People who have a deeper understanding of things and are aware of the specifics and nuances of the specific issue tend to have more to say, not less to say. There are similarities between a conquering nation and an authoritarian, there is little doubt. But I feel you're stretching this further and further. And again it might be the united states rather than him that was authoritarian assuming that the invasion was sanctioned by congress.
