The entire World is lost because a tiny percent are radicalized around an incongruent, violent ideology and attack others? I think that meme should disqualify a person from any involvement with nuclear weapons….. Like I said, suicidal logic. Neat story, but I fail to see what that has to do with nuclear warfare and the ending of all human life on the planet.

The doesn’t address this scenario though…….for instance, say said terror group infiltrated high levels of Government, and said government was powerless to stop said attacks……….Is ending all life on the planet a valid response? What if no tanks, but said terror group acquired several low-yield nuclear devices and detonated them in the ports in Montreal and Vancouver? Do we then end all life on earth or allow said behaviour to continue?

What if they then launch counter sanctions? Then start targeting Canadians and their interests around the world, all the while, still committing acts of terrorism on Canadian soil? At what point do you consider all as lost?

If that’s the case, in that those that find others trollish choose to ignore them, and said “troll” is no longer “fed”, wouldn’t said troll either stop trolling & move on or just be minumlized to such a point the/she is no longer an issue?- 1,890 replies

But what if it becomes a continuous problem that the police are unable to handle, and said terror group is receiving support directly or indirectly from a nation-state? Is all considered lost at that point?

Yet the Chinese have and are building polar icebreakers.......And your narrative on the Russians seems at odds with actual events.......None the less, you take my post and point out of context.

Is there a Canadian jurisdiction further West then British Columbia? And yes, we certainly do have greater taxes on fuel consumption, but in comparison to Ontario with it’s lower rates, we’re not broke.

BC Teachers Getting Screwed...Again
Derek 2.0 replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I agree it’s a stunt to an extent, but like all segments of society, you’ll have some members that are fiscally inept or have more valid circumstances (teachers that are single parents or both partners teach etc). With that said, if I were a teacher (I’m not but my sister and brother in-law are) I’d be really asking what happened to the strike fund. With my sister and her husbands case, they’ve been paying dues since the early 80s and received $300 between the two of them…..Now they’ve paid off their mortgage, have little household debt and have significant savings, so even if the strike went into the following school year, they’d have very little in terms of financial difficulties. That is not the case though for many teachers that are held hostage by the secretive and unaccountable BCTF executive. -
That sounds like suicidal logic……..Perhaps you should define parameters for pulling the pin on yourself …Would you end all human life on the planet if a non-state actor gassed a subway or flew a couple of airlines into some buildings?

F-35 Purchase Cancelled; CF-18 replacement process begins
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As the requirements for the Hornet replacement are currently defined, only one currently produced aircraft meets said requirement……in effect, a sole sourced contract no? -
F-35 Purchase Cancelled; CF-18 replacement process begins
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
When does a RFP become a sole source contract? The Advanced Super Hornet Proposal is varied in both size and scope, some portions already at the demonstrator phase (conformal fuel tanks) and some both unfunded and undeveloped (new avionics, radar and engine), with the option of new builds and retrofits to the existing fleet during SLEP……. The USN can request unfunded priorities to it’s hearts content, but is also fighting tooth and nail to maintain the George Washington CVBG…..it stands to reason with the potential loss of an aircraft carrier, the USN will have no need for additional Super Hornets. -

F-35 Purchase Cancelled; CF-18 replacement process begins
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The dates appear “wrong” in more than one of the highlighted programs……As to an announcement, I do fully expect it sometime over the summer break (on a Friday afternoon)……..With that said, the possibility of punting the selection post-2015 is certainly there…….delay will only hurt the RCAF’s planned transition timeframe, but it wouldn’t be the first time political expediency took the front seat to DND’s needs. And how will they do that? Bake sales and car washes? With the loss in the Brazilian competition, Super Hornet production will end in 2016.…. -

I understand that, but you're sacrificing the ability to perform a layered conventional response in favour of Strangelove’s doomsday device...

F-35 Purchase Cancelled; CF-18 replacement process begins
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If the timeframe is to be taken as gospel, two (and possibly all three) of the touted “alternatives” will no longer be in production….. -
F-35 Purchase Cancelled; CF-18 replacement process begins
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My position is steadfast, the intent of the document in itself appears clear, the convergence starts with how it relates to both ongoing, proposed and since abandoned programs at the political level. -
If the concept was never born, we’d likely not be chatting here so enjoyably....

It was/is certainly a mad strategy, but one all nuclear nations would partake if required. The issue, is the disallowance of a measured (conventional) response.

So I assume the remainder choose not to exercise the ignore feature (if simply unable to just ignore you with a concentrative effort, sans the feature), instead they go with talking about you and your contributions further in this thread……… One would assume that if a certain segment deem you a “troll”, they’d simply suspend “feeding you”…..instead they continue on, in effect lending further attention to the proclaimed “troll”…..appears a bass-ackwards strategy.- 1,890 replies
