We need to manufacture close to where the resources are coming from and use the products again close to those places. With those multi-billion dollar projects Canada starts looking like a low-end developing country that can do nothing better than export raw materials.

Sorry that you are a deluded Canadian nanny stater who is allowing Canada to become a speech banning gun grabbing tyranny in the name of gun control which doesn't stop mass shootings in Canada. You'll just end up with speech bans and mass shootings as the discontent in Canada continues to escalate, but clearly you have succumb to the Canadian disease of rallying around tyranny and totalitarianism in the name of the state protecting you from yourself.

I've met a few in my life, I also have friends my age who were sent by the government to residential schools and raped. I think the biggest challenge is forming a consensus amongst non-indigenous peoples, especially when it comes to Canada getting off its deadbeat ass and addressing the genocide. Genocide is very accurate according to the originator of the term and who's definition the Final Report cites on page 56. Judging by the response from a lot of the usual suspects around here I'd say attempts to create an atmosphere of moral debasement has enjoyed a lot of success.

The actual proposal under those projects is this: "We can sell your forests, oil, gas and metals and this will bring us $196 billion. In the process we will destroy your favorite rivers, mountains, ocean resorts; we will kill the wildlife, cause an environmental catastrophe like the World has never known; wipe out your tourist industry, fishing industry and farming; we will contaminate your water sources, flood your houses or cause severe droughts and wild fires. But you vote for our projects because they are good for Canada ." (hi-hi-hi , this patriotic spin fools them all the time).
