It’s a direct contradiction of the Old Testament law of retaliation. Jesus doesn’t soften it — he abolishes it. He replaces retribution with mercy, vengeance with grace. If you claim to follow Christ, you cannot cling to the sword of Leviticus while ignoring the cross of Matthew. Unfortunately you are applying something Jesus said to the justice system. That is not what it means. Jesus is not saying criminals should not be punished. Jesus was talking about a personal relationship between you and another person. If someone says something mean to you, you may be wise to hold your tongue and turn the cheek. But that has nothing to do with the justice system Gaetan. 1 Quote

God's scratching his head over you... A hater of people that don't agree with his views is preaching values. Hypocrisy at it's finest and rolled up into another sorry conservative who can't stop complaining. Appreciate the offer but need to know anything about Satan, I know him well enough. But seriously, go play bible with someone else..... You admit you know Satan? How is that? Do you believe he exists? What about the demonic hordes that follow him? Do you believe it that? If you do, you may know more than most people. I am not playing. I also don't hate people that don't agree with me. Everyone makes their own choice about what they believe. 1 Quote

You will never find in the gospell anything where it says that Jesus said to punish others Luke 6:27–28 “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” 🔹 These are not instructions for punitive justice — they are radical calls to forgiveness and grace. There is much more in God's word than the gospels. Google crime, punishment and the Bible and read some of those verses. What kind of world would it be if criminals were not punished? 1 Quote

The facts are that most types of crime have been declining. I'll wait to hear more from Carney on this rather than listening to angry Poilievre. The five violations that contributed the most to the decline in the overall CSI in 2024 were non-violent in nature, accounting for three-quarters (75%) of the overall decrease. In order of impact on the CSI, police-reported rates of breaking and entering (-11% of the rate per 100,000 population), child pornography (-15%), motor vehicle theft (-17%), theft of $5,000 or under (-9%) and mischief (-6%) were all down from 2023. The Violent CSI decreased 1% in 2024, having a comparatively smaller impact on the overall CSI. Prior to this, the Violent CSI had risen for three consecutive years, increasing 15% over that period. Compared with 2023, the Violent CSI recorded lower rates for many violations in 2024, such as level 1 sexual assault (-3%), extortion (-10%), robbery (-2%), attempted murder (-12%) and level 3 or aggravated assault (-8%). Combined, these violations accounted for 80% of the decrease in the Violent CSI. https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/250722/dq250722a-eng.htm Crime is absolutely getting worse in Canada it's the one thing literally every statistic agrees on Premiers have been screaming about it, police chiefs have been screaming about it. Violent crime is getting vastly worse in Canada I guess like every liberal you feel that lying about it is a suitable solution, it isn't. 1 Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Moses acted under the direction of God (the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost). "Moses' actions were guided by God's direction, as seen in his interactions with Jethro and his divine commands. He followed God's instructions to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and to deliver the Ten Commandments. Moses' leadership was marked by his obedience to God's commands, which included appointing judges and leaders, constructing the Tabernacle, and providing guidance to the Israelites. His life and leadership exemplified themes of faith, obedience, and perseverance, inspiring future generations within both Jewish and Christian traditions.
