Trucking: https://www.readthemaple.com/temporary-foreign-worker-permits-are-destroying-trucking/

You already saw the abuse in the IT industry.

Fast Food:

enjoy... :)

This article goes against your bigotted narrative...

There is a predictable temptation to direct public anger about economic and labour issues toward migrant workers themselves. This kind of racist backlash is becoming all too familiar. In the trucking industry, it’s no less on display. Suggestions that foreign drivers are the source of transport accidents, racist and xenophobic social media outrage, and calls for tighter immigration controls are all notable manifestations.

The Teamsters’ report rejects this framing outright.

“Don’t blame immigrants,” said union president François Laporte. “Blame the politicians for believing everything companies say, and for allowing the trucking industry to use migrant labour as a substitute for paying far more competitive wages.”

In all my years I've never heard, or at least don't remember, anyone ever saying 'I want to be a truck driver'.... like never.  That's not at all to take away from the industry or knock anyone that does drive truck but if there are not enough people to drive the trucks, guess what.... we find them, and according to this article we started doing that back in 2010.  The other side of the coin is that there are a number of transportation companies owned by EI's and typically hire drivers from within their community. You shouldn't have a problem with that...

No, I don't know the 'abuse' of EI's being in the IT industry....

And bigots like you should go somewhere other than Tim Hortons if you don't like being served by immigrants. Where I have no idea but I'm sure you can find somewhere so a 'whiteish' person serves you.  Question though....  why didn't you steer your child/children towards working in the fast food industry as a career?  If you and others would have we wouldn't have this immigrant labor dynamic in that industry.

So you're claiming that there's absolutely zero problems whatsoever with immigrants coming into Canada. The program is working perfectly, it's not having an impact on us at all that's negative. Nothing to fix there

That's your argument?

Huh...so you just discovered that the Liberal government set the stage for the issues in the trucking industry. Good thing I introduced you to some truth, eh?

I knew a few guys who wanted to and became truckers. One of my grandfather's drove a car carrier for a while. They used to make real good money. Then came Pixie-Dust and his Canada'-busting Indians and assorted migrants? Pay rates stagnate or give down...and all the sudden you dont know anyone who actually wants to be a trucker.

I swear to Gawd, you Libbies are educated twits.

I quit going to Tim Hortons because they can only get my order right a third of the time. No other fast food place is as unreliable as far as I can tell.

To answer your question, one kid is a model, one went to university and got a degree and bartended to pay his way, and the third works fulltime serving in a resteraunt while he gets all the requirements fill to be either a cop or a firefighter.

Any more questions?

Never said that. The back and forth wasn't really about that anyway.

I had a big problem with the amount of immigrants we let into the country after covid, but not much I can do about it.  They are though filling roles in some sectors that has a low percentage of people who want to do that work, and for that wage. If there are other solutions that get's more local people wanting those jobs, all the better.

Nope, just didn't pay much attention to the ins and outs of trucking industry other than what rates were.  Fair enough if you want to say that industry is broken but tell me how we find local people to do the other roles immigrants typical fill and we'll go all white.

Not a libbie thing...  I used to get worked up about it but somewhere along the line it became it is what it is. I live in a multi-cultural part of the world so if I did go to Tim Hortons, there could be an EI or Chinese serving me.  Whatever, I'm only there to get what I'm looking for.

Good to hear you didn't push your kids into being a fast food worker, delivery driver, hotel cleaner, etc..  Well done.

Its not a skin color thing. Its an immigration thing. Think man!

The Liberals under Pixie-Dust, flooded Canada with immigrants in a short period of time. Previously we kept immigration down and under control. In that environment, migrants were screened for usefulness and the numbers were low enough that they had to assimilate or run into hard times. Now however, there are so many immigrants that they can form their own communities. Assimilation is no longer necessary.

We hand out education grants to immigrants and they abuse it...and the government does nothing. There are signs all over that guarantee a driver's license to immigrants. I have even rented one of my units to a migrant family and before the year was up, there were 10 more "relatives" living there. Sleeping on the floors...running the laundry constantly...there was so many of them there that the guy in the next house took me aside and asked me to control these people. I was able to evict them because the original couple had obviously broken the terms of the lease.

