NEW YORK -- Heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio and envelope-pushers Rosie O'Donnell and Sacha Baron Cohen are among the entertainment newsmakers on Time magazine's list of 100 people who shape the world.

The list of 100 most influential, on newsstands Friday, also includes Queen Elizabeth II, presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, YouTube founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, director Martin Scorsese and model Kate Moss. ...

...

Link

most interesting part of the list is not that Rosie O'Donnell is on it --- to me it's most interesting who is NOT on the list

...It does not include President Bush.

...

How bad of a president, how failed must his foreign policy be, how rejected as a leader must he be to not make it onto the top 100 influential people

how sad of an Emmett Kelly is this shrubbistic subhumanoid

Time shows its true colors. Who would want to be in it with a filthy piece of work like O'Donnell. It would be like getting the order of Canada for gear boxes and idiots.

In America, we call that type of response, 'sour grapes.'

Uh no, it's called bias. In a story with 100 people to talk about, this link spends 2 paragraphs on Rosie. I saw no actual list. I'd like to see how many conservative leaders made the list. I'll bet not even 5 if they put Justin Timberlake on it. Time is definitely left, so no surprise.

Are you aware, you are saying B.Max is biased?

"conservative leaders" -- so, making a list of influential people should be, 'fair and balanced,' :) as opposed to looking for influential people

poor pathetic right wingers need some kind of, 'quota system,' for popular magazine notoriety?

Uh, no again. The magazine is left wing so it doesn't find that there are any conservatives in the top 100. Of course, this won't stop the Bill O'reillys from taking the lead time and time again when framing the debate on any number of issued that Americans face.

holding up Bill O'Reilly as a conservative could easily explain why you see the word, 'lie,' so often --

Bill falsely claimed to have won a Peabody Award

Bill falsely claimed the French ambassador had been sent to New York to talk him out of boycotting French products.

gee, it really is difficult to describe Bill with out using the, 'L,' word - his list of prevarications runs well past the horizon

and your answer doesn't account for you referring to B.Max's sour grapes reply as, 'bias'ed

Sounded a little strange until you find out the truth, and as usual leftwing nut bars are behind it using their smear tactics.

You and Franken must have went to the same left wing smear tactic school.

I chose Bill because, A) He's very influencial in the conservative world, much like Rosie is in her world

B) I figured the mere mention of his name would cause you to respond with your L word.

The point remains there are many very inflluencial people on the right side of the isle as there are on the left. Just because you don't like any of them does not make it less so.

Well GWB was on the list of Time's 100 Most Influential people. Just not this year.

He was on the list in 2004-2005-2006

But when your polls are in the toilet, getting criticized for a botched war, scandal after scandal. And if you cannot even string words together to make intelligible sentences, then you do not deserve to be on the list.

So I guess it was only this year that Time Magazine decided to show it's true colours and be the left propagandist publication that it is?

O'Reilley is influencial. I will admit that. But he is very dangerous with his words. I watch him often just to get a feel what rightwing crap is being spewed. It is the audience he is targeting that is easily influenced. He dumbs things down, a lot. If they take everything he says at face value, then they are nothing but non-thinking uneducated sheep. Simple as that. O'Reilley just does not sound intelligent to me. He cannot keep his composure most of the time, and slanders people as much as he thinks people slander him.

Don't make him break out that George Soros diagram again. Wonder how long he is going to use that bit.

I guess now you have to look at it this way. HOW were those people influencial? For good? For bad? If it was a bad influence, should Time still have put that person in? That would legitimize anything that person has done, eventhough you know most of the stuff said or done by the person is wrong.

How about the top 100 influencial people who brought good? And then we can get another top 100 for the people that influence our society in a bad way.

well, gee, that kinda douses the old liberal-biased-magazine excuse - and tho, I really doubt Bill O'Really will ever make his way onto any such list, he can always just put it on his resume' anyway -- he's done it before, and his fans don't seem to pick up on his B.S. too quickly - so he could easily get away with it

Only someone bordering on a vegetative state would say that the President of the United States has less influence than Rosie O'Donnell.

I remember my high school social studies teachers had Time covers from the last 30 or so years up on the walls. The one that stands out most in my memory is one with Trudeau's face, and the title "The Second Coming."

It's a leftist rag, no doubt. These lists tend to be political no matter what magazine it is, right or left. But to actually believe that Bush has less influence than Rosie or George Clooney is absolutely hysterical. I enjoy the comedy.

So all the years previous it was not a leftist rag? Bush was on the list for a few years. Are you ignoring that? Time decided to become leftist only this year? Or has it always been leftist?? What you say just does not make sense to me.

I'm pretty comfortable that Rosie O 'Donnel is a more influential entertainer than George W. Bush.

As for Bush himself, how influential can a deeply unpopular, lame duck president be?

You must be right - because his policies and actions certainly haven't been the subject of a huge chunk of debate on THIS forum, not to mention the rest of the galaxy.

Let's count the number of topics devoted to Rosie O'Donell and the number of topics devoted to GW Bush's policies, then determine who has more influence in today's world.

Reading comprehension still an issue, I see.
