What relevance are the comments?  Anonymous Intenet comments are basically garbage anywhere but the National Post is a conservative outlet so its comments section is just another hang out for typical overwhelmingly partisan conservative internet comments full of misinformation, fake news, unfair criticism etc.

The fact remains that although PP surely wishes it was otherwise, prominent conservatives including his 2 former bosses and a former cabinet minister are aiding Carney while he can’t keep his MPs from crossing the floor.

Poor dear, the Carney crowd are so outrageously inept, the hollow man has to recruit from the opposition.

You just can't make this stuff up.

LMAO that’s what you’re resorting to now?  From shrieking that Liberals are not listening conservatives Canadians to shrieking that listening to conservative inout means they’re inept?  How desperate are you. Clearly the inept one is Poillievre as his crew abandons his sinking ship

Sounds like Pierre is ready to cross the floor next. 😂

And this is not an “all-party committee, team or task force”. This is Justin Trudeau’s existing committee which they have joined.

They are aiding Carney to get a trade deal, why is that so hard to understand....And what happened to the original staff he had working on a trade agreement....Could all this be because the liberals have not been in honest negotiations since oct 2025...according to the us....Or could it be that Mexico is close to completion of their portion of Cusma....

The question should be why now....I mean the Liberal moto is the US is the enemy, many on here think we don't need a deal.....when everyone else think we should have had one months ago...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Thank God Carney is our Prime Minister and not Milhouse. We dodged a bullet for sure.

Ya thank god i mean i can count on one hand what he has gotten done so far....he has accomplish none of his campaign promises, sh!t we are still do not have free trade across the provinces...Carney said that was the easiest one to complete... we should have a new holiday named after him, get a day off....

They've been meeting all this time and accomplished nothing????

There's a few Conservatives on there.....would that not be all-party?

If the same old-same old, why is Carney calling it "new"?

Committee, council.....tomato, tomahto.

And Milhouse would have already tried to give Canada away to the Orange Julius.

Because when only 4 from the previous group remain and more than a dozen have been replaced it's not the same old, it's a new council.

No silly there are parties in parliament than just Liberals and conservatives so no appointing a few conservatives who are not sitting MOs is not an “all-party” committee did you really need that explained to you?

The committee is not new, only some members have changed. Did you really need that explained also?

They’re advisors to Carney not “working on a trade agreement”

And we all know nobody would be stupid enough to signal a trade deal with Trump before the midterms and maybe we just wait out trump’s term since he can’t run again and even fellow republicans don’t support his trade war. Trump has shown repeatedly that any deal with him is worthless anyway.

The usefulness of the conservative advisors is probably to help him manage domestic politics not Trump.

He's spot on, although I would have used more 'colourful' wording for a more accurate representation...

Your little fantasy world of liberal bias doesn't allow you to read does it.  The council is business leader centric with Lisa Raitt (CIBC Investments) and O'Toole (ADIT risk management) bringing that expertise from current positions, not their time in politics.

Ignorance, dumbass, and clueless simp are spot on though, if you're sensitive to more colourful wording.

The Liberals have negotiated some good deals, oh wait. Really they couldn't negotiate a piiss-up at a brewery.

I have a Liberal bias? Well colour me surprised.

Business leader centric so conservatives are required, yes, got it.

More name calling from the also rans. Keep it up, I'll put you down for the Cream Puff award.

Yes, surprisingly business leaders are conservative, liberal, or any other political affiliation you want to choose.

You're an idi0t, and that's being polite...

My thought, too.

I thought this guy was a world-famous, expert economist.

I don't think this committee (or council or whatever you want to argue the name of it is, I don't care) gets paid other than per diems maybe and expenses for meetings, but Carney has blown Trudeau's massive consulting costs out of the water.  I think it went from $19 billion under Trudeau to $26 billion under Carney.

Why does this expert need so many people to advise and consult with?

LinktheDink has cognitive issues, so he seldom understands your point, then argues for pages & pages on something you didn't say or some point that is so obvious it didn't need to be said.

He admitted he's only here to lash out like a tantrum-y 3-year-old because he needs an emotional outlet.
