Strait of Hormuz remains closed. USA is now maneuvering to control it themselves. How will it play out from here?

The US will overwhelm forces that present a threat along the straight. Take Kharg Island. Blow up Iranian bridges and power plants. Blow up the reactors. In the meantime, many countries are sending their oil tankers to the US, to buy the Yankee oil to make up for their deficit. Russia stuck in the toilet. China not in the fight, but they are supplying the enemy with weapons.

Trump, USA will control the oil. Checkmate.

Supposedly the USN is going to blockade the north/south approaches to the Strait.

Not sure how that will play with China  - they tried that with Cuba and Russian tankers gave them  the finger.

Risky political play if the adults force the issue.

The priority needs to be the Strait ............ it calls for an immediate remedy.

The nuke thing?

Negotiation.

In Christian protestant church pews, there were benchmarks: where to sit.

There are two world oil price benchmarks: Brent and WTI.

Watch them.

Power rules the world, always has ............... in a democracy it's nice to control the court for endorsement of action ...... that would be the U.N. .......... in an autocracy this isn't a great concern necessarily.

You all just needed a reminder of who is the World's Super Power. Iran's Navy was on the bottom of the ocean in the first 48 hour. Never forget, the US military has the ability to put at risk ANY target. You seem to think China and Russia is beyond American reach. I can assure you, that's fake news. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Ukraine, these are just opening acts. There won't be much of a China or Russia by the end of this decade, not as a meaningful power or even regional. I would advise against an elbows up approach to your American relations, its not wise.

that's an entirely wrong misconception of America. Our premise is to be left alone. The rest of the world would go to shit and create problem for us if we left you all to your own devices. You think Americans like paying for a world police force!? We do not! The last two time we left you all alone you all can't help but drag us into your bull sh!t. You know how totem poles work right, the one on top look down and see nothing but sh!theads, and the one at the bottom see nothing but as$holes.

Congrats GI Joe...  but rather than telling us, you should probably remind Iran that you're the badass on the block. They don't seem to be too concerned.  China and Russia, they're just watching with amusement...

Vietnam really is to help out the French.
The other wars were out of strategic interest or retaliation.

Europe is not energy independent so there’s that.

Vietnam was most definitely NOT to 'help' out France' colonial ambitions in Indochina

Vietnam was a civil war, the US weighed in to (as they saw it) stop the spread of Communist ideology.

............... almost exclusively, Iran supplied China with energy.

It is a sweet deal with Iran providing it at discount - in return China was 'big' brother strategically.

China is depleting its stockpiled reserves ..........tic tok ........... the  situation in  the ME could become a crisis (US/China)

China has overtaken the U.S. as Canada’s top oil buyer, with up to 70% of crude shipments from British Columbia now heading to Chinese ports.

That's the lie. The truth is more like maintaining the Alliance network of protection because we promised to do so in the post world war II order. It was a test of the alliance.  The implication for breaking the promise had more consequences than just French Indochina.

That's no accident, that's intentional. Any reserve that they can deplete means  China can't jump on Taiwan as readily.

Thanks. I could handle that. Oppression under America far better than under the sinoese. America, think Coca Cola. China? Toxic rotten-fish soda. With extra scales.

So please, somebody stop us before there is no more Canada left to protect.

I'm sure our new Chinese overlords will be benevolent.

Plus, we're ok with slave labor encampments in Canada now.  No problem!
