  1. Iraq's failures ? Yes let's recount them: -Ending of a fascist regime that murdered 250.000 people -Rebuilding of a mangled oil infrastructure which the Iraqi's will own and help them prosper -Creation of the first representative system in the country's history -Pluralistic schools opened -Markets starting to slowly function -Iraqi's getting involved at all levels to rebuild a butchered nation -Neighbouring countries safe -Never again able to construct an arms program to threaten Western interests -Ending of funding to terrorist groups Yep huge failure that one. Life was better under Hussein. I have to point out, that you are truly an incomprehensible clown.
  2. Left Libs and their tree hugging addicts that permeate the media believe that history holds no lessons. They believe that nothing matters, except that all things are relative and nihilism in any form is to be extolled. In short the Liberal wags teach you that: -Success is due to luck, exploitation, or thievery -Cultural differences do not impact a societies success -Multi-culturalism is necessary to relativise society -History is unimportant -- a new Post modern world has emerged -Capitalism and helping the poor succeed through the accumulation of surplus value [a concept Marx understood but did not fully grasp], is a negative. -War is obsolete, all people are good, conflict is to be avoided only thru discussion In summary it is a bunch of mindless twaddle.
  3. Well you are an idiot so of course you deal with the superfluous and not the concrete. America gave the world: -Extra Legal property rights which were incorporated into national law and which paved the way for capital accumulation -The use and repackaging of capital assets to generate investments and wealth -Technological progress and increasing standards of living -Checks and Balances to guard against excessive Parliamentary domination by one party [ie. like in Canada] -A regard for freedom and security that post modern jerks like yourself don't understand Sure I hate McDonald's, sluts like Britney and Madonna, and TV [most of it]. These are the glittering scum on a vast pool of profounder gifts.
  4. All Republicans are morons all Democrats geniuses. Al Gore is a genius who: -Failed out of Bible College -Failed out of Law School -Acquired Cs at Harvard [i studied there, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get Cs at Harvard] -Lied about inventing the internet Bill Clinton is a genius who: -Perjured himself -Allowed 9-11 to happen -Was Impeached -Draft Dodged, visited Russia and covered up his sympathies for Communism after he was into politics Obviously these 2 men are glowing lights of intelligence. Eisenhower, Reagan and Bush all of whom won wars and defended national interests are derided as dumb and mononic. In that case give me the Morons any day over the gliberal glow boys.
  5. It is time the rest of the world, hiding behind Post Modern liberal nonsense took off their skirts and high heels and joined in to help the US. The war on terror will be long, expensive, difficult and necessary. Time to stop free riding and moaning get engaged. Time to stop with the fatuous nonsense of Cdn superiority - a country with no military, lower standards of living, less income, free riding drug policies, and socialised rationed health care has little to chirp about.
  6. Yeah America is to blame chant the monkey Liberals. This is why 55 % of Muslims want to leave their country and most would love to get to the USA. This is why 40.000 Cdns each year flee to the US and less than 3.000 come the other way - most to get socialised ie. 'let others pay for it' rationed health care. Yeah America is to blame with the world's 2nd highest standard of living, its $34 K per capita GDP and its increasing personal disposable income. Yeah America is to blame for its deep capital markets, respect of private property and open public debate on any and all issues. Yeah America is to blame for the complete collapse of marxian and Islamic dictatorships and their inability to provide a meaningful quality of life for their people. Yeah America is to blame for the fact that the Saudi's and Iraqi's are incapable of even developing, refining and distributing their own oil resources. And of course America is to blame for the fact that 50 % of Islamic women are illiterate. Yeah i agree, America is to blame.
