  1. Whoever called the cops to forcefully remove the guy in front of a plane full of people should be fired. I'll be it was a woman who made that decision.
  2. I guess we'll find out who wins this battle soon enough. My bet is on the passenger. The airline feels they have the right to legally act in that way - great, but it's cost them over a billion dollars so far in stocks. And that's before we start seeing customers turn away from them. I hope they relish in their "victory".
  3. You're clearly trying to be provocative with line of thinking. There is no way that anybody deserves that type of treatment. These airlines create their problems by overbooking (or not having flight crews where they need them), and therefore should fix their own problems. Why does their problem become the problem of a paying customer? These airlines should pony with cash (or free flights) until they have the required number or people accepting their offer. Simple! What they did was try to cheap out and bully a paying customer - I hope he gets $millions.
  4. The lowering of prices began before the tax was introduced. I suppose the tax had "somewhat" of an impact, but the bigger reason is that high end properties have dried up somewhat and also Vancouver people who wanted lottery type prices for their homes came back to reality a little. The Chinese currency laws are having somewhat of an effect and there can only be so many Chinese who are buying. Those Chinese though, who are paying a million dollars cash, aren't as dissuaded by the tax so much as the desirable properties are becoming fewer. IOW, it's just a natural course correction.
  5. The real estate market isn't going to crash in places like TO and Vancouver because it's foreign money buying the property. And , as the Canadian dollar lowers, it'll only get better for them. A foreign buyer tax will do nothing - either stop selling to outside interests or do what Vancouver people are doing - cashing out and leaving it for the Chinese.
  6. That tells us more about society these days than about Rickles. Watching that clip makes me remember back to when people were allowed to laugh.
  7. Is that really what "civil disobedience" looks like? I mean really, I didn't see any lefties screaming profanities, pepper spraying old folks or smashing windows at all, what gives?
  8. Canadians talk incessantly about Trump being a fascist, all the while the Canadian Liberals have moved way more toward fascism than Trump ever will.
  9. Well thanks, I think maybe I should enlighten you. You clearly think that a site like Wikipedia, who absolutely anyone can write whatever they want, is good sage information, but I'll try to explain things for the slow minded using an example; OK, During the OJ Simpson trial, the prosecution argued that OJ's motive was that he was controlling and a spousal abuser, and therefore was a prime candidate for murder, the defence argued that this fact meant nothing - both sides gave "alternate facts". The prosecution argued that some 80% of abused women who end up murdered, are murdered by their mate. The defense argued that only 1 out of 250,000 cases of spousal abuse ends in a death - and won the case because (they argued) spousal abuse does not equate to murder. So, what do we have? Fact one: 80% of abused women who end up dead are killed by their mate - Wow, that's really high! Fact two: 1 in 250,000 abused women end up killed - Well, that's not a very high number at all! You see, facts can mean different things and when the term "alternative facts" is applied, it's a way of looking at the facts from a different perspective. We do it on this forum all the time, and the media is using it to a tee to try and bring down Trump. Here's another one: One in 10,000 (or something like that) dates ends in rape, therefore men aren't actually mad stalking rapists. Feminists will use the alternative fact that 68% of rapes happen during a date - and therefore men are good for nothing rapists.
  10. I just don't think some people are bright enough to understand the term...^and now I know for sure^
  11. Just so you people know, "Alternative facts" is an actual thing. Alternative doesn't mean opposite and it doesn't mean "lie" - it means "other possibilities". Just because some idiots who are paid to look good on TV want to make fun of a woman who has an extraordinary track record in education and who has a law degree, won't or shouldn't change that. Alternative facts are things we (on this forum) discuss every day.
  12. This topic "women and jews on a plans" just screams for a good punchline.
  13. Terrorism isn't necessarily about numbers.
  14. Bull! Political correctness is directly tied to Marxism. The theory is simple, government can't control all the people, so have the people control each other - and shockingly enough, it's working..
  15. Oh OK, I wasn't aware that Islamic terrorism began in 2003 - now it all makes sense.
  16. I'm all for leaving them alone and letting them work it all out themselves. Like rats in a bucket, they'll destroy each other, unfortunately, we've welcomed the situation to pour into the west, now we have to deal with it.
  17. Why are there so many terrorist attacks on countries and people that have never waged war or forcibly taken oil from mid east countries? You people always argue that the terrorists kill more muslims than anyone else, maybe someone could explain why that is.
  18. As I said, this isn't political and it's not even revenge, it's religious.
  19. Oh, you mean he wasn't just some crazy acting alone, colour me surprised!
  20. As I said, I couldn't give a shit who thinks who started what. This is where we are, you can bend over and take it all you want, you can justify driving a car through a group of people. All it shows is that you have more compassion for the killers than the victims - Bravo, you must feel so enlightened.
  21. Personally, I'll cut the Muslims some slack when I hear of a terrorist attack and actually have to wonder who did it. As it is, when the news reported a car driving through a group of tourists, every single one of us knew it was gonna be a muslim - I knew it, and every one of us knew it too!
  22. Oh yeah, I forgot the good ol' "we deserve it" argument...and you know, at one point in my life, I might have bought into that too - I even used to believe in the idea of "oh hey man, if only they knew us better, we'd all get along" - man was I stupid to believe that crap. The fact is; It's not us...it's them. As you people keep saying, it's homegrown terrorism, and many of these people are from countries that England, France, Belgium etc have never done a solitary thing to. The Islams have waged a religious war and the west is terrified to accept that fact. I don't care who started it, but I know what side I'll be on when it comes to my country. The way we win is the same way we ended Japan's threat - plain and simple.
  23. I used to be one of you "don't fall for their plan" types, but after watching this for years, I've changed quite a bit. If we react or change our lifestyle, they win...right? How do we win? When do we win? Well, our lives have changed dramatically since 9/11, and I don't see the west as "winning" anything. 4 innocent people are dead, 4 families dealing with a dead family member and another 40 will have their lives drastically altered - so, is this what you'd call a win for England.
  24. Do you really not see any pattern to these terrorist attacks...really?
  25. Well, if 35 out of 36 numbers on a roulette table were black, wouldn't you bet on black?
