No, it hasn't gone away. It's been on full display since April. Carney has adopted every part of it, embraced the idea, and is living the life. He makes grand pronouncements about how things are all going to be fixed. Housing is going to be ramped up to a billion houses a month! We'll be getting hundreds of billions in new trade exports outside the US! We're going to crack down on crime and easy bail!

Just uh... wait a few years for our very, very important changes to start showing their impact.

Carney using network TV to promise $300 billion in new exports outside the US. Oh? How's that going to happen? He didn't say. Is there a deadline for this? When can we expect it to happen? No idea. Trust me, bro.

And now his phony bail reform act, which is nothing of the sort. It's minor tinkering around the edges that will likely have as much impact on crime as their billion-dollar hunting gun buyback program. Why can't they just reverse what they did? Because that would be admitting they made a mistake. And that, they will never do, no matter how many innocent people have to die so they can pretend things are working fine.

Bill C-14, Justice Minister Sean Fraser’s proposed bail reform law, was marketed as a bundle of “sweeping reforms.” In reality, we’re getting no such thing. This bill is just a facade, giving only the appearance of grand change.

The Liberal Party is a well-oiled BS factory.  Masters at only appearing to do something when they don't want to do it.  They're Machiavellian and filled with professional liars with no integrity.  Unfortunately, a lot of people only read the headlines and don't look at the details.

The same can be said of our shitty governance - we're as much to blame for not insisting hard enough on seeing the details.

So, Mr. Groot is pointing out that the Liberals are no different from the CPC (aka Socialist Credit.) Governments can only do what the electorate will allow. There are too many tight -fisted greedy scrunts who want everything for free.

Bail reform means locking up a lot of people who are presummed innocent, but it is provinces who will need to pony up the money to build the jails. They are already faced with the shortage of psychiatric specialists and medical staff to effect rehabilitation for those who have actually been convicted of an offence. It is the fault of the freeloading tax non-payers who want law and order (as long as it dosen't apply to themselves) but refuse to pay for it. You just have to listen to the whining when you pull over one of these clowns for a breathalyzer, and suddenly, it is all about their constitutional rights.

However, like the deficit, it is only going to be an issuse for a few more months. Due to the inaction of Liberal, Progressive Conservative and the Socialist Credit government of Harper, we have not have more than a token military since 1945. Sometime before the end of 2027, the Americans will assume ownership of Canada and our debt and public safety will be President Trump's problem.
