Black Dog Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Many of you are, the rest are just hockey pucks. So if I was standing on a corner saying I was Jesus Christ would you spend all this time convincing me that I wasn't ?If the 911 truthies are so rediculous, why do you participate in this thread ? For the first time, PN has a point. Of course, like everything else he says, it's not particularily original. People, you shopuld know by now (12 pages and counting!) that conspiracy nuts will not be swayed by facts or evidence or anything that doesn' fit their pre-ordained conclusions. That's why they are conspiracy nuts. The best strategy is to treat them as you would any other crazy person. Back away slowly while avoiding eye contact. Of course, I should point out that, if PN's theory were true, us government spooks wouldn't be bothering trying to prove him wrong on the internet. We'd just track him down and "dissapear" him. Quote

Riverwind Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 If the 911 truthies are so rediculous, why do you participate in this thread ?For the same reasons I would participate in a thread started by holocaust deniers or white supremacists. Free speech gives everyone the right to spew whatever nonsense they dream up but it is dangerous to let deliberate lies and distortions go answered because a lie repeated enough can become accepted as truth (at least by some people). That is what Polynewbie is trying to do - he thinks that if he repeats the same idiotic arguments enough times that people will start to believe him. Canadian Blue Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Here's the thing I don't get, when Polynewbie talks about the kind of system he wants in place he cites the type of people and nation's we should model ourselves after. First things first, he claimed that Julius Ceasar wanted to bring in monetary reforms and was killed because of it [amazingly this is extremely historically innaccurate]. Secondly, the countries which don't "bow down to the bankers" are all despotic dictatorships. Which really isn't a good sign, and plus his continued infatuation with Lyndon Larouche doesn't really bode well for democracy. What do you think of the war in Iraq ? Have you done any posts on that ? I oppose the war in Iraq, what does it have to do with anything related to this thread? Quote "Keep your government hands off my medicare!" - GOP activist
PolyNewbie Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 CanadianBlue:Secondly, the countries which don't "bow down to the bankers" are all despotic dictatorships. No, I said that whenever a country gets a government that does work for the people the bankers come in and try and overthrow the governments (with wars, coups or fake terrorism), put a corrupt government in place, pay them off to let the private banks get a monopoly on making their currency. CanadianBlue:First things first, he claimed that Julius Ceasar wanted to bring in monetary reforms and was killed because of it [amazingly this is extremely historically innaccurate]. Its not that simple. It has to do with the ratios of value between gold & silver and how they differed in Rome from other places. PolyNewbie Posted March 3, 2007 Author Report Posted March 3, 2007 Its like this (try & follow this logic) You have one of your buddies over and you leave a small amount of money on your kitchen counter. When your buddy leaves the money is gone too. You have just paid a small amount of money to learn something about your friend. Is this person your fiend anymore ? Do you trust anything that they say ? Would you have them feed your cat while you are on vacation ? Thats why I don't trust governement. Plus history shows that powerful groups eventually have their own agenda, no matter how noble their original intentions. Why would these various doctors say something is wrong with floridization if there wasn't ? Its not just a few of them - many are saying it. When a toxicologist says there is something wrong, the only possible reason is that he believes there is something wrong. He could be wrong but is not likely lying. People don't lie unless it benefits them and there is no benefit to the doctors saying this. Why would a doctor say there is nothing wrong with flouride ? Two possibilities (1) They don't believe the conspiracy theory. (2) They are lying from the pressure of the establishment or have been mislead by the establishement. On the subject of 911, there are many engineers that claimed the fuel melted the steel when it burned. This is an obvious lie. The official version of 911 is full of them. Oh, here is the link to the youtube video showng the BBC reporter, reporting that towe WT7 had just collapsed, when it is still clearly standing as shown behind her. Riverwind Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Why would these various doctors say something is wrong with fluoridation if there wasn't?Science cannot always provide black and white answers. Look at the debate on global warming. Fluoride is in the water because there is science that shows that the public health benefits outweigh the potential harms. It is perfectly reasonable to question the science and ask to revisit the question (e.g. has the rise of bottled water use decreased the effectiveness of fluoride). However, there is a big difference between saying the science done in the past was flawed and here's why and inventing some elaborate conspiracy theory involving international bankers seeking to dump toxic waste.Furthermore, it is also important to get the facts right to start with. For example, WHO claims that: Levels of daily exposure to fluoride depend mainly on the geographical area. In theNetherlands, the total daily intake is calculated to be 1.4–6.0 mg of fluoride. Food seems to be the source of 80–85% of fluoride intake; intake from drinking-water is 0.03–0.68 mg/day and from toothpaste 0.2–0.3 mg/day. http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health...ls/fluoride.pdfThis data implies that it is a waste of time to add fluoride in the Netherlands because it is insignificant compared to other sources of fluoride in the diet. This would explain why some studies on the effect of fluoridation are inconclusive. The WHO report concludes with this: There is no evidence to suggest that the guideline value of 1.5 mg/litre set in 1984 andreaffirmed in 1993 needs to be revised. Concentrations above this value carry an increasing risk of dental fluorosis, and much higher concentrations lead to skeletal fluorosis. The value is higher than that recommended for artificial fluoridation of water supplies, which is usually 0.5–1.0 mg/litre (Murray, 1986). In 2000, another study revisited the value of fluoride and found: Water fluoridation was associated with an increased proportion of children without caries and a reduction in the number of teeth affected by caries. The range (median) of mean differences in the proportion of children without caries was 5.0% to 64% (14.6%). The range (median) of mean change in decayed, missing, and filled primary/permanent teeth was 0.5 to 4.4 (2.25) teeth. http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract/321/7265/855That said, both the WHO report and the BMJ study indicate that there are health risks with higher levels of fluoride which implies the anti-fluoride advocates may have a point. After researching this issue I actually wonder if better public health incomes could be achieved by providing free dental care to children. OTOH - I also believe that the current policies regarding fluoridation are based on science and there is no conspiracy. Quote To fly a plane, you need both a left wing and a right wing.

Riverwind Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Phew !! Thats good news. Have you contacted those doctors and scientists that think there is to inform them of this new found fact ?Do some research for yourself. There are lots of scientific studies that demonstrate the benefits of adding fluoride to the water in places where there is not a lot of natural fluoride. This is why the majority of public health authorities add it to the water. Anyone who claims that it is not backed up by science and it is a sinister plot to poison the water is simply a lunatic. OTOH, someone who argues that potential risks exceed the benefits is making a legitimate scientific argument.Unfortunately, the public discussion about fluoride has been undermined by wackjobs like you who think that bankers are the source of all evil in the universe. This makes it difficult for serious scientists to support the cost vs. benefit argument because they don't want to be associated with the wackjobs that have hijacked the issue.
