Yes, you get the irony...because we all know what Islam really thinks about women: as second class baby factories who are better unseen and unheard. Yet, folks still support it as 'progressive' and Margaret Atwood shows no signs of writing about it as per The Handmaid's Tale.

The mainstream media loves the racism narrative. A story of a black guy raping or attacking someone white, cursing at them, calling them names, none of that is worth covering. It's the routine crap of minor anger and crime. But if the races are reversed, if there's a video of some white person yelling insults at a minority, or a story of them attacking one, then the media are off to the races! I can see them all now racing in a mass towards the reported crime! Sirens wailing and horns honking, heads ticking out of car windows with tongues lolling out like eager hound dogs! Remember the last incident, some white woman yelling insults at an Asian woman over a parking dispute? The mainstream media love that stuff. It's the same as police shootings. Let both be the same races and its a routine story. If the cop is white and the guy shot is black, though, the media is off to the races! Big story time! National coverage! Oh the tragedy! The media coverage over that scumbag Michael Brown being shot by police in Ferguson led to riots and the murders of police, but they couldn't care less. Any time they get the chance to suggest racism they'll take it.

After recent events with blackface etc., I'm inclined to think Mr. Trudeau will win with a majority as well. Prior to this I was more inclined to Liberal minority. So in a way, the blackface scandal has only solidified liberal love for Mr. Trudeau, the act of forgiveness providing them a perverted form of catharsis, soul healing, cleansing. He was black, but now he has repented. From now on he is and will always be white.

Thus, we end up with bizarre and contradictory statements like, "Yes, there is a lot of misogyny in Islam." and "Very few Muslims follow the religion's misogynistic teachings." I think some of these ones with cognitive dissonance are okay with criticising Islam by admitting (usually very reluctantly) that there is a lot of misogyny in Islam but that's as far as they allow the discussion to go. Any specifics about the actual misogyny, why it's wrong, how it affects women or how it affects society in general are viewed as intolerant views. They also require a lot of hand holding and reassurance that "not all Muslims".

I like this part. Western society has managed to convince itself (at least in public) that any statement criticising any aspect of Islam is, by definition, bigotry. As a result, Western societies have effectively decided to enforce Islamic restrictions on blasphemy, and called it ‘tolerance’.

Jacee I get it , but in the art of negotiating one must make comprises to get what you want. My question is what are they willing to comprises on, and what will it cost them....getting into bed with thieves and lairs can only hurt their image, And lets not forget a lot of those voters are coming from the NDP and carry their values as well making it even that much harder to find the middle ground, with driving them away. Minority government also tend to get little done, all this negotiating takes time and effort. What part of Mays platform do you see the liberals jumping on ? I really don't see much common ground do you.

I don't believe what "the polls say". Fake polls were just used as a tool to back the media's stance that Trudeau's scandals weren't a big deal. They throw out some lukewarm coverage and show some video footage of people downplaying the incident and they come out with "Look at the latest and greatest polling results - no one cares about these teensy scandals! And hey, look at these ducks that walked across the highway in Kitchener yesterday! Sooo adorable!!!!" When Trump was drawing massive crowds all over the States the media down there used fake polling results to make Hillary seem like the more popular candidate too. Stick to your guns people. Vote.

A very disturbing trend in Canada now is that Justin Trudeau's behavior and lies have become 'acceptable' . . . more disturbing yet is his cabinet of brain-dead penguins have accepted his criminal behavior and have surrounded and support him. Those same brain-dead penguins have a lesser grasp of 'ethics' than their leader . . . . this country is in deep shit.
