gc1765 Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 The transit pass tax cut is worth roughly $180 a year. That's a big tax cut, consider it alone outdoes the Liberal tax 16-15% cut for someone that rides transit. This is probably the best policy that the CPC has come up with. I fully support this policy. Moonlight Graham Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 OTTAWA — A Liberal government would cut income and business taxes, not the GST, Stéphane Dion said Thursday in a speech to the Canadian Club of Ottawa. This is much better than cutting the GST, IMO. This is assuming the Liberals will actually keep this promise. First they said they'd get rid of the GST, now they want to cut other taxes. Liberals aren't usually in the business of cutting taxes, so i'll believe when i see it. Talk is cheap, especially in politics. Sure...and it's also assuming that the Conservatives will actually keep their promise to cut the GST to 5%, so I'll believe it when I see it. geoffrey Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Think about how easy it would be calculate GST on purchases at 5%. We should do it just for that reason alone. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --

Are we to move to Alberta to do this? That might be a bit expensive. So I will keep the penny. This 1 cent cut to the GST is a penny ante crap to begin with. Quote