  7. RB, you are another Orwellian joker. If you want to solve poverty in the 3rd world do the following: 1. 3rd world countries unilaterally if needed, start to bring down their tariffs. 2. 3rd world nations which account for 11 % of their trading volume can institute freer trade amongst themselves. 3. Developed nations must reduce tariffs on key 3rd world exports - the EU is the champion 3rd world killer. 4. Read De Soto's 'The Mystery of Capital' - it is the greatest work yet on why the 3rd world remains miserable. His ideas include; -More capital is sitting in illegal assets such as property and sqauting rights than exists in developed countries stock exchanges - about $9.2 Trillion -If gov'ts in the 3rd world did what the now developed countries did 100 years namely recognise property rights for the poor, it would immediately create capital, mortagage and saleable securities for their countries -Poor people in the 3rd world are not lazy or stupid, in fact they have invented their own forms of regulations, markets and social responsibilities that must be legally recognised by the State De Soto and his team spent 12 years and investigated povery everywhere. He wants property to be legalised and capital will form on top of that. This is worth more than foreign aid [in fact 150 yrs worth].
  8. I doubt that the US is using his video's as a rationale for war. That is rather extreme. War is necessary for a whole of reasons, and getting Tiny Bin Laiden is not the thrust of the war. The goal is the elimination of terror. Tiny is the funder of this movement, but as recent attacks attest to, he is not the only funder of the movement. Tiny is dead, but the Saudi's and others are still sending $ to the movement and the cells. I just get tired of the Clinton News Network telling us how bad everything is. Things are going about as well as could be expected.
  9. Right on Man. It mirrors the Left Lib media in the States with the Clinton News Network aka CNN, NY Times aka Pravda Plus, and the Washington Post aka the Menshevik Newsletter, all pulling for the Dumbocruds. CNN even went so far as to try to hand Gore the election in 2000 by breaking Federal laws and announcing a Gore Bore victory in Fla 90 minutes before the Polls closed. Canada is no different. All the media is swiftly behind the Liberal view of life and the world. The CBC is of course the head cheerleader in this movement of the mediocre. The media would love Howdy Doody to win and increase taxes, public spend and shed more tears about the poor and old. Even though the old own 65 % of Canada's assets and only 8 % of people are poor. What the hell, they are easy emotive issues and make good copy to sell.
  10. I agree that the memories of the fallen are sacred. I would rather die in a fight than watch myself be erased flying into a skyscraper. Better to die fighting and take as many bastards with me as possible. But the logic behind allowing the acronyms to get off scot free while the airlines are forced to pay is rancid. No one at the FAA was fired. The Secretary - Democrat Mineta is a joker. He rapes old ladies and searches cheerleaders as part of the security procedures but denies there is racial profiling and ethnic monitoring. Why the hell shouldn't there be ? Last time i checked Grandma from Winnipeg is not a threat. Mahmoud from Egypt could be. The CIA and FBI and now Homeland Security are massive org's in need of some serious reform. No one in the CIA or FBI at a high level lost their heads for 9-11. Reminds me of going after Martha Stewart while they doddle in arraigning the boys and girls of EnCon and World Scam. Bloody acronyms.
  11. The Clinton News Network ie. CNN - the Democrat's own private news channel is at it again waving a video around from Al Jazeera purportedly of his royal small penisness, Tiny Bin Laden who launched his Jihad after a Jewish babe laughed at his size in a Tel Aviv disco. Result - stock markets plunge, NY times writes gloomy stories about the failure against the war on Terror and so on. Evidence - no evidence on when the tape was made, no confirming dates, no messages about current events, nothing ! If Tiny penis Bin Laiden was alive he could one supposes, hold up a current newspaper to the camera while trying to smile showing his black teeth and cancerous tongue. But no nothing except the Clinton Networks trumpeting of doom. CNN - get a life !! Stop bowing to the Left Liberal weenies who want to surrender and give up at every obstacle. Support what needs to be done for God Sake. Let me say it clearly - TINY BIN LADEN IS DEAD.
  12. I love Ivy League snots. They are wrong on every major issue. Too busy rewording their words to Orwellian levels to actually see reality. These are the geniuses who love the UN, bow before Kyoto, thought that Russian Communism was a better society, informed us that Mao who murdered 40 million people was a great agrarian reformer, and apologise for socialism in Africa and Latin America and now assure us that Islam is a great and peacerful religion and that 9-11 is our fault. I am sitting 10 blocks from Ground Zero. It is 9-11-03. There is not a hope in hell that the West is culpable for the failure of other societies. The fact that the ninnies in other countries can't defend themselves does not indict the proper strategy of taking the offensive. The terrorists will be dismantled and beaten - slowly but it will happen. The question for Chevy Nova and like little minds, is --- what are you doing to secure freedom ? Nothing that is the answer, and for that you are a revisionist, snivelling coward. You don't even have the decency man to support countries that are defending freedom. Disgusting.
