Remembering Osama and AlQeada

Recommended Posts

Thought we should revist Osama and al Qeada, seeing as how a convicted al Qeada member was sent home from Gitmo.

Hicks's return was cloaked in secrecy on government orders after an intense public campaign that damaged Prime Minister John Howard's standing ahead of an election due later this year.

Polls have showed slipping support for Howard, who has been accused of indifference over Hicks's case, despite a five-year struggle by family, friends and the public to bring him home.

Hicks's van sped past the media and into Yatala Prison, where he will spend the next seven months after he pleaded guilty to providing material support to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network.

"He was visibly elated when we touched down, and he'll be very glad to see his family," said McLeod, who accompanied Hicks on the flight with police, prison guards and a medical officer on the private jet, a Gulfstream V.

Hicks, 31, was captured in Afghanistan in late 2001 and spent five years in Guantanamo before he was sentenced in March to seven years' jail.

Under a deal with U.S. prosecutors, most of his sentence was suspended and he will be free on December 29, 2007.

And this truth that should have been listened to, and I notice today elsewhere that some are trying to re-write history and say the US government did not train and fund Osama.

Since the Cold War era, Washington has consciously supported Osama bin Laden, while at same time placing him on the FBI's "most wanted list" as the World's foremost terrorist.

While the Mujahideen are busy fighting America's war in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union, the FBI --operating as a US based Police Force- is waging a domestic war against terrorism, operating in some respects independently of the CIA which has --since the Soviet-Afghan war-- supported international terrorism through its covert operations.

In a cruel irony, while the Islamic jihad --featured by the Bush Adminstration as "a threat to America"-- is blamed for the terrorist assaults on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, these same Islamic organisations constitute a key instrument of US military-intelligence operations in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union.

In the wake of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, the truth must prevail to prevent the Bush Adminstration together with its NATO partners from embarking upon a military adventure which threatens the future of humanity.

The above link has many more links, to congressional records even, proving that the USA funded Osama Bin Laden.

And then there is this:

The CIA, under the Direction of William Casey, stepped up the war against the Soviet Union in 1986 by persuading the U.S. Congress to provide the Mujaheddin with American-made Stinger anti-aircraft missiles to shoot down Soviet planes and provide U.S. advisers to train the guerrillas. Casey committed CIA support to a long-standing ISI initiative to recruit radical Muslims from around the world to come to Pakistan and fight with the Afghan Mujaheddin. Apparently, none of the intelligence agencies involved considered the consequences of bringing together thousands of Islamic radicals from all over the world. These Islamic volunteers have their own agendas and have now turned their hatred against the Soviets towards Americans.

The war left a legacy of expert and experienced fighters, training camps and logistical facilities, elaborate Trans-Islam networks of personal and organizational relationships, a substantial amount of military equipment including 300 to 500 unaccounted-for Stinger missiles, and a sense of power and self-confidence over what had been achieved.

Among these thousands of foreign recruits was a young Saudi student, Osama bin Laden. He first traveled to Peshawar in 1980 and met the Mujaheddin leaders, returning frequently with Saudi donations for the cause until 1982, when he decided to settle in Peshawar. He brought in his company of engineers and heavy construction equipment to help build roads and depots for the Mujaheddin. In 1986, he helped build the Khost tunnel complex, that the CIA was funding as a major arms storage depot, training facility and medical center for the Mujaheddin, deep under the mountains close to the Pakistan border. For the first time in Khost he set up his own training camp for Arab Afghans, who now increasingly saw this lanky, wealthy and charismatic Saudi as their leader.

Hint, there is too much evidence to the contrary for "the CIA didn't fund Osama" dog to hunt, only the truly wantwits would believe otherwise in face of all the proof to the contrary.

You know what is so interesting about 'AlQuaeda', they always show up whenever it suits US foreign policy/business interests , it's quite amazing, really.

There is of course the whole AlQuaeda/Russia, thing. The genesis of it all.

'AlQuaeda' fighters were there, fighting Serbs, right when the US/Britian was initiating the Trans/Balkan pipelines

Then luckily for US again, ' AlQuaeda' /9/11, just to help the US get into another country, they had been all hot and heavy for Afghanistan, and another pipeline.

Then as of late, just when US/British interests in African oil are becoming more and more obvious, and necessary, there is 'AlQuaeda'!

Now the US didn't need AlQuaeda for Iraq, though the administration did try to link them, but they already had the boogie man Saddam, so , it wasn't hugely important.

I am thinking 'AlQuaeda' is a psychic organization, and they anticipate the US/Britians every need, before they need it, and then , they give the US an excuse to launch much WANTED excursions into said countries to fight for and set up pipeline deals, etc., oops, I mean fight terrorism, and save humanity

America used Islamists to arm the Bosnian Muslims

The Srebrenica report reveals the Pentagon's role in a dirty war

Richard J Aldrich

Monday April 22, 2002

http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,...,688310,00.html

The result was a vast secret conduit of weapons smuggling though Croatia. This was arranged by the clandestine agencies of the US, Turkey and Iran, together with a range of radical Islamist groups, including Afghan mojahedin and the pro-Iranian Hizbullah. Wiebes reveals that the British intelligence services obtained documents early on in the Bosnian war proving that Iran was making direct deliveries.

