Bullshit. The entire point of using the word fascist is to dehumanize people by implying they are evil.

Which is why people are dying because of flippant use of that word.

The most recent and striking use of Fascism to promote national power was Mussolini? He converted an entire Nation to fascism?

Are you implying that the entire population of Italy (1920 - 1930 - 1940's) was evil?

Your frame of reference is so narrow it is astounding.

Do you support any of the following???

 ·         Concocting a false elector scheme in order to attempt to steal a free and fair election that he lost.

 ·         Pardoning criminals who beat and threatened the lives of police officers.

 ·         Giving a loyalty test to candidates considered for positions in the intelligence community – asking them to give “yes” or “no” responses to the questions: Was Jan. 6 “an inside job?” And was the 2020 presidential election “stolen?” - before employment is considered?

 ·         Making “extremism” a crime, as it is in Russia (that’s what they got Navalny for). The Presidential Memorandum MSPM-7 identifies a new category – “pre-terrorist” – and they can get you using tax law and banking. So, for example a donation to the ACLU may put you under suspicion. “Squeeze, arrest and detain first, justify later.”

·         Telling universities what they are allowed to teach, with a view that all taught must align with the Trump ideology?

·         Decimating the science community

·         Purging military command of people of colour and women, like by firing the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., who is Black; the first woman to command the Navy, Adm. Lisa Franchetti; and the U.S. military’s representative to the NATO military committee, Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield. ?

 ·         Manufacturing a “war at home” narrative – including casting judges, governors, and the political opposition as obstacles to “order” and as “terrorists” – propagating chaos and crises - describing relatively peaceful cities as “war zones” – manufacturing the “enemy within” – (so he can invoke the Insurrection Act and cancel future elections).

 ·         Dehumanizing his political opponents – calling Democrats “evil” and “dangerous” and “THE PARTY OF HATE, EVIL AND SATAN”

 ·         Dehumanizing immigrants – calling them “vermin” – saying “they’re poisoning the blood of our country” and this famous quote - “The Democrats say, ‘Please don’t call them animals. They’re humans.’ I said, ‘No, they’re not humans, they’re not humans. They’re animals.’”

 ·         Telling the top military brass they had better prepare to go after American citizens …. Trump said, “We should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.” … “We’re under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy—but harder because they don’t wear uniforms.” … “I signed an order for a quick reaction force to help quell civil disturbances. That’s going to be a big thing for people in this room. It’s a war from within.” … Trump told them their duty is to protect America from threats “foreign and domestic” with the emphasis on “domestic” – and then came the threat: If they “didn’t like it,” they could leave the room—but “there goes your rank, there goes your future.”

 ·         Gutting accountability institutions and regulations, tightening presidential control over independent agencies and the executive bureaucracy, decreasing the political independence of the civil service, and purging perceived opponents from the branch.

 ·         Making the Administration dominant over Congress, the judiciary and the states, causing grave harm to the system of checks and balances, defying court orders, criticizing judicial rulings, and constraining individual judges, circumventing congressional policies and undermining their powers, and attacking and constraining state governments that do not align with administration policies.

 ·         Weakening societal constraints on executive power, attacking independent media, punishing lawyers perceived to be oppositional, constraining civic and educational institutions, weakening voting rights and the independence of election administration, and pursuing widespread retribution against perceived opponents and critics.

 ·         Pardoning criminals as long as they support Trump. Re - Rep George Santos, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for financial fraud. He pled guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He acknowledged lying to Congress, stealing money from campaign donors and fraudulently collecting unemployment benefits. Trump’s response? “He lied like hell … but he was 100 percent for Trump.” … and “At least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!”

 ·         Kicking, dragging and detaining American citizens without arrest warrants or any due process

 ·         Replacing the photo of Biden in the Presidential Walk with a picture of an autopen

 ·         Using food as a bargaining chip: “We will starve the people if you don’t let us take their health care.”

 ·         Pointing his finger in the face of a female reporter and saying, “Quiet, piggy.”

 ·         Posting an AI video of him as a fighter pilot bombing American citizens with literal shit

 ·         Going to great lengths to cover up for sexual predators and pedophiles

 ·         Conducting foreign affairs with one view in mind: “How can I and my family profit from this?”

