Womp Womp, I guess she realized she was going to lose there in the primary too.

I don't get these vaunted expectations for this woman. I knew she lost the second her installation as the nominee. We are talking about a person who had a lower approval rate than her very unpopular boss. The media tried really really hard to prop her up, they were caught editing her answer to make it sound better and every single interview except for the one fox one she did was a softball tongue bath. The funniest one was when she was on the View and completely screwed up about the easiest answers you could give as a nominee for President.

As much as the media told you she was popular and all these celebrities loved her but the truth is no one really likes her.

Let's remember how she got her job. She was a person of color and a woman and that was it. Remember Biden called his shot. Now I always thought she was a horrible choice and there were other better choices that fits the bill but I think the Biden team was scared she was going to run as an independent and pull enough votes from him to give Trump the election, there was a rumor that there was a primary candidate that threatened as much unless they were named VP.

During those days there wasn't a great shot to beat Trump the economy was good and unemployment was low but then Covid happened and jacked all that up.

I think the dam is including her old boss willie told her that she wasn't welcome to run for California. They want to put someone else up as this sort of democratic nominee.

I think she's going to have to make do with the lecture tour. I'm not sure she's going to be really popular in politics for a little while

Thank God. That woman is dangerous in any situation except in the wokest of circles.

I dont get why both parties try to push someone onto us that is just not likeable. Same thing happened with Hilary, she was the most hated first lady and yet they told us how great she was and she lost.

The Republicans does the same crap too. Romney and McCain were awful candidates.

It's got to do with the nature of their nomination process and the nature of American politics which is based largely on fundraising. You're not going to get anywhere near the nomination unless you are a massive fundraising draw With a very large group of core supporters within the party that are somewhat radical.  This means that the candidates will always tend to be older, and they will tend to represent the more radical elements of their party (regardless of party). They usually try to tone it down or soften it up by the time they get out of the primaries and into the actual presidential race but the fact is it tends to lead to candidates who prefer radical action or who are controlled by those who do.

In addition the way they do it state by state instead of all at once creates a weird popularity contest that really favors those that have a radical core of support

Canada's system is entirely different, which is why a black woman who's never been a part of the party in any meaningful way and is basically a complete unknown can come out of nowhere and damn near take the leadership.  Or why an international banker and tax avoidance expert can show up and cinch the nomination and become prime minister without a single person voting for him as prime minister.

And why our candidates are often much younger, in their late 40's or 50s.

YOU ARE LYING:

Oct 16, 2024  Vice President Kamala Harris' job approval rating stands at 45%, essentially unchanged from one month ago. President Joe Biden's latest rating is 39%.

And yet she came within 1.5 pts of beating Trump in the popular vote.

And on top of that, her approval rating is CURRENTLY beating the shit out of Trump.

Jul 2, 2025  New polling suggests former Vice President Kamala Harris would be Californians' top choice for governor if she entered the race. But many voters are still ...