Arms purchased by Iran and Turkey with the financial backing of Saudi Arabia made their way by night from the Middle East. Initially aircraft from Iran Air were used,

but as the volume increased they were joined by a mysterious fleet of black C-130 Hercules aircraft. The report stresses that the US was "very closely involved" in the airlift. Mojahedin fighters were also flown in, but they were reserved as shock troops for especially hazardous operations.
Rather than the CIA, the Pentagon's own secret service was the hidden force behind these operations. The UN protection force, UNPROFOR, was dependent on its troop-contributing nations for intelligence, and above all on the sophisticated monitoring capabilities of the US to police the arms embargo. This gave the Pentagon the ability to manipulate the embargo at will: ensuring that American Awacs aircraft covered crucial areas and were able to turn a blind eye to the frequent nightime comings and goings at Tuzla.

or from James Bissett , former Canadian ambassador to Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Albania, 1990-1992.:

National Post (Canada), 13 November 2001

Bin Laden and radical Muslim groups have been deeply involved in the Balkans since the civil wars in Bosnia from 1992 to 1995. Despite a UN arms embargo and with the knowledge and support of the United States, arms, ammunition and thousands of Mujahideen fighters were smuggled into Bosnia to help the Muslims. Many remain in Bosnia today and are recognized as a serious threat to Western forces there. The Bosnian government is said to have presented bin Laden with a Bosnian passport in recognition of his contribution to their cause. He and his al-Qaeda network were also active in Kosovo, and KLA members trained in his camps in Afghanistan and Albania.

I think you're onto something here!!

Though I think that our dear pal Israel needs to be included into this list of patrons! With the latest (VERY convenient) Al'CIAduh related militants inciting fighting in Lebanon, one must ask the question: WHO benefits?

It's oh so very nice of Al'CIAduh to appear exactly when needed! How lovely of a diversion to take the sheepies eyes off of Olmert, Bush et al - and concentrate them on the biggest boogey man of all time!

Boo!!

Excellent points both of you. It is good to see things even more fleshed out.

One reason for the start of this thread is elsewhere on line in a military forum, I was reading the propaganda they were being fed that the CIA did not fund/train Osama Bin Laden, and that it was just a "lefty myth".

What is even more sad though is that just last week the USA announced they were limiting internet access to their military personell.. It would seem that they want them fully indoctirinated and they weren't being so.

Wonder if these new lies decrying CIA involvement comes on the heels of Cheney being in Iraq and making a speech to the troops where he paused waiting for for the handclapping and cheers, only to be met with stoney silence?

Canada follows, helping the Islamists in the former Yugoslavia, right along there with US and British Intelligence.

There is alot of interesting info, on that chapter in the Trans/Balkan pipelines' life.

The US makes the same mistakes over and over again. They wanted to wipe out Russia, so they helped arm OBL, who was a CIA agent named "Tim Osman". Goggle it and see what you get. OBL watched how the US worked their foreign policies and right or wrong decided he couldn't stand by and watch was being done to the people in the Middle-East. I've heard that the CIA has it own military within the department and they have done alot of things most people don't know about. I wonder if Col. North has nightmares at night?

Lewis Mackenzie (former UN commander in Bosnia), `

We Bombed

the Wrong Side?' National Post, 4/6/04: `Those of us who warned that

the West was being sucked in on the side of an extremist, militant,

Kosovo-Albanian independence movement were dismissed as appeasers.

The fact that the lead organization spearheading the fight for

independence, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), was universally

designated a terrorist organization and known to be receiving support

from Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda was conveniently ignored....The Kosovar

Albanians played us like a Stradivarius violin. We have subsidized

and indirectly supported their violent campaign for an ethnically

pure Kosovo. We have never blamed them for being the perpetrators of

the violence in the early 1990s, and we continue to portray them as

the designated victim today, in spite of evidence to the contrary.

When they achieve independence with the help of our tax dollars

combined with those of bin Laden and al-Qaeda, just consider the

message of encouragement this sends to other terrorist-supported

independence movements around the world."

The Albanaians didn't play anyone, what nonsense.

NATO (Canada) Britian and the US knew exactly what they were doing.

MacKenzie acknolwedges directly that " KLA was universally

designated a terrorist organization and known to be receiving support

from Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda was conveniently ignored." and goes further with ".we subsidized

and indirectly supported their violent campaign"

Brits, US and Alquaeda shoulder to shoulder, for a common cause.

edited to add:The US/britian/nato was actively supporting the KLA, training, weapons etc., right as OBL, and other notable alquaeda members were on the ground training to support the US led action in the regions.

again Alquaeda works to the benefit of US/British strategic interests.

Pipelines are arteries for God's blessing!

Is this a problem, that AlQuaeda has served the US and British interests so well??

Not for the UK and the US, and American/British oil interests, not a problem at all.

"Pipelines are arteries for God's blessing!"

and 'God bless's America' often enough, to help them build and control pipelines, for geo-strategic/political reasons.