  13. Islam is a failure. Islam was once rich because it appropriated trade routes. It set up a bureaucratic empire that eventually destroyed the system and itself and culminated in the Ottoman empire - the sick man of Europe - that was kept tottering because the British needed a buffer against the Russian empire. Christianity is more open to debate, interpretations and 'story telling' than monolithic Islam. Christian societies have 2 useful buffers against the State - the middle class and the church. Islam has none. 55 % of young Arabs want to leave their country. 60 % of women are illiterate. The GDP of the entire Arab world is less than Spain. It is a failure. In order to restore human dignity it is necessary to rebuild over the next 2 generations these broken societies. And take away the veil of ignorance.
  14. KK, great answer. Security and the changing landscape indeed make Iraq and Afgh. #1 on the terror front. Others will follow - but a smart dictum in life is FOCUS. Focus on winning and converting these 2 countries first, then when that is stabilised take the next steps. The US economy is now currently booming - 5 % growth for the rest of the year and surging business and capital investment. This means jobs jobs jobs starting in 04 and 05. I think the US is on the cusp of an economic boom that will mirror the mid 80s and late 90s. They are back. 3.5 % GDP growth always means jobs. I bet that next year the US grows at 4 %. Canada - about half that level.
  15. Yes true and Bob Rae is still feted by the media as a genius and visionary statesman - all because he looks like a dork, wears glasses, acts like a pompous ass, almost bankrupted the province and went to Upper Canada College where he learnt to knot ties. Great leader - in the same ilk as Kim Jong Il - can't wait for the Lefty Libs to start aping the digs that Kim-bo wears -- replete with Mao jacket and boffo hair. Uncle Ernie is a messy guy. No vision, hard policies or ideas. Too many house wives crying around him. Anyone who is a compassionate Conservate is just a Liberal trying to swing on both sides - a sort of half transgendered politician i suppose. Ernie is Mr. Flip Flop - what the hell, let's give Howard a shot -- and watch the exodus of tax payers to the States
  16. Amen brother to that. I smell Tort Lawyers and opportunists behind suing the airlines for 9-11. After all national security is a national government concern. It would be as if I could sue a gun manufacturer for the murder of someone in my family while in a public place. The Acronyms are deflecting blame from where it belongs - the breakdown in information coordination, and the inability to take proper steps to mitigate threats to national assets. Just imagine if Flight 93 had been allowed to crash into the White House. What a monumental disaster that would be. Todd Beamer and the 'Let's Roll' boys did the right thing. I don't understand the passengers on the other 3 flights - doing diddly squat while they watch themselves die. In any event suing struggling firms to gain compensation from a national security breakdown is odious. The gov't should stop this process.
  17. Ned, I agree RB has no idea what he/she is talking about, and lives in her own little fantasy world. As I said in my post - the EU's agricultural policy kills people, raises taxes on EU citizens and retards economic development of countries that desperately need trade to increase their GDP and create sustainable economic and political reforms. The EU is a hypocrite. Crass politics especially in France and Germany dictate their protectionist policies. Kyoto and other no-brain schemes are designed as economic protectionism. Only the Left Libs and Greens are dumb enough to believe that the EU's economic and environmental concerns are anything more than blatant attempts to manage trade to their benefit. It takes a particularly naive and dumb person to buy into EU rhetoric about saving the world. Most Canadians have bought in - since Canada is part of the EU's selfish, kill the poor, discriminate against the weak, and bash the American's, group.
