Have like 8 to 10 kids to ensure at least one will be a financial success and can take care of you.
Like, if you really think we're Third World, start acting like those that live in one.

Feel free to provide one then.

Do you have a kid to drive you to the MRI?

In Canada: Do you have a smart kid who knows a friend to drive you to the MRI?

User,

You strike me as a young person who lives in a trust society, and has no knowledge of old age.

Oh yeah, I left out that there are actually transportation companies that exist to help older people get to their medical appointments. If you live in a care home, most of them have vans/busses to transport the old people living there to medical appointments.

I am just a person who is knowledgeable enough to not come to a dead end at thinking the only resource available to someone is having a kid.

User,

I disagree. I think that you are on the cusp of understanding an important epiphany: children matter.

On average, the CPP/federal OAP pay together about Cdn $2000/month. For people below this, there is the federal GAINS, Guaranted Income.

Old people in Canada (over 65) receive at least Cdn $2000 per month.

In addition, each province has a health system. In Canada, individuals do not pay for health care - but you may have to wait.

Of course children matter. That wasn’t the issue.

Its your absurd notion that you can’t possibly go to an MRI without them…
