Covering a woman's face is a symbol of oppression. I have never seen a man cover his face. Have you?

The warm personal memory also sends a message what is meant by being a Canadian woman. Canadians do not condone women having to hide their faces.

I feel that we need to show women who choose to wear the niqab that it isn't something that Canadians encourage in our free society where women are treated as equals. There is no need for women to hide themselves especially during this ceremony. As I have said previously, by banning the niqab we are sending a message to women that Canadians respect women and they do not need to hide. It may take them a while to understand our culture, but I would hope they would get it eventually. Polygamy is another story, especially here in BC. A good topic for another thread. I have no problem sending a message to women seeking citizenship in Canada that disallows them from wearing the niqab during this ceremony.

She does matter. She gives voice to other parties.

So we have folks attacking against feminists or attacking against whatever. I just want to hear her debate the big boys. Why are we being shut down?

I care about hearing from as many candidates as possible.

I don't care if the Green Party is a major player . I want to hear from all candidates on the main stage. She deserves nothing less. Please don't take away my options to listen to all candidates.

I work in a district of bc that has a hard time recruiting White IT workers so we have to hire workers with limited English speaking skills however they are very smart so we encourage them to upgrade both English and IT skills. White Canadians just don't want to relocate to this area.
