The only way the Americans are going to take over Canada is if the Chinese gain too much more influence here.

Personally, I'd rather be taken over by the Americans, than the Chinese.  I would welcome their invasion if it saves us from China.

I never want to be taken over by any one. The US is logistically in a better position to invite. China would have to move a force across the Pacific. They are even apprehensive about crossing the strait to Taiwan. Either way, it would be a long and bloody conflict. 

Lately, supper powers have not done well invading smaller nations. Viet Nam repelled the Chinese, Russia is finding Ukraine a hard slog,and the US wae defeated by Afghanistan and Viet Nam. 

To be clear, I have no issue with the American people, even though 70 million voted for that President. Most Americans support Canada. 

Goddess, I have to say, at least one of us is naive. I hope to God it is me.

Correct me if I'm am wrong, but China is not our enemy. They have never threatened us. They are a majot trading partner to both Canada and the USA.

You're wrong.  Please, check things out.  Things beyond what the CBC tells you on the 6 o'clock news.

I know you have dismissed Sam Cooper as an independent journalist, without even so much as sniffing at his work, because you've been told to.  The man has testified in both Canadian parliament and US Congress and Senate hearings.  He has blown the whistle on Chinese drug lords in Canada and why the US is super angry at us for doing nothing about them.

Why not have a look at his website or read some of his substacks on how the Chinese are taking over and have taken over major parts of Canada's infrastructure, banking, real estate, drug cartels, etc.  Not to mention the election interference. 

Then decide if the Chinese are benign and our friends.

 

EDIT: His website is The Bureau.  I know it will feel like you're reading apostate literature when you're deep in a cult, but do it anyways.  You might learn something more than what's on CBC every night.

Canadians should be deeply embarrassed by the whole Ryan Weddings affair, too.

A Canadian former Olympic athlete now running a drug cartel for the Sinaloa Mexican cartel using trucks going from Arizona to Canada.

And the Americans had to crack the case.

Because our gov't keeps telling us "There's no drug cartel problem in Canada!  The Americans are just making it all up!  Don't listen to Sam Cooper, he made a mistake one time!"

I don't know if our MSM even covered the FBI press conference, but there was our head of the RCMP, standing like a doorknob while the Americans announce nabbing and shutting down the cartel.

Independent journalists have delved deep into the case and Canada just does nothing about these cartels and refuses to cooperate with the US, doing as little as possible about it.

We should be deeply ashamed.  And it should give you some insight into why the Americans are so angry with us.

The US can stop the importation of illegal drugs. Just stop buying them. Focus on treating the illness. 

However, you are missing the point. President Trump continues to threaten our sovereignty. It is not coming from the CBC. It is not a tactic by the grits. It is coming from the POTUS him self.

How do you come by that incorrect information. In the last election, I voted for Kevin Waugh, MP for Saskatoon South. I have been a supporter of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada since John Diefenbaker until Peter MacKay stabbed the party in the back and sold us out to Reform(the Social Credit Party.) I cannot support Mr. Poilievre, but Kevin is  an excellent MP and has earned my support.

I agree. We can harken back to the Marshall Plan, and President Trump will be gone in 1147 days. It would still be a bitter pill and the cost in lives would be tragic.

OK, let me correct you. China is bent on aggressive territorial expansion in the South China Sea to challenge control over major international shipping lanes there. This is also to shore up their ability to wield control over this area to mitigate and prevent any counterattacks if/when they decide to conquer Taiwan. They are aggressively postured towards military action against Taiwan. They are heavily invested in countering any projection of power from America if we were to intervene on behalf of our ally, Taiwan, as well. 

They are threatening Japan even as we are here, having to listen to you tell us they are not our enemy. 

But yeah, sure, they are not our enemy...
