The average Republican has not been charged with national security. They just unknowingly voted for the criminals. No, one can be honest and totally incompetent at the same time. I think is Bush is more incompetent than dishonest; Cheney more evil than incompetent. I believe the average Republican is the subject of every Jeff Foxworthy joke. Interesting debating strategy though. When I say I think some Republicans are honest, you counter that with "but you once said they are incompetent!" Do you just debate anything I say, no matter how flattering? Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

Do you just debate anything I say, no matter how flattering? Really? Then how would you reconcile your new found love for "honest" Republicans with this earlier rant? The Republicans tried to paint attacking bin Laden as a wag the dog attempt to deflect attention from the Lewinsky affair. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/23/wag.dog/ They called the attack on bin Laden "an impeachable offence." They wanted to cut and run after blackhawk down immediately, and now are trying to say that the measured six-month withdrawal emboldened the enemy. I can see why he's angry. They're a bunch of lying hypocrites. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
ScottSA Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 No, the cost in lives and dollars has been plain to see all along. The American people voted for more in 2004! The American people were still under the mistaken impression that they weren't being run by a bunch of criminals. The vast majority are no longer under that impression. Is this the same "vast majority" that never seems to show up at the polls? The "vast majority" who wants to bancrupt the country to attain...err...nothing? That vast majority is getting harder to find all the time. Quote
ScottSA Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 Deliberately moving government communications to a partisan email account and then deliberately deleting 5 million messages is a serious federal crime. Is it? Is this a serious federal crime? Can you link ne to somewhere that says this? Not that I disbelieve you or anything, it's just that the record of Bush-haters when they bring up the legality of things is not exactly 100%. BubberMiley Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 Still a confusing mode of debate. Are you trying to convince me that there aren't any honest Republicans left? Must everything be black and white, either you are good or evil? I like to think that, despite being misguided and subject to excessive partisanship, despite being influenced by demagogues and corporate forces, there is an element in the Republican party that wants to do good for the country. Why are you trying to crush what little hope I have left? Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

I am not trying to convince you of anything....other members can readily see your lack of clothing based on prior rants about Republicans. Now I get it. You're using the old bait-and-switch debating tactic popular among (many) Republicans. If you can find any possibility of inconsistency in your opponent's statements, no matter how insignificant or subject to interpretation, you dwell on that so that "other members" may see their so-called lack of clothing. The facts are completely and totally irrelevant to you. In fact, you don't even bother to try and refute or explain them. You just pour through my old quotes to try to attack me instead. This is exactly the mentality I mean when I say that the Bush admin just doesn't care anymore. They don't bother with the facts either and just try and swiftboat their opponents instead. It might be an effective tactic in debate among others who just see debating as an exercise in character assassination, but for the rest of us, you are the one whose lack of clothing is apparent. I'll give you a quote you can use in your next post: I am nobody and my opinions don't matter. What matters is the fact that this administration deleted 5 million emails which is an unprecedented, inexcusable crime. Attacking me isn't going to change that, no matter how much you think it will. BubberMiley Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Posted April 24, 2007 I stand by everything I said. Republicans are incompetent when it comes to national security, and they did jeopardize it when they cited Wag the Dog when Clinton bombed bin Laden. Nonetheless, some of them are good people. Here's the latest Iraq news. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18268472/ Nine U.S. soldiers were killed and 20 were wounded Monday in a suicide car bombing against a patrol base northeast of Baghdad, the military said. The attack occurred in Diyala province, a volatile area that has been the site of fierce fighting between U.S. and Iraqi troops, Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias, according to a statement. It will only be after Bush and a few more Republicans are gone that the policy in Iraq will change. Quote
