if you ignore prayer you're not as sharp as you could be.

Let me ask, what other nonexistent entities do you pray to?

Gremlins?

The tooth fairy?

Leprechauns?

Do they all build your neuroplasticity?

Do tell.

Hillbilly Vance can tell us all about Prayer and God. Afterall he schooled the Pope on moral issues during the so called Turning point rally the other day. I would like to know what these guys are smoking so normal people can avoid it.

The shingles is not a good present.

Did you re-gift it to someone else?

After I saw what it did to family members, I rushed out and got the vaccine. Even the vaccine hurts.

Dude, you are unbearably stup1d.

How do you stand being around yourself.

I'll bet if you didnt have this RW echo chamber to blather around in, you'd have no one to talk to.

Ya, Shingles is no fun at all. I always thought that kind of stuff only happened to other people in commercials. Apparently not. :)

I have two family members who got it. One of them got it on their face.

Luckily,  it didnt scar, but man, that was terrifying.

Im so sorry you had to go through that.

And, im so happy I got the vaccine before I got it.

Terrible. I have a friend that had it around his eyes and forehead, I was lucky enough to just get it on my back and legs, and it burned like a fire for five weeks.

It was three words, if they confused you I don't know what to say other than your English teacher owes you an apology

Well you're wrong, but you must be used to that by now. There's tons of people I talk to, I mostly come here for people like you. It's hard to find as many people even on other forums letter is daft as people like you and Robo and X flyer etc. I don't really come here to talk for the most part, I come here to laugh at the freaks. There are some good people and some good conversations to be had but for the most part your entertainment, you're not intellectually stimulating :)

Response to the very legitimate issues I raised was a picture of a monkey banging symbols together posted 20 different times ;)  That's funny to watch, like a cat chasing a laser pointed :)

So you have no proof.

A lot of 'prayer' is just selfishness: "Oh, big man in the sky, let me win a lottery.' 'Oh, Giant Invisibleness, cure my cancer." In those cases a lot of people are disappointed and therefore worse off for 'praying'.

Pete Hegseth's prayers are actually evil. "Give them...  overwhelming violence of action against those who deserve no mercy."

A lot of prayer is really meditation, repeating learned prayers.

Meditation actually clears the mind of desires and stress, thereby focusing and sharpening the mind.

I would see it as an expression of hope. Articulating our fears and desires is a step towards dealing with them.

‘How small we make our worlds. Gather them in, tighten them up into little castles of fear.’

Nicely said.

If it gives you comfort, than praise be the lord.

As I pointed out before, this is the ignorance of bigots like you mischaracterizing religion, specifically Christianity, with your own absurdly ignorant take on what prayer is.

What proof do you have that praying for harm to come to those who deserve no mercy is evil?

Lets see your proof.   (also, pls provide proof that meditation is nothing more than repeating a phrase or mantra and nothing else)

And  Prayer induces neuroplasticity, strengthens neural pathways associated with focus, emotional regulation, and compassion while calming the brain's "fear center," the amygdala.

So there you go.

Christianity 101: All people deserve mercy. To say otherwise is un-Christian.

Here's some of mine. Where's yours?

(There are many kinds of meditation. Mantras are only part of some of them. Mantras are also a big part of prayer.)

AI: Scientific studies show that meditation, particularly mindfulness, induces structural and functional brain changes (neuroplasticity) that reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while improving attention, memory, and emotional regulation. Research indicates it lowers cortisol, decreases amygdala reactivity, and improves connectivity in brain regions linked to focus and emotional stability.

https://www.apa.org/topics/mindfulness/meditation

"Researchers reviewed more than 200 studies of mindfulness among healthy people and found mindfulness-based therapy was especially effective for reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Mindfulness can also help treat people with specific problems including depression, pain, smoking, and addictionopens in new window. Some of the most promising research has looked at people with depression. Several studies have found, for example, that MBCT can significantly reduce relapseopens in new window in people who have had previous episodes of major depression.

What’s more, mindfulness-based interventions can improve physical health too. For example, mindfulness may reduce pain, fatigue, and stress in people with chronic pain. Other studies have found preliminary evidence that mindfulness might boost the immune system and help people recover more quickly from cold or flu. Harvard Gazette +7

Many more that you can look up your self.

There are things prayer and meditation have in common (apart from the fact that a lot of prayer is meditation): The big money being made by by the Church and those making millions off the 'Mindfulness' industry. But the Church wins that contest hands down.
