  1. Oh I agree.......big difference......Quite obviously safe handling should be paramount for shooters of all ages……I avoid these type of sideshows and public ranges like the plague.
  2. Exactly......I chalk this up ultimately up to poor instruction, combined with an inexperienced shooter. Little girls, if trained safely, can handle firearms: God Bless America!!!
  3. It's dependant if they have prior safe firearms knowledge.......In this case, I doubt the young girl had, and of course, an Uzi was probably not the best choice for any inexperienced shooter due to its lightweight and inherent muzzle rise………She would have been much better off shooting a full size rifle, like an AK-47 or M-16, with a proper stock….if at all.
  4. Why would you consider it weird? I consider the media source posting the video weird..... As to the accident itself, I’d expect the parents to have signed a waiver absolving the range of any liability, hence I doubt they would be able to sue…….Hopefully the instructor’s family has a good life insurance policy………..accidents happen.
  5. I doubt members will be forthcoming with extra dues.....My sister and brother in-law each pay over $1200 a year in dues, and have been paying dues since the early 80s (prior to the BCTF formation) and received three days strike pay ($50 a day)..........Not a good return on investment.........Now the BCTF has over 40000 members (only about half are full time teachers), all paying dues.......If I was a member, I'd wonder where all the money went.... I expect teachers will be paying off credit cards and lines of credit once a deal has been reached.......
  6. I doubt it.....if a 1-year contract is legislated sometime in October, I expect teachers will be more apprehensive going forward in voting in favour of a full fledged strike.
  7. The BCTF will have to come down from their demands, the Government won't go into deficit or raise taxes..........coupled with the Government being able to weather a further work stoppage.......Soon, we'll start hearing about teachers losing their homes and going bankrupt... The BCTF should never have went to stage 3 job action so early.....Teachers would have been able to hold out longer with 90% pay, rather than 0%. I have no doubtt, once this is settled, the BCTF leadership will be given the toss.
  8. Oh come on..........you can let out a couple more hints, who's going to know
  9. You brought up Texas.......And hinted at going to Lone Star.
  10. So what does that have to do with Texas?
  11. Where's J'bad? I've lived in Decatur and Amarillo.
  12. Cool........I lived there for three years and travel several times a year for work and to visit family friends........Where have you been?
  13. .......Like I said:
  14. By all means......do tell.....But I'll give you a hint, know the difference first between their Republic and State flags!!
  15. Right........what was the limit?
  16. There is no limit on mag size in North Carolina!!! Of course, Blackwater, like all other military or PMC users employ STANAG standard cap mags.........Are you going to regale a video game Beta Mag dump?
  17. SPORTS has been in continued usage for the M-16 family since the 1960s!!!!! And no, I don't play video games, fore (outside of the AK) I own (Multiple) variants of the actual guns that you claimed (very poorly) to have used during your bogus claimed period of employment at Blackwater!!!! Now please, explain how sight alignment and picture would have been applied by officer Wilson during the shooting of Michael Brown……..be it Brown advancing or retreating to/from Wilson….
  18. No it's not.........FM 3.22.9 of the US Army field manual, and has been applied by all users of the M-16 family since the incorporation of the forward assist after the initial failures in the field during Vietnam………. I have forgotten more on the subject of firearms then you will ever gleam by reading the posts of others on your video game forums!!!! How does Blackwater apply SPORTS to their SOCOM M-14s, AK-47s, Wilson Combat 870s, Mossberg 590A1s and M-9/92Fs ??????
  19. You're full of it.......Outside of a weapons malfunction, nobody would apply the forward assist unnecessarily to a M-16/AR-15/M4 rifle…….. You're waaaaay out of your depth on this subject mater, and your continued line of BS doesn't fool anyone that has actually operated a M-16/AR-15/M4 rifle.... Now, care to explain why sight alignment & picture would play a factor in the police shooting of Brown?
  20. No......SPORTS is for a malfunction with an M-16 family of rifle........... When you first pick up any firearm, you PROVE it safe..... The "O" in SPORTS is observing a live round/spent casing leaving the chamber after you've Pulled ("P") the charging handle back.......The "O" in PROVE is to observe the chamber is clear.
  21. No......SPORTS is designed to address a weapons malfunction........The first "S" is to ensure the follower is working correctly, with "P" bringing a new round to battery.....
  22. One observes the ejection of a live round/spent cartridge, ensuring the chamber is clear of blockage.
  23. More BS.......Immediate action and the use of the forward assist is only applied when in contact with an enemy and the stoppage is life or death....if you were concerned with safety, performing remedial action is the safer taught method to all involved, well ensuring your rifle is in proper working order.
  24. No, the last "S" is to squeeze the trigger........if you were going to safe the gun, you'd perform remedial action. So, do you know now, which letter applies to the forward assist? Clearly if you knew what you were talking about, namely clearing a A-15/M-16/M-4 platform in battlefield conditions, applying immediate action, you'd understand the importance of the forward assist.
