Carney has been saying that 85 percent of our trade is covered by cusma so the actual tariffs we're paying are overall lower than some other countries.

But it is not true.  And if you're surprised to see the liberals lying about it there's something wrong with you.

Carney says Canada's trade with U.S. is mostly tariff-free. But that's not the whole story | CBC News

"U.S. Census Bureau data shows that last year, only about 38 per cent of U.S. imports from Canada were traded under CUSMA provisions.

Data on how many Canadian companies are CUSMA-compliant is not readily available. An analysis of the effect of tariffs by the Yale Budget Lab published on Thursday assumed that 50 per cent of Canada's exports to the U.S. are now certified.

Meredith says applying for CUSMA exemptions can be a daunting process for small businesses."

Our economy has dodged the worst of it so far but with these new tariffs we're going to feel it. It'll take a couple of months before the effects start to kick in but then it's going to hurt.

The left keeps crying that a bad deal is worse than no deal, but no deal IS a bad deal.

A deal with Trump, like has been agreed to by other countries, is no deal at all.

Trump doubled tariffs for Japan on a whim.

I think any company that completely relies on trade with the US would be prudent to be USMCA compliant.

An agreement to start the framework of a deal allows Trump to declare a deal and limit tariff... Canada's elbows up approach is how you got to 35%

Is the Standard of Living rising in the US?

As it stands now, the USA can't be trusted with Trump at the helm.

He only got elected because Biden was so bad.

In fact it is a deal. Also, not having a deal and having to live with whatever trump dictates is also a deal. The deal we have right now is they charge tariffs on probably the majority of things we import into the united states and those tariffs are high as hell. That is the current deal

Many can't be. The cost is high and they just can't do it. It's a massive amount of paperwork and time. It works out for companies that make a lot of a few items but not companies that make a few of a lot of items.

And even companies that can sell to the states and have some of their products be compliant They will have to drop some items where it's just not the worth the effort for the volume which means they make less money which means our economy suffers. We take a hit even if that company survives

Last year only 38% of our goods were traded with the united states under CUSMA. It's estimated that we might get up to 50%. The rest will either have to pay the tariff or stop selling.

No matter how you slice it when carney says that 85% of our stuff is tariff free he is absolutely wrong

At this rate, pretty soon there will be economic migrants coming from Canada. Which is just as good as annexation in my book.

No you're not the job's numbers just showed that you're unemployment is worse than you thought. That's why trump took the swift and decisive action to correct the problem by firing the guy who brought it up

We actually get this a lot, fan mail I mean. We’re used to it though, winning 2 world war championships back to back and an economic envy is hard to beat.

Canada is on a long sleight rise.  You, on the other hand, were in a slight decline until Trump showed up and showed the world that bluster and mental illness can speed your decline . . . again, it must be nice to be you.