And like you...they called me a racist.

These people are no longer here to be Canadian...they're here to take over...and the Liberal government is fcking letting it happen. Trucking, fast food, IT, Brampton, Surrey, the Okanogan Valley, Scarborough.

The only people claiming that are the businesses exploiting these people for low wages

The fact of the matter is when you have a large supply of super low wage people who don't go to human rights for abuses then of course business is going to make use of that. And eventually it becomes built into the cake, this system requires exploitation in order to function rather than changing and adapting to something more healthy.

A small amount of immigration or I should say perhaps inappropriate amount of immigration can be a valuable thing in the long term. But that is not what we are facing

Its unfortunately a natural progression and this turmoil was foreseen. For a couple generations now, "The West" has lived lives of luxury...especially in Canada and the US. The liberal ideals continuously strive to make things easier. These Libbies actually believe this easy life is a "right". That every human should just have what they want. The only way to achieve that is via full-on Communism.

Unfortunately...true Communism is an unattainable dream because of greed. The "commune" is consistently taken advantage of by those in power. Next thing you know, you not only dont have Communism...you have absolute dictatorship. Its inevitable.

But we brought this on ourselves and undoing it to a happy medium is not gonna happen until something cataclysmic forces the masses to smarten up.

Which will cost humanity...big time.

Are you scared to go outside, or just find it safer to stay indoors and complain about immigrants?

I'm an indoors / outdoors kind of guy and I enjoy my life, but don't you think that is in jeopardy when 30 million illegal aliens are running loose?

Remember this piece of shit?

https://www.fairus.org/news/state-and-local/illegal-alien-indicted-burning-woman-death-nyc-subway

Are you trying to tell me that you welcome illegal aliens with open arms?

Of course it's a colour thing for you... you said 'brown's are all cancerous'. And for what it's worth, I don't care if you're a racist...

Again, I used to get worked up about it but not much I can do about it.  Did you used to get worked up when the Harper government was courting Indian immigrants, or just took issue when Trudeau's government did the same?

The issue is ILLEGAL immigrants.

It is unfortunate that this is a discussion between one absurd extreme and disgusting racism against brown people and your absurd and dishonest extreme position where you support the open borders lawlessness and illegal immigration.

I've said that the immigration Trudeau's government allowed after covid was beyond ridiculous, have you forgot that?

Again though, were you as anti-Indian immigrant in the Harper years?  He sure seemed excited about them...

https://www.canadavisa.com/news/canadian-prime-minister-highlights-importance-of-indian-immigrants-15-08-14.html

Prime Minister Stephen Harper delivered a keynote speech in Toronto at the Pearson Convention Centre on Thursday. During his speech, Mr. Harper emphasized that India has become the prime source country for immigration to Canada due to recent changes made by the Canadian government to facilitate immigration from India to Canada.

“Immigration enriches Canada,” said Prime Minister Harper. “Today, India is Canada’s top source country for immigrants. And this explains why Canada’s Indo-Canadian community is over 1.2 million strong and continuing to grow. The Indo-Canadian community has a proud history in our country.”

Mr. Harper referred to the eight Canadian trade and consular offices in India, including New Dehli, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. He compared how his Conservative government has made changes to immigration regulations, making it easier for immigrants to come to Canada. “In 2005, fewer than twenty-five hundred student visas were granted to Indian students,” said Mr. Harper. In 2014, that number has climbed to “nearly 14,000”.

The Prime Minister also mentioned Chris Alexander’s recent first visit to India to announce the CAN+ program, under which there is a “95 percent approval rate, making more Indians able to visit Canada or do business”. The program was designed for Indians who have already travelled to Canada or the US.

Mr. Harper concluded by stating that “Men and women relentlessly pursue their goals to build a better, more prosperous life for themselves and their families, and help this country immensely in the process.”

Good to know, but kind of reiterates that we need immigration to sustain an economy...

I'm not disagreeing that Trudeau went beyond ridiculous with immigration after covid.  There were reasons for increasing the amount allowed but the numbers he actually let in are a big reason we are where we are with available housing and healthcare...

If I was interested in US illegal immigration I would have commented in that US side of the forum.  But sure, of course I support illegal immigrants now 🙄