 ·         Suing the US for $230 million to compensate for past investigations against him

 ·         Posting an image of Biden hogtied in the back of a pick-up truck

 ·         Having a dictator rule the USA?

Tell me if you think what Trump has recently posted is fascist, and if not, what political ideology does it fit.

Democrat veterans in Congress reminded members of the military not to follow illegal orders.

Trump has called for the death of these members. Here’s what he has posted:

"It's called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to Our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand - We won't have a Country anymore!!! An example must be set. President DJT"

"This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT"

"SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!"

"Facts" with 17 layers of innuendo, salacious rumour, and high revolution spin.

Try some soothing music like Bach - Adagio BWV 974 it could help.

Trump has called for the death of these members. Here’s what he has posted:

Complete mischaracterization. Seditious behavior is not a death penalty. He did say that it can carry the death penalty, he was wrong:

18 US Sec 2384: If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

You will notice he is also wrong about it  being seditious  conspiracy. There has to be force involved.

That makes him wrong, on 2 counts. But where is the fascism? Fascism is: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

First, Trump is not a dictator. He is an elected official and has all but endorsed who should run to replace him. Second, he has decentralized government. Most notably advocating for Roe to be overturned and abortion to be a state issue. But also deregulation of multiple industries. Third, he has been the most race positive president of our time attracting far more Hispanic and black votes than any Republican in the modern era.

@Radiorum, you are just using the emotions that fascism elicits (in you) as the definition. You hate fascists and you hate Trump, so you equate the two.

The reality is that Trump is not a fascist. Of the 6 or so things that define a fascist, Trump might be two: capitalist and nationalist. But he is not authoritarian, racist, violent towards opposition, or for centralized markets. Up until recently, virtually 100% of our leaders in congress were capitalists and nationalists. Unless you want to call everyone that ever served in congress a fascist, maybe you should stick to the correct definition and not your emotionally charged, basterdized version.

No no...you're wrong. Such has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

However...I would offer this for all to consider. Have these stupid buggers committed treason? Well...as leaders of the nation they have used the force of concent. Advised by members of congress of the nation soldiers are sworn to defend. Any good lawyer will see that.

Thus...should Trump and Bondi decide to, they can roast these traitors.

Oversight is not treason, and opponents are not traitors. Trump’s goal is not debate, but to instill fear in any who might oppose him. He wants everyone to think, “Will I be next?” In a free society, you punish illegal orders, not those who warn against them.

Do you think the "I was just following orders" is a valid defense against committing war crimes?

No. Ask the Nazis at Nuremberg, where the International Military Tribunal established that a subordinate has a duty to disobey a clearly illegal order.

I dunno, Trump is the guy who asked his Joint Chiefs of Staff, in all serious, about protestors, "Can't you just shoot 'em? Just shoot 'em in the legs or something?"

Lol...and if they are attacked, the military could respond to defend themselves and to carry out their mission.

So this line is a strike-out. Anything more?

Look, the writing is on the wall, if you care to see it. First, cast political opposition as subhuman “radical lunatics” that do not deserve the right of law, captured nicely by a 30-second floor speech Representative Bob Onder (R-MO) that makes it clear the opposition must be eliminated:

“If we didn't know it already, there is no longer any middle ground. Some of them American left are undoubtedly well-meaning people. But their ideology is pure evil. They hate the good, the truth, and the beautiful, and embrace the evil, the false, and the ugly.”

Then prep the military brass about the expectations put on them - enforce Trump’s agenda or put their positions at risk:

We’re under invasion from within,” Trump said. “No different than a foreign enemy … I signed an order for a quick reaction force to help quell civil disturbances. That’s going to be a big thing for people in this room. It’s a war from within.

Have a look at the National Security Presidential Memorandum NSM-7 (September 25) – which takes a whole-government approach not to reacting to acts of terrorism – but plans to go after those that the Trump administration says could be sources of terrorism – i.e. anyone who opposes Trumps’ policies. How many times has Trump called Democrats terrorists?

The memorandum says they will go after a wide range of people, including “anti-capitalists” and those with “hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality,” – and who will be decided by the Trump administration - all as they rapidly expand surveillance state against the administration’s critics.
