  1. Is the GDP calculated with inflation or without? And why should GDP have any influence on teachers wages, they're not producing or selling anything. Their wage should correlate with inflation, not economic growth. The BCTF can spew all sorts of numbers, this is propaganda. However, it's good to see that the BCTF have such faith in Christy Clark to show such an increase in growth.
  2. That chart is not totally correct. And, the special needs are only there for portions of the day because they have their own 1 on 1 time. The problem with special needs though is that some go undiagnosed, and therefore get no support work. The school districts would like to diagnose those kids and hire more EA workers, but they can't because the BCTF wants more teachers instead. More teachers will not drastically reduce any of these numbers and would not come close to solving this issue. More EA's would be the solution and you can hire 4 of them for the cost of 1 teacher.
  3. Please help us if the only reason to vote for a guy is his stance on pot. What about education, foreign policy, economy, crime, financial growth, terrorism (yes, it exists)? Does anybody really have a problem getting weed? I don't think I know anybody who has been arrested for weed in years, I'd like to see the stats on that though because i'm all in favour of decriminalizing weed but i surely won't vote a guy into power for it - that's just stupid. It's all about economy, if the economy is good everything else falls into place.
  4. In an abortion, the doctor cuts off the arms and legs of a baby, then crushes it's skull and pulls it out with forcepts. Full term babies are killed this way.
  5. You can't ask direct questions because all you'll get is this; What's the current ratio/number? A: Too many What are those fighting in the trenches teachers after in this regard? A: Smaller classes
  6. Most Down Syndrome people live a happy life. They can have goals and experiences and can be quite enjoyable to be around. They can have all the emotions of a typical person (albeit diminished). They do have hearing and they do have eyes. There are many worse disabilities than Down Syndrome. Dawkins is the one that should be aborted.
  7. At least the guy is shelling out 100K, that dog from the Port Hardy reserve went through much worse and nobody will say a thing about the owners.
  8. Yeah, it's called common sense - what are you looking for?
  9. I'm sure a lot of black murders are gang related, but I found it a little awkward that he so easily stereotyped the black community that way - to cheers of approval from the left. I can only imagine the outrage had O'Reilly said that.
  10. ag·i·ta·tor noun \ˈa-jə-ˌtā-tər\ : a person who tries to get people angry or upset so that they will support an effort to change a government, company, etc. : one that agitates: as a : one who stirs up public feeling on controversial issues<political agitators> In this computer age, have people really just given up on common sense? Do you really need a cite to understand a simple term. The guy is an agitator - he knows it, we all know it! It's no secret.
  11. Apparently, you forfeit your right to be against this douchebag because of eating that salami. I kicked a piece of salami the other day, so I'm just staying out of the whole mess.
  12. Well, It's an opinion, just like your opinion. However, what is fact; is that Al Sharpton is an agitator. He's not there for support, he's there to agitate the populous.
  13. Yes, I especially liked the opening. Look, I'm glad that Jon Stewart is there to let us know that it's OK to finally laugh at the whole Brown shooting thing, but referring to blacks who shoot blacks as being "gangs" is kinda stereotyping. P.S - Stewart is looking and sounding more like Rachel Maddow every day.
  14. Do you honestly think they are helping the situation?
  15. So, if i eat a pig, can I or can't I ethically kick a dog?
  16. EA's get reviewed. You can do it and base the findings on where the student was and where they are now. Maybe not every student, but you can tell from a few students whether a particular teacher is helping or not. I've seen some obvious poor teachers, and I've seen teachers who are bullies. The principles and the other teachers know the good ones from the bad. So do parents if they watch and listen to the kids. The teachers simply feel that they are above question - simple as that!
  17. Jeez, I woulda thought that a teacher like yourself is privy to the meetings last night....hmmm
  18. What are you talking about? They're both looking for a diplomatic way out of size and composition. What will happen is they settle for money and "postpone" or leave open the size and composition issue for a "later discussion".
  19. Well, in short we're soon gonna find out whether the teachers care more about class size and composition or wages and pensions.
  20. As a teacher, you must have received the emails last night, can you please summarize them for us?
  21. Israel has wanted to end it for quite some time, it was Hamas that kept it going longer than necessary.
  22. One minute he's a 9yo Hamas freedom fighter/terrorist, the next minute he's a poor, murdered palastinian child - but that's for another thread.
  23. Is this the point? There have been lots of armed robberies in Ferguson and Michael Brown did live in Ferguson....so....!
  24. No, not recoil - I agree, but getting shot in the head with a .22 is still almost always gonna be fatal. Look, you seem to have it together gun wise and you're probably very safe, but I'm not talking about the general enthusiast, I'm more talking about the "carnival ranges" for lack of a better word. I don't know how often you've seen these places, but they're filled with partiers, bachelorettes, guys in flip flops that have had a few...and kids. The lefties on here will always try to throw out the baby with the bathwater (unless its a drug issue), so before they stir up about getting rid of guns all together again - it would be prudent to put just a few regulations in place for these facilities - just my opinion.
  25. Who cares about the value? They're guns used by a business to make a quick buck - fired by thousands of different people each year. It's like saying a cab loses it's value by painting it yellow, who cares - it's still a cab and will never be the value of a car that was not a cab. I'm not saying do this for personal weapons, just those used in those recreation shops. BTW - A converted Uzi-.22 cal. would still have this guy dead.
