  1. I'm confident we are not on the same page. But you didn't answer the question.
  2. So he just needs to apologize to get a pass? Really?
  3. So he gets a pass because he apologized for those terribly racist comments against the First Lady and the POTUS but Charlie sheen gets dragged over the coals cause he's a no good washed up actor! Even though it was a joke.
  4. Gotcha. I must have missed it. Silly me.
  5. So if it's not a joke, he gets a pass?
  6. Rebutted? You mean ignored don't you?
  7. Yes. His emotions got the better of him. Poor guy. But it was a joke. Really. No harm done.
  8. It's sensible to grab women by the pussy because he can Its fine to joke about earning a Purple Heart. Its sensible to make fun of disabled people. I could go on but what's the use. His actions are ignored by his supports but they don't make them sensible.
  9. So making racist 'jokes' is ok?
  10. I am 100% confident that Trump does not recognize sensibility.
  11. Well, he also said, "he wanted Michelle Obama to go away and “return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.” Are we supposed to treat this as a joke and not a racist comment or just not pay attention to it.
  12. A statement put out by the University: "We believe this course, which is one of thousands offered at our university, will benefit students who are interested in developing a deeper understanding of race issues, the course is a challenge and response to racism of all kinds." I hope they review the 'Brown Eyes vs Blue Eyes Group Prejudice' experiment that Jane Elliott conducted in her classroom after Martin Luther King was assassinated. She had a mostly white class and wasn't sure how to get her students to understand what the black community was going through. I'm sure most of you have heard about it, but if not, you can read about the experiment here.
  13. Well, whiteness is fragile so..... Won't be long before the Professor starts receiving hate mail, and white supremacists show up on campus to protest.
  14. There are plenty of black studies in America and no doubt cover many of the topics you discuss above, whether it's perceived and/or the reasons for them.
  15. Thank you for that informative post Rue.
  16. The jw's I know prior to being brainwashed were not big readers and rarely followed the news and not highly educated. I suppose that wouldn't apply to people born into a cult who are brainwashed from a very early age. Would that be true do you two think?
  17. Shouldn't this be posted in political philosophy
  18. As usual you are responding to Breitbart headlines instead of delving deeper. These courses have been offered at many institutions: "In 2003, The Post’s Darryl Fears reported that at least 30 institutions, including Princeton and the University of California at Los Angeles, had courses in whiteness studies despite widespread opposition." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/11/12/a-course-originally-called-the-problem-of-whiteness-returns-to-asu-as-racial-tensions-boil-over-on-campuses/?utm_term=.a56eaf7b7949 When Elizabeth Hesselback disagrees with the course you know this course is totally appropriate.
  19. Interesting about the psychologists. It is amazing to see someone you know become such a different person almost overnight. It's scary to think how vulnerable we all are if exposed to enough indoctrination.
  20. I think that once someone has been brainwashed it does turn into a mental illness so I'm not surprised someone would be driven to suicide feeling that they are powerless. Not sure if you would agree with that statement.
  21. Yes. Nothing will be done to curtail Scientology. But at least she is casting light on it.
  22. It's freedom of religion. They are not recognized as a cult.
  23. This is why I hate cults. They destroy families, relationships between family members and they can drag their kids door knocking. Such an abuse to children. Not to mention their restriction on their sexual behaviours! Good grief.
  24. So glad to hear you had the strength to challenge them. I bet your life is much happier now. I have personally witnessed horror stories coming out of that cult but probably nothing you had to endure.
  25. That's an interesting way to put it. A panic feeling.
