Democrats consider changes to Virginia Supreme Court after gerrymandering loss

According to the New York Times, one idea being considered is pushing the Virginia General Assembly to lower the retirement age of Virginia Supreme Court Justices so that the Democratic-led legislature could re-appoint new justices to the Commonwealth’s high court who would rule in favor of the 10-1 gerrymandered congressional district map.

............V.A. supreme court is ur garden variety partisan political corruption .......... nothing to see here.

Next!

There are steps you have to take first, Juan, but apparently the knuckle dragger democrats have gotten too lazy to do that - they just want to ram stuff though so they can burn America to the ground faster. That just won't do, comrade, it just won't do. ;)

On Feb 13, 2026, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that the amendment  could be placed on the April 21 ballot, and that they (V. Supreme Court)  would decide on an expedited basis. (partisan hacks expected the vote to be defeated)

They guessed wrong ...... the people decided favor!

On May 8th, 2026  the V. Supreme Court declared, in a 4-3 decision, the results of the measure were void because the GA violated procedural requirement when placing the measure on the April 21 ballot.

The V. Supreme Court of course voided election results for V. redistricting referendum (despite the people deciding in favor), blocking implementation of a map that would have shifted 4 congressional seats towards Dems.

Typical political corruption - the PEOPLE had decided in favor........

The Supreme Court had previously decided (Feb 13) before the vote that the referendum could proceed and then voided the unexpected result.

A designed bushwhack - after millions had been spent.

Ur correct, Dodge, it just won't do  ............ but try to keep up😅

I just love how this whole Democrat cheating plan blew up in their stupid faces.  What a bunch of bozos. They can't win fair and square, and so the Democrats have to cheat at every turn.

As Democrat and Liberal governments fall, Republicans and Conservatives come to the rescue.

Not only that, but they've opened a can of worms for themselves. Now a lot of their already gerrymandered districts have to be redrawn per the SCOTUS.

OOPS... ;)

Your thread title is a LIE. No decision has been made to proceed on the PLANS detailed in your EVIDENCE.

And because nothing has been done, your claim of "cheat," is ALSO LYING.

And why is that, dropout?

The SCOTUS is NOT INVOLVED in the VA Supreme Court decision. Ooops. LMAO

There was no lying. You just can't acknowledge the anti-democratic party is as anti-democratic as it is.

Nope.

The Virginia Supreme Court did not rule in February that the referendum was constitutional — it only allowed the vote to proceed while the case was still being decided. The court issued its final ruling in May and held that the amendment process violated Virginia’s constitutional procedures, so the referendum result was legally invalid even though voters approved it.

Stop whoring for the race hustlers, Juan. ;)

Hmmm...

"That story continues. Late last month, the Supreme Court ruled it was illegal for lawmakers in Louisiana to create a new majority-Black Congressional district. The 6-3 decision in Louisiana v. Callais, split along ideological lines, has enormous implications for who will wield power"

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/scotus-ruling-ushers-in-a-new-era-of-gerrymandering/

So...creating a racially stacked district is illegal. One might think a virtuous person would agree with that sentiment and ruling. However, you are not a virtuous person. You're an ANTIFA Terrorist.

Ahhh you Libbies thought you had made a big win with Virginia. As it turned out...the Alexander v. South Carolina NAACP case hit the SCOTUS at an opportune time and you failures got the ol' "double-whammy".

must suck to be you.