  18. France and the EU discriminate against the poor. It is laughable when the Frogs moan and whine about 'peace', 'love' and international harmony, while their CAP and agricultural policies kill thousands each year in the developing world letting them starve to death, so EU taxpayers can pay 200 % more for their sugar beets. In fact the average EU nuch pays about $3000 more each year for food, and this includes the paying poor of Europe - so not only are the Frogs and Nazi's killing 3rd world citizens they are also ensuring that their own are poorer. Oh wait, hold on - isn't this something the UN should decide on ?? Er can't we hide behind King Kofi's skirt, to skirt the issue? A decade ago, we were told open borders and competition from poor countries would ruin industrialized economies. The Cassandras of protectionism were quickly proven wrong. Today, they're back, saying exactly the opposite: free trade and competition from rich countries will ruin the poor. What piffle. Such trade has decreased the world's # of poor by half in the past 50 years. The second argument put forth concerns agriculture. The pro-subsidies crowd claim farming isn't a business activity and needs protection. Two EU commissioners, Pascal Lamy and Franz Fischler, recently argued that farming can't be judged by the economic principle of comparative advantage, which would suggest rich, industrialized European states don't need to protect to keep so many farmers in business when food can be imported from elsewhere at far lesser cost to the consumer. But, true to the line put forth by Messrs. Lamy and Fischler, the EU's proposed reform of its Common Agricultural Policy keeps subsidies as high as ever, while tinkering with the way they're disbursed. The EU's agreement with the United States shows, on each side of the Atlantic, a creative accounting that keeps subsidies and falls far short of freeing up trade in agriculture. By contrast, a good agreement between the EU and the U.S. would have removed the subsidies and trade barriers that directly hurt poor countries. While trade makes people richer, everywhere not just in the rich world, it often promotes political liberalization in developing countries. In dictatorships, the pro-democracy fighters lead the fight to free trade, knowing open borders can liberate their countries from poverty and oppression. The benefits of free trade shouldn't be limited to a small club of rich democracies. The EU and France are opposed not just to Trade I would say, but political liberalisation. All so the fat cat politicians which get their $ from large industrial farms can stay in power. And kill the 3rd world's poor. Hurray for France !! That noble nation of democrats and courageous liberals !!!
  19. I can't stand Eves and his knitting crew of crying women. Eves will spend more than $1 billion to buy this election. He will then go to business with hat in hand, moaning that we are the greatest and it is our duty to spend this money. Sickening. When does the vote buying ever stop ? I will never vote for Eves or Howdy Doody. Either Mickey Mouse or Howard Hampton will get my vote - both are in the same category as policy thinkers.
  20. Now the geniuses in the US judiciary have inexplicably decided that because the CIA, FBI, FAA and INS all screwed up costing 3.000 lives, that citizens can now sue the airlines. Good job boys. Let's understand this - 250.000 gov't workers, with billions in budgets fail in their job and the reaction of the US gov't? Sue the airlines and Boeing for not knowing that 19 deranged Islamofascists would break through the various acronyms protecting America and slaughter people on a September Tuesday morning as they worked. This is insane. Yesterday it was announced: A federal judge ruled that Sept. 11 victims can sue for negligence. Here are some of the many claims: American Airlines, United Airlines: Should have screened passengers to keep terrorists from boarding. Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J., Larry Silverstein's WTC Properties: Didn't design building safely or provide adequate evacuation plans. Boeing: Should have built cockpit doors that could prevent terrorists from breaking in. ===== How about suing the acronyms for negligence and stupidity ?
  21. Well you don't know much either about religion or geo-political affairs. Hussein made weekly speeches calling on the Arab brotherhood to unite and drive the Jew into the sea and demolish Israel. He was secular until he needed religion to help his means. The Baathists are Fascists, religion is embedded in the state and the leader, and if the leader can use a religion or philosophy to further his means he will. Hussein used the concept of Pan Arabism and pan Islamism to justify terror against the West and Israel. So much for your understanding of Iraq. It might come as a surprise to find out that the Islamic world is poor partly due to a lack of Constitutional freedoms and rights and separation of powers. As well not having a strong church and middle class will doom a country to exploitation by demagogues. Canada should keep this in mind as unelected judges tell us that sodomising psychological disturbed men wearing nail polish can start a family. Can't wait to see how the kids grow up.
