This inmate... has done nothing wrong, has taken no step to change the law or change policy or obtain any new right or benefit...all he did was use proper civil legal non-violent procedures (our Judeo-Christian ones) to enforce a right that the government (our government) already previously said he has.

Society has NO obligation, NONE whatsoever to provide special food to prisoners that are in jail for commiting a crime. The absolute entirety of what society is obligated to provide is the minimum to keep the prisoners from starvation. Their religion is irrelevant. A criminal is a criminal whether he is a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Sikh, Buddhist, atheist, vegetarion, vegan, carnivore, cannibal, or whatever else, and will eat criminal food, not Halal food or Kosher food or any other kind of food.

A society that wastes money on accomodating all the possible variations in dietary "requirements" in a prison is simply way off track. Why do law abiding, productive citizens have to pay more tax so that rapists and murderers and thieves can eat fancy meals?

i dont think we are talking about gourmet food preparations here. the ommission of pork from a muslim or jewish prisoners diet is reasonable.

ultimately it is up to society as to how its prisoners are treated, and religious persecution is not part of the sentence.

and since the prisoner has the legal right to take these actions, he should do so. certainly the state will execute its priviledge, with impunity, anytime it has the right to in legal matters.

I can't read certain colours at all. Likewise, black with white lettering is extremely hard for me to read.

I have spoken to jbg about it personally today. I was probably too harsh in my criticism and should have stated that my eyestrain is more of the result of not being able to see what is written. I don't recall saying anything about the worth of what was posted.

If you feel the need to attack my inability to see what is on screen, I guess that is your prerogative. It is also your prerogative to dislike the content of what I write. However, if you said that you couldn't read what I write, I would make the changes so that you could despite whatever had transpired in the past.
