News Canada - Harper Propaganda Machine
Ash74 replied to Mighty AC's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It does not matter which party is in power they all play the same game. The problem is that they hate people like us. Those filler news stories are great for the masses because unfortunately the masses are not very well informed. They just don't care. We all have our different opinions and try to explain them to each other . I do not understand why a person would call themselves a Liberal but at least here the Liberals express a point of view. Most people I find are just going by the filler and not making up their own minds or are voting because that is what their family voted, wife, husband, etc, etc or the ultimate sin. They do not vote at all. -
Neoliberalism in a nutshell: Target CEO's package matches package
Ash74 replied to WIP's topic in Business and Economy
k.....uhm Can I have a unicorn in this world? The human greed factor is an absolute. Give the power to the people and the select people will abuse that power. It is the world we live in. Not defending the 60 million. No rational person could. My argument is I have no right to tell a company what to do with their money. Neither do you but you want to confiscate it. So we start taking money from CEO's Than who is deemed rich Than the middle class Than because he has a nicer vegetable garden in his back yard. Who draws the line?- 137 replies

Neoliberalism in a nutshell: Target CEO's package matches package
Ash74 replied to WIP's topic in Business and Economy
Riiiiiiiiight, cause governments have a long history of being fair to everybody. Governments never end up being the only ones with the money. How are you going to make people think? How are you going to force people to invent and create? If a person can get away with the bare minimum they very much will if there is no reward for producing.- 137 replies

Neoliberalism in a nutshell: Target CEO's package matches package

Yes but than you run the risk of a talent drain like that in France. A 75% tax bracket chased many professionals out of the country.- 137 replies

Yeah. From a emotional perspective I do not understand how a person can fail and still receive this kind of payment.- 137 replies

Neoliberalism in a nutshell: Target CEO's package matches package
Ash74 replied to WIP's topic in Business and Economy
Fair enough but that is for the bare minimum of what a employer must pay. My bonus structure is not discussed with the unionized employee's and is really none of their business. What a CEO gets for a severance is of no concern to me but the catch is a good chunk (not enough some would say) will be taxed- 137 replies

Teach Handwriting in School? Seriously?
Ash74 replied to socialist's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
I will give you credit for starting conversations. I do not believe you are a teacher, cannot prove it of course and you have very little knowledge on how to argue a point and for that the proof is in your past postings. I do agree there are much more important skills that can be taught than handwriting. It is a huge waste of time and effort. -
Neoliberalism in a nutshell: Target CEO's package matches package
Ash74 replied to WIP's topic in Business and Economy
It is really none of the public's business how much a private citizen receives from a private company. The share holders have a right to know but it really does not concern me. i have opinions about it but at the end of the day what right do I have to tell Target what to do with their money?- 137 replies

I am a hard core conservative but you cant use a business model health care like they did at target. With health care you want less customers needing less product. That is why all the commercials about healthy living. The States have a much better health care available if you can pay. The last thing as Canadians we want is the U.S. to have a health care like ours because they are at the very front of research that our health care uses but could never afford to pay to research.

Protest against the LCBO -- Liquor Control Board of Ontario
Ash74 replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The prices are never going to come down. Every time it is mentioned the government talks about "social responsibility" that means that we are all too stupid to drink cheaply because they get less taxes. The Beer Store is getting ready to get hit with a franchise fee. Prices will go up and the tax revenue will go up and We will be the only ones paying the price. The whole beer and booze system in Ontario is a joke. If you drink you are gonna pay for it. Unless you live close to a reserve that is -
Should Mulcair be allowed to run for Prime Minister?
Ash74 replied to drummindiver's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
lol . Good point but the other leanings would disagree. Harper has been too busy killing puppies and setting fires to homeless shelters to grow the economy. -

Prices will never get cheaper. 'Social responsibility" We are too stupid not to pay Al Capone prices. (Actually with inflation it was still cheaper to drink during prohibition) -

IT is election shots like this that embarrass us conservatives. That being said I am not a conservative because of my love of the party mantra. I am a conservative because I believe in less government. Choosing a government is like walking into a sex shop. You gotta figure out which dildo will hurt the least. -

So you want to make a bigger government bureaucracy? So they should buy it back? Or just take it? We need less government interference not more in this nanny state. -

We have cigarettes for sale in corner stores, why not beer? Corner stores have been getting killed lately so why not level the playing field some. Could help many small businesses and these same small businesses are tested regularly with smoke and lottery sales by secret shoppers. It is The Beer Store holding it back and it is not for " social responsibility" it is so they can keep their cash cow humming along. -

I jut get tired of being treated like a unruly child. Why are the people in other provinces more mature and responsible that their elected government can trust them to actually buy beer at a store? Why are we the people in Ontario so childish and uncontrollable that we can only buy beer and alcohol from the LCBO and The Beer Store? I ask what is wrong with us? -
Alberta Moving Ahead With 21st Century Learning
Ash74 replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Actually I really don't have a problem with the concept of 21st century learning but I believe it has some holes that need filled to make it a better program -

He is not a teacher. I am guessing OCD with his cult like worship of the 21st learning curriculum. My step brother is schizophrenic and is the same way with the bible. -

Ok than. I am asking. Why do the students in Quebec rank higher than the rest of Canada when it comes to math skills? Quebec is sticking to the old school way of teaching and it seems to be getting students better marks. I do understand that testing is an joke, proves nothing, is a waste of time, etc, etc but the students in Quebec are showing a better understanding of math than with this 21st century learning thing -
Or the same amount that did not want Chretien, Mulroney, Trudeau.etc, etc, etc Not saying it is pretty I just think it is the best system we could have.

The only poll that matters is on election day. In Ontario the Liberals formed a majority that nobody saw coming. (God help us) In B.C. everybody had the N.D.P winning and they went Liberal. PR is great if you have no desire to elect a person. Where I live it was very much the person and not the party that was voted in. Hence way I do not like PR. FPTP is ugly but I have yet to see a better solution. Wynne is going to add another tax that will anger the voters and push them to the Conservatives again out of revenge. That is my guess what will happen in the next Federal election.
