Who are you going to believe? The lengthy explanation of a purported expert, or the flippant response of a pathological LIAR who is obviously NOT an expert and obviously deflecting from a major screw up?

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. was not Vandalized.
President Trump has publicly stated that the problems with the recently renovated Reflecting Pool were caused by vandalism, claiming that "radical left lunatics" slashed the new blue coating and poured corrosive chemicals into the water.
As a General Contractor with over 25 years of experience, I'm sorry to inform you that the visible evidence points to a much more likely explanation.
Paint does not peel off in large sheets because of a political conspiracy. It peels off because the coating system failed.
The company responsible for the work was either not qualified for a project of this magnitude or failed to follow the proper procedures required for a successful coating application.
The most common causes of this type of failure are:
• Improper surface preparation before painting.
• Failure to properly clean and remove contaminants from the substrate.
• Inadequate surface profiling, preventing proper adhesion.
• Use of the wrong primer or an incompatible coating system.
• Application outside the manufacturer's temperature or humidity specifications.
• Insufficient cure time between coats or before filling with water.
• Use of a coating not designed for continuous water immersion.
• Poor quality control and inspection during the original application.
On a project of this size, visibility, and public importance, a manufacturer's paint representative would normally be involved throughout the process. Their job is to verify surface preparation, monitor application procedures, confirm compliance with specifications, and support the manufacturer's warranty.
If this project was properly bid and managed, those requirements would typically be included in the contract documents. Manufacturer inspections, adhesion testing, application reports, and warranty documentation are standard practice on high-profile public projects.
When paint releases in large sheets, coatings professionals immediately look at surface preparation records, application procedures, environmental conditions, inspection reports, and product selection. We do not start by assuming that political activists somehow caused a widespread adhesion failure across a newly completed coating system.
Everything in this country does not need to become a conspiracy theory or a cover-up.
If citizens walk up to a publicly funded project, see millions of dollars of their tax money floating around the Reflecting Pool in the form of peeled paint, and say, "What the hell happened here?" that's not terrorism. That's accountability.
If someone picks up a loose sheet of paint that has already detached from the bottom of the pool, that does not magically transform them into a terrorist or a national security threat. It makes them a taxpayer looking at a $14 million project that appears to have failed almost immediately.
We don't need National Guard patrols around a failed paint job. We need competent contractors selected through proper procurement procedures, qualified inspectors, manufacturer oversight, enforceable warranties, and accountability when public projects fail.
Most importantly, we need public projects built correctly the first time so taxpayers aren't forced to pay for the same job twice.
This isn't about politics. It's about construction. And from a construction standpoint, peeling paint, bubbling coatings, and premature failure almost always point to preparation, application, specification, or quality-control issues—not a coordinated act of vandalism.
