saying that, please attribute)
  12. There wasn't enough left of ENRON to bail out... After all Bush was "the Bailout President"... Just sayin' ...
  13. Glad you're still sharp at this hour, I'm not, so I'll say good nite and waft off into the dark night... And remember, be nice, it's the Canadian way...
  14. Yup... 0 Ummm, Ignatieff said NO to the NDP idea of a coalition? The Canadian public? Wasting millions on an unwanted election that would change nothing? Need I go on?
  15. Yup, and then there's that... PLUS Enron, PLUS Savings and Loans, Plus - awww what the hell, I agree, BUSINESS can do no wrong and GREED shall always rule the day... It's ONLY the poor worker who's behind any economic woes befalling any country...
  16. Ummm, because it didn't and because I have a somewhat different viewpoint about Trudeau and pretty much everything he did and can understand the reasoning for WHY he did the things he did including the National Energy Policy... IMO, which is thankfully shared by a great number of Canadians, Pierre Elliot Trudeau was the LAST Canadian Prime Minister that CARED more about Canada and Canadians than he did about seats and POWER in Parliament... Just MAYBE his son Justin can bring THAT concept back, even a little, someday... Regarding NEP, it was never about Alberta, or ANY province, it was about a NATIONAL identity and how that NATION, Canada, could BEST attain it's unbelievable potential.... To be all that Canada could be... Not being able to achieve that because of the narrow mindedness and GREED by some people is something that ALL Canadians have paid quite dearly for to this very day...
  17. Carruba or Lemon Heart 160 proof - more bang for the buck at the border... NO hangover ever cause I NEVER drink that much to get the pre-hangover... Not since the FIRST and LAST time almost 1/2 a century ago aboard the MS Alexander Pushkin on my way back to Germany... Rum & coke all afternoon, followed by a 3/4 bottle of champaign shared with newly found female friend at dinner, followed by approx. 16 oz (10 oz in 1 swallow through the teeth without hands doing a Russian Dance that night) of Real Russian Vodka (unknownst proof) straight, the results of which can be a powerful deterrent for ever getting drunk again, believe me... Wanting to flush myself down a toilet for 3 hrs is NOT something one forgets... No hangover though... Ooops, too much information... On with the show... Economics, yes, but what I'd describe such "economics" as would get me banned...
  18. So true, BUT (even though he's married with 2 kids) think of the LADIES that "baby face" can bring into the BIG RED TENT...
  19. You wouldn't by any chance happen to know the COST of raising a child from birth to age 23 (U Grad), including lost productivity from the parents during that time, would you? It's the only viable and AFFORDABLE (since virtually all COSTS are covered by the sponsor) way an underpopulated country like Canada can survive... True... See above... Instant productivity from the immigrant and future sustainability via their children are the BONUS Canada receives from immigrants... See all of the above...
  20. Ahhh yes, the freedom of the slave entering serfdom, such amazing advancements in culture are to be CLASSIFIED as the ultimate freedom a slave to the workplace can aspire to in American culture... (knew it would come to me) RUM man myself...
  21. No problem, that's called DEMOCRACY... To each their own... I can think of many reasons why I won't consider voting for a Government that calls itself "conservative" and then spends our tax dollars like a drunken sailor with borrowed money from abroad and giving us the highest deficit in Canadian history doing it... But as I said, to each their own...
  22. Close, but more defining of the slave to serfdom "freedom", it'll come to me, darn this headache, it'll come, it always does, eventually...
  23. We are? Really? This is the BEST Canada can do - plod along quite nicely? This is what a Harper Government has to offer? No thanks, I for one think Canada can do a whole lot better than that, even with Ignatieff at the helm, AND he might become a "politician" which seems for some people a prefered choice over someone who wants what's best for Canada and has the smarts to get it done... As I said, we'll see in the next election, whenever it comes about...
  24. Ahhh yes, the freedom of the slave entering serfdom, such amazing advancements in culture are to be um, ahhh, err, what's the word I'm looking for, can you help me out here Jack, I've got a bad headache...
  25. Ummm, you may want to look at the racial demographics of Wisconsin as compared to, oh lets say Alabama (or pretty much any Southern or Eastern State), before coming to such a conclusion...