  22. I would agree, you can object to US policy or maybe state that in Iraq we need more civilian police, militia, better trained Iraqi's and so on. But to state that the US has no friends when it has guaranteed or sponsored the freeing of 35 or so nations in the past 50 years is a remarkable testimony to ignorance and stupidity. It is not only a racist statement but one devoid of any truth. Yes the US makes mistakes, but so does every country. The fact that Canada cannot defend itself, has porous borders and still allows 50 % of its immigrant quota to be sourced from Muslim nations is a shame and a security risk of the first order. Not to mention all the other reforms that should be tackled here on other important issues. I like the Americans, even though i hate Hollywood activists, loathe rednecks, don't follow their sports much and could care less about country music, J-Lo and Jerry Springer. However, these are superfluous and tendential to the key American ideal which is the defense of liberty and freedom. This is the key message, and one that Canadians or EU-nuchs ignore to their own peril. To turn one's back on that ideal and support socialism, apologise for Fascism and fund Terrorism indirectly and directly is the nadir of morality and historical understanding.
  23. EU protects agriculture, textiles and assorted other industry with a common external tariff or customs union. The poor need access to rich country markets - in particular for agro and textile exports. The EU has shut down its market to many of these countries. First, there are the trade restrictions. Though the EU has a low industrial tariff of 5%, its agricultural tariffs average 20%, rising to a peak of 250% on certain products. On textiles, there are strict quotas on most important lines. These have been reduced or removed in the case of unimportant products such as parachutes and umbrellas. But the European market remains barely open to the majority of low cost textiles from the developing world. Added to explicit trade barriers are the complex rules of origin applied to imports from the developing world. These stipulate how much of a product must be made from local inputs to qualify for the preferential tariffs. The second great barrier is the agricultural subsidy handed out by the EU under the rules of the infamous Common Agricultural Policy. First, it completes the effect of tariffs and other barriers in shutting them out of a market in which they would otherwise have a comparative advantage. The EU, for example, spends €2.7 billion each year on subsidizing European farmers to grow sugar beet, while it maintains high tariff barriers against sugar imports from the developing world. Second, it generates immense surpluses of foodstuffs that cannot be sold within the EU at the prevailing intervention prices. Result of this ? Poverty and Death in the 3rd world. It is estimated that 6,600 people can thus be said to die every day in the developing world because of the trading rules of the EU. That is 275 people every hour of the day. In other words, one person dies every 13 seconds somewhere in the world -- mainly in Africa -- because the EU does not act on trade as it talks. EU Hypocrites - against the war in Iraq because the Frogs and Nazi's would lose money. Now against trade liberalisation because large industrial farms in France might have to [gasp] actually compete. And people want a UN world government ................
  24. No the ruling - there have been 4 have stated the following: 1. Canada does subsidise unfairly its lumber industry 2. The US methodology to calculate the tariffs needs to be revised. 3. US industry has not been hurt by Cdn subsidies [this was the last decision]. Canada IS in violation of WTO rules. The debate is now what level of punitive action can the US take - right now the tariffs are at 29 % - Canada wants them reduced. The US says no, the level and methodology are sound. So my post said the obvious - why are Cdn taxpayers subsidising lumber ? We would be better off without this - on both sides of the border. And you Flea have nothing to add on this - except of course Cdn moronic posturing - ie. 'We are the best !! hooray!!'
  25. I agree, Buffett is a very smart guy at picking stocks and understanding the value of firms and what to buy. His strategy is pretty simple - buy and hold long term, high growth, or high dividend paying, or well capitalised market leading stocks. Buffett famously rejects technology stocks btw, which is hard to believe in today's age. He is smart in many ways, but he is not an economist, not a person who understands free market concepts and not someone who can reduce budget size. Arnie is using him one hopes as a sop to the left liberal media circus. He has Laffer and Schultz - both of whom are true Conservatives and Laffer in particular is a prominent supply side economist who in 1976 when Proposition 13 limited taxation levels was the only person who predicted rising revenues. The Left liberals cried that the state would go bankrupt. Prop 13 increased investment, revenues and helped paved the way for 20 years of solid economic growth. Tax, Spend, regulate and of course Slander - the Liberal program in summary.
