eyeball Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 It's beyond awful. It is inconceivable to me that anyone is still allowed to cram a dark enclosed combustible space with impaired people and provide them with nowhere near enough means or room to escape a fire. A wave of claustrophobia and horror washed over me on hearing about it being a basement with only two narrow stairways. This is on the authorities that licence such establishments as much as anyone. Maybe more so given how many similarly crowded bars and clubs have also gone up in flames and resulting in high numbers of avoidable casualties. 1 Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

User Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 From what I have seen so far, looks like the cieling caught fire, perhaps due to the sparklers they were handing out. Reminds me of the Station Night Club Fire here many years ago when Great White had the pyro inside that caught the cheap, highly flammable sound insulation on fire. It could very well be that they had an over capacity crowd that night, exceeding regulations. What I do know is that when I go places I am always aware of the fire exits, because even for as much at fault the bar that Great White was playing in was at fault, they had emergency exits, but everyone ran for the front door and got wedged in. People were stacked up in the door way and burned alive. People in a crisis revert to what they know, their brains know they came in the entrance so they want to go out the same way. Very important to know where the exits are, plan ahead. Quote

User Posted January 2 Report Posted January 2 Cheap sparklers and it looks like cheap flammable insulation on the ceiling that caught fire. It is amazing that this crap is still going on after the Great White Station Night Club fire, which started the same way. Quote
